Matt had just finished his glass of water and was just about ready to leave when he heard someone moving behind him. He turned his head and looked behind him, seeing the female walking through the hallway and into the kitchen. She was obviously still tired from staying up so late, but then again, Matt probably would be too if some unknown factor was keeping him wide awake. It was probably because he was used to being up early enough to get a good jog in before the day started, but he knew he'd feel the effects of it later.
Matt sighed. He could sneak out now and probably escape detection from Recita, but he didn't really feel like walking out with one of her dishes. After taking a glance at the city that stretched out behind him, he reentered the condo. After slipping his boots back on, he entered the kitchen and turned his gaze towards Recita. He smiled and cocked an eyebrow.
"Morning." he said. It was sort of humorous to see someone so drowsy, almost as if they were awake and asleep at the same time. He placed his glass in the sink and turned the water on, allowing it to rinse the glass out. After a short minute, the glass was washed, dried and put away. After drying his hand, he dried his hands and turned back to the female behind him.
"I was just getting ready to leave, so... Thanks for letting me stay for the night."

Once again, Recita was stunned into a turn to see it was Matt that had entered the Kitchen but less shocked than she was at the pier. She just didn’t expect to see Matt still here not that she minded. The only thing was that she thought she must have looked like a mess which she really just looked the same when she fell asleep that night. But she didn’t stumble with anything and made no rush to make herself look nice like other females would. Instead she watched him walk over to the sink and wash the glass he had.
Midway she shook off her surprise and remembered to greet him like a normal person would, so she did. “Uh- Good morning Matt,” she said with only slight hesitation at the start. At this point she twisted the cap to her water bottle back on and placed it on the counter again. She wasn’t sure what she should be doing now so she just stood there watching. Now that she thought about it, it was hard to come by a nice and cute guy that was around her age with good manners. Guess it was just her luck that it had to be a student that shouldn’t be interested in such things.
When she was addressed again, she locked eyes with him as he spoke about leaving. With a small tilt of her head she responded in a lighter tone that she would usually have. “It’s no problem at all… but leaving so soon?” She shouldn’t have been surprised but it was still pretty early. At least it was for her.

After Matt had finished drying his hands, he had approached the opposite side of the counter Recita was at. As he did, he noted the lack of any rush to make herself look more presentable, which impressed Matt more than anything. Most women around their age were extremely vain these days, always having to look beautiful using make-up or super fancy, in-style clothes. Of course, either way, Matt thought Recita looked fine, even when she hadn't gotten herself ready for the day. Another fact his male mind seemed to point out very clearly.
"Well..." Matt started, looking at the clock behind Recita, "I still have about thirty minutes before the time I scheduled myself to leave, but I figured I wouldn't overstay my welcome. You probably have things to do, and I don't want to hold you back or anything."
Matt refrained from leaning on the counter, so he did not violate personal space or anything by accident. He barely new Recita, and for all he knew, she would take it as bad manners, though he highly doubted that. She seemed too kind, generous, and comfortable around him to care about something that small.

She smiled slightly as she shook her head. No matter how much she said it was fine however long he stayed, he was still worried about overstaying his welcome. It might have been a different story if it was something like a month long but he was only here for a few hours at best. Very gentleman like. “Don’t worry about it; I don’t have anything scheduled for the next few hours. I enjoy your company really. I don’t have many guests visit so it gets kind of boring around here. Don’t rush out on my account.”
This was a different side to Recita she rarely showed to most. It was true that she enjoyed his company and that she didn’t have many guests but that was for good reason. She didn’t really feel any connection to most people and most of the time classified them as obnoxious or overly happy. This one had a more calm and toned down feel around him, which was a good thing. Started off her morning on a pretty nice start compared to the norm.
She then thought about food as she did earlier, but now that she had a guest leftover pizza probably wouldn’t be a good option. The only other available thing was cooking, something she was mediocre in at best and that she didn’t like to do. Still it wouldn’t be that difficult. Besides she could probably just find that cereal around that she bought the other day. “Go ahead and relax for the rest of the thirty minutes. Did you want some breakfast or something?”

