Accompanied by the one night roommate, Recita made her way through the city at the midst of night from the Pier to get to her house. What kind of house? A condo for her. At first it’d look like an apartment of high class, but fact was it wasn’t. The place would probably live up to an obelisk student’s expectations but she was sure that the guy with her didn’t care all that much about luxury. Still, she actually couldn’t care less if he was an obelisk or a slifer. Either way, all she knew was that he was better off here than the streets. Meeting any expectations wasn't her goal.
It wasn’t that far of a walk, but she tried to walk slower so that the male could keep up with her since he was clearly tired from whatever it was he was doing earlier that day and it didn’t help it was so late at night. Though that being said there wasn't much of an exchange of words between the two, so it was quite uneventful. At first entry into the first floor of the building, Recita paid no attention to anything or anyone else and went straight for the elevator though there wasn’t anyone on the ground floor except her and her companion for the evening. It was almost like she was used to this routine, but of course when she got to the elevator she did wait for the man with her. It would sort of be rude not to.
But it was around this time she realized she had no name to associate with him. She wasn’t one to get social but she figured that if he was going to stay, she should at least address him with more than a, you there, or, hey, even if for one night. So to compensate, while she pressed the button that had the number eight on it, she spoke. “So… what was your name?”

The late night atmosphere and his own weariness made the short walk to the female's home seem longer than it really was. Yet, at the same time, he didn't really keep track of the time or think of ho tired he was. His eyes and mind were fixed on the female he was following, partly because he didn't want to lose track of her but also because he couldn't help but wonder who this girl was. Either she was just extremely kind at heart or something about his temporary situation had hit a soft spot. Matt couldn't help but think it was the latter, considering that people generally weren't that kind.
The setting in which she lived only served to heighten his curiosity. It seemed like such a high class standard of living, it made Matt wonder if the person he was following was a celebrity or if she had inherited some family fortune. Judging by the Hymn she was singing earlier, he wouldn't have been surprised if this female was a professional singer or something. It was only a few moments after the elevator had started that she had inquired into Matt's name.
"Oh, it's Matt. Matt Hirama. And you are?" was his response. He had the same thought pattern as his temporary roommate, not wanting to address her as anything possibly insulting to her.

“Recita Raquel. A pleasure,” was the response she gave, yet her face still held the same neutrality of before. The woman sighed lightly and started leaning backwards on the railings in the elevator, using her unbent arms as support. This wasn’t going to take long to get to her floor but the wait was kind of boring. She was the type to easily get bored but quiet patient which was a strange combination to many people. At this point she took the time to think about things but mostly scattered thoughts that didn’t have much correlation with each other.
There wasn’t much to say that came to her mind at this point. Most of them were just filler or stupid questions that didn’t matter much to anyone. But this was to filter some time so might as well ask about some stuff she was curious about. “Say, if you don’t mind me asking… why did you come to Domino? You were at Duel Academy as a student before right?”

After Recita had given her name, the elevator got rather quiet. It wasn't the bad and ominous kind of quiet though. It was more of the bored sort of quiet, with nothing to do or little to say besides small talk. During this short period of silence, Matt's mind wandered to the things he had done what was no yesterday.
He had been jogging for most of the morning, as he did every morning. The only difference was the fact that he had decided to job in the city instead of on the island. Sometime during that afternoon, after he had finished his jog and gotten changed, he ended up at Kame's game shop. He applied for a job and got hired, and spent the rest of the day learning where everything went and what he needed to do to run the shop. By the time he got off, the last ferry had already left. He had spent the rest of the day wandering the city. Before his thoughts could go any further, he was interrupted by a question from Recita.
"Oh... I was just out for the day. There was just nothing to do around the academy, so I came out to the city." Matt responded.

“… Is that so?” she said slowly as she started to ponder his words. That was an interesting thought to her- nothing to do around the academy. She always found stuff to do there than in the city at least. Maybe it was best not to question the thoughts of a guy or compare it to that of a girl. But still, if this happened often then he’d still end up on the street after tonight if he didn’t stay at the academy. The whole ordeal just sort of got to her.
But by the time Recita wanted to speak again, the elevator stopped with a tone that indicated that they reached their destination floor. Shrugging it off for the moment, she walked into the hallway and to the closest doorway to the right of the elevator, taking out her keys to undo the locks on the door. “Anyway, until you find your own place to live in the city, feel free to crash here instead of just taking to the street.”
And with that the door to her house opened. Without giving Matt time to respond in either a refusal or thanks, she started speaking again but with more voice than before as she walked in. “The bathroom is down the hall, the second door to your right if you want to want to wash up before bed. The guest room is just going to be the first door to the left. If you need me for some reason or another then my room is at the end of the hall.” The main room itself didn’t have much besides matching furniture that fitted the room. Most of the walls were blank but made up for in window scenery and up to date appliances. Recita herself went to the kitchen in the corner of the living room to get something to drink before addressing Matt again. “Any questions for me?”

Matt followed Recita silently after he had explained his reason for being in the city. Normally, he'd be fine with staying at the academy after his jog and duel a few people before heading to work or classes, but he had dueled so much in the past week he had grown sort of bored of it. And thus, he had come to the city to escape from Duel Academy's number one past time. Needless to say, it had been both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because he got the down time