Matt pondered her words for a moment. They weren't hard to understand or anything, but he was debating on whether or not to accept her offer. Well, if she enjoyed his company and didn't have anything to do for a few hours, there was no reason not to accept her invitation, except for his own worries. Besides, to tell the truth, he enjoyed her company in the fact that she wasn't a person whose every other word revolved around duel monsters. Most of the other students at the academy had these tendencies, so it made conversations about other things hard sometimes.
His thoughts were interrupted by his stomach, which growled quietly from underneath his shirt. Apparently, he was hungrier than he thought. Either that, or the water he drank a few minutes earlier had somehow emptied his stomach more. Matt couldn't help but think it was the former reason.
"Again, thanks for your generosity. I'll just take a small breakfast, please. Whatever you can spare is fine." Matt requested. He massaged the back his his neck with his left hand to get the stiffness out, though all he succeeded in doing was causing some of his hair to sway a bit.

Recita only slightly heard Matt stomach and held in that small laugh she had. If she didn’t it might have been harder to get him to agree to have breakfast. True she didn’t know what to make him but it was better than letting him starve at least. So only with a small smirk showing on her face she responded. “Alright, it's no problem at all. You can go ahead and sit in the main room while I make something. You can watch some TV or take a look at the city again from the balcony. I’ll bring food out in a few,” she said unwavering as she checked the fridge again with a small glance but yet her eyes not completely off Matt.
She took note of his hand movement as if he been slightly tense around his neck region. There wasn’t really anything she could do about that, even if she knew how to help. That was sort of personal area and she’d try to let him have as much as he wanted. Far be it for her to intrude upon his personal space when it seemed to her that personal space was what he wanted. However the little motion he did also swayed his hair slightly and she couldn’t help but take note of how nice his hair was. She wasn’t vain or anything like that when it came to looks but just compared to other people she’s seen, his hair has got to be the nicest and well kept, especially among other men.
But afterwards went back to her search for breakfast related foods. What she had was mostly western styled but she doubted that Matt would mind such a thing. Though she kept the kitchen looking pretty orderly, she hardly remembered where she put anything in there. Since cereal was becoming more popular in Japan she decided that that was quick enough have and maybe some toast. Nothing too fancy or too hard to make unless she burned the toast or ran out of milk, both of which she doubted would happen.

"Alright. thanks." Matt said. After putting his hands in his pockets, he moved himself back into the main room. He didn't want to get in her way, and he still just wanted to relax for a bit. Besides, a small bowl of cereal or a few eggs wouldn't hurt. It wasn't like he was going to go jogging today. He was set to work for most of the day today, and hopefully finish his training as well. It took more than he thought to work in retail, but the old man that owned the shop had a way of pounding knowledge into someone's head quickly. Maybe it was just how calm and collected he usually was, or maybe Matt was a quicker learner than he had previously thought.
Once in the main room, he sat down in the spot he had fallen asleep in, staring out at the horizon in front of him. What had been just a thin orange line now housed the large, glowing orange orb known as the sun. It was a bit too bright to look at, so Matt got up from the seat he was in and leaned on the balcony rail, staring down at the city. Most of the lights were still on in the city, but that didn't really surprise him. All of the tall buildings were probably blocking out a lot of the morning light right now. Aside from the view, the cold, brisk air was refreshing. It was almost like the air on the island, just not as clean.

Now that Recita was alone in the kitchen, her task was to make breakfast. Yay…
Bread was easy enough to spot from where she was standing. All she had to do now was place it in the toaster in the corner and push the button down. Easy enough. The next part was finding the next item. So after looking around the kitchen for a good few minutes, it gave her the reward of the finding of what she was looking for: Cereal. She wasn’t really sure if they were good or not since it was her first time getting some but she heard it was good. So with that, she just got out two bowls and spoons from the cabinets and placed them on a tray she had lying around. In actuality the tray was used before for carrying food since Recita was usually slack and brought her food into her room to eat. Now it was being used to serve others instead of just Recita which was an interesting thought to her.
She didn’t really know what she was suppose to be doing when serving guests though so she thought she’d wing it. Let him get however much he wanted and so forth. She opened the fridge to grab the large thing of milk for the cereal and butter for the toast before closing the door with her foot. After that the toast popped up from the toaster which concluded the end of her little task. Putting the bowls, spoons, box of cereal, milk, plate of toast, and butter on the tray she thought for a moment if that was all and concluded that that should do it. It wasn’t fancy but it got the job done.
Moving the tray out of the kitchen, she looked around the main room before spotting Matt out at the balcony. He sure did like the view of the city for some odd reason. She remembered the academy having a pretty nice view too sometimes, but it was always just the trees of the surrounding forests with a huge gapping mountain on one side and the opposite side the vast ocean around. At least it was a better view than what she had here. Still, she wondered why Matt kept looking out at the city so much. Maybe it was for peace of mind?
Recita placed the tray on the coffee table in the main room before walking out to the balcony as well. She didn’t bother to say breakfast was done since she figured it was implied with her appearance outside. She stood next to him and leaned on the railing slightly as she gazed out at the city’s new day. It took a minute until she’d finally found the words to say in this instance. “So, you like the view of the city?”

While Recita had been in the kitchen getting breakfast for the two, Matt had remained almost perfectly still, only moving to brush his bangs out of his eyes from time to time. The view was so different from the view that the Academy's roof provided that it was almost mesmerizing to Matt. Yet again, thoughts of possibly owning a Condo such as this came to his mind, wondering what it would take to get one, or what things would be like when he finally did obtain one. After he had shaken these thoughts from his head, he heard Recita set something don behind him. He didn't have much time to turn his head to see Recita join him on the balcony, and, after a few moments of silence, ask her question.
"Yeah. Besides my hopes of living in a place like this, it's different than the redundancy of the academy's rooftop. I mean, I'll bet this view gets pretty common when you live here, but for someone who's stuck on an island most of the time, it's a refreshing change of pace." he explained shortly. Just saying what he said made his realize how much he really wanted out of the academy. But he had decided to stay in until he had gotten enough money to sustain himself before graduating. Of course, with his nineteenth birthday coming up, it would be sort of hard to avoid forced graduation. At least he had gotten a job and, before that, saved up enough money to get a small apartment near his work. In fact, he had already reserved an apartment there ahead of time.
"What about you? I'm guessing you wouldn't live here if you didn't like the view?" Matt inquired. He hoped the question wasn't too personal. He didn't want to invade too much privacy.

Oh? Finally a question about her had come out, but Recita didn’t mind answering it. Actually it made her think for awhile about why she actually chose this place instead of another. It wasn’t something she ever thought about before really. She did go out to the balcony a few times during the week, more so than any of her neighbors that she had yet to see outside of the building complex they lived in, but she didn’t think it was really about the view.
“…I guess I can understand you about the view at the academy rooftops. The scenery here gets a bit dull after awhile too but there’s always something new happening in the city that I can always get a bird’s eye view of. Course it’s not exactly as peaceful as the nature filled Duel Academy but it’s interesting sometimes nonetheless.” Recita thought about what Matt had said for a few seconds after that. With his background at Duel Academy and his hopes of wanting a place like this, she was pretty sure that it was his aim to become a pro duelist since that is one of the few professions that involved dueling and the dream of almost all duelists. Though that wasn’t a bad dream, she couldn’t help but think of how hard even hitting the pro circuits could be. Matt was a good kid but she wasn’t sure how he’d handle the pro leagues. Still, hopefully he would at least make a name for himself and if not, then better.
But she shrugged it off after realizing it wasn’t any of her business anyway. There wasn’t anything she could do in the industry of dueling if anything at all. At the realization of that, her thoughts snapped back to the academy itself. “So nothing interesting is happening at Duel Academy now?” She questioned Matt with a slightly secretive undertone to it. Though it was more curiosity than anything else, it brought back some memories.

Matt listened to Recita's reply, and couldn't help but smile. Maybe it was peaceful during the semesters, but during the off time, you couldn't turn a corner without seeing holographic duel monsters destroying each other. Compared to the academy, the sounds of cars and people wafting up from the streets below was incredibly peaceful compared to a Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon roaring in a narrow hallway. The cars didn't give Matt a headache at least.
"Not really. Besides the start of the semester and the endless duels going on around the academy, I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary." Matt responded. He noted the strange tone Recita had in her voice, but he could not identify it. It felt as if she was hiding something, and Matt wanted to question her, but his worries of digging too deep kept him from asking. After a moment of digging through his own thoughts, he glanced over at Recita.

At Matt’s response, she smiled as she let out a small sigh of relief. So there was nothing out of the ordinary so far. Then that means she wouldn’t have to travel to the Academy any time soon, and even better was that, at least the shadow magic was keeping away from Domino as to not run into her life again. “Well that’s got to be pretty boring aside from the holographic monsters tearing each other apart everywhere.” And yet boring was better than dangerous. At least that’s what a boring adult would say which was proving to Recita that she was getting quite old now. That… or she was always old, but she doubted that.
When she glanced back to Matt, she saw him looking at her. Figuring she did something strange, she decided to change the subject before she said something she wasn’t supposed to. “But anyway, breakfast on the coffee table in the main room. I’m not sure what dorm you’re in but hopefully it’ll fit your tastes,” she stated. But then she thought that it might raise some suspicion so she added something as well. “You know you’re free to ask me something if you want. I won’t take any offense if that’s what you’re thinking.”

Matt blinked a few times at Recita's response. It was almost the same way he was thinking, except he had gotten tired of seeing the holographic monsters destroying each other with various attacks. Well, at least he had for a few days. It wasn't that the dueling had gotten boring, far from it. It was just that after a whole summer of seeing and participating in the activity, it had gotten redundant. He just needed a few days break before he dove back into the virtual carnage. Upon hearing that breakfast was just behind him, he turned and looked to see the cereal sitting on the table behind them.
"Thanks!" he said, walking over to the food. He sat down and quickly fixed up his bowl of cereal while Recita spoke. He took his first bite of cereal and remained silent for several moments, pondering her words and if he should ask his questions or not. He hadn't this far because he figured they were a bit personal, and he didn't want to invade Recita's privacy too much.
"Well... Any questions I'd ask at this point would take a while to answer, if you did answer them. Besides, they'd sort of pry into your past a bit..." Matt said, unsure if he had chosen the right words for his sentence or not. He just hoped she wouldn't get mad at him for whatever reasons he missed.

Recita blinked as she turned around back towards the main room after Matt finished preparing his breakfast. It shouldn’t have been odd for her but yet helped produce a faint smile on her face. “No problem,” she responded softly as she glanced back to the skies and the land. She’d let him eat in silence for a few minutes as she took in the view before her. Actually, she probably did that for her own sake. It wasn’t normal for her to be this friendly towards another and this had her wondering about it. Not that it was a bad thing, but it was a strange thing.
By the time she decided to walk back in to her guest, he had started talking again. It was natural for him to be curious but he wasn’t like most and asked them openly. At this, she would actually answer his questions, though some incompletely or even vaguely. She hardly lied unless it was absolutely necessary to keep identity. She'd know what information would hint at that.
So she sat down nearby but not yet fixing anything on the tray to eat. She'd wait for awhile until she was hungry. Until then, she just sat back to get comfortable before responding. “If you’re curious then ask them. If I had a problem with it then I would have told you otherwise. Sides, I’m sorta curious about you too.”

Recita was sorta interested in him? It took a second for Matt to register the statement in his mind. It was... different, seeing as he had never really had a person of the opposite gender in the least bit interested in him as a person, as opposed to his dueling skills. He finished the bite of cereal silently before looking over at Recita, trying to hide his sudden curiosity as to why she had taken an interest in him behind a neutral face. He left his spoon in his bowl after he finished his next bite and set his bowl down. He was still a bit hesitant to ask his questions, and it showed in his voice when he spoke.
"Well... I guess the main question is why you've been so generous. I mean, there might be obvious reasons, like for my own safety and such, but I get the feeling there's something more behind it..." Matt inquired. He took picked his bowl back up after speaking and took another bite. He had been wondering why all night. Most people would have made him stay in a specific room or something, if they had let him in at all. Recita on the other hand had allowed him full access, minus her own room. Why had she trusted him so much? Not that he had a problem with it, it just felt weird to have someone treating him so kindly.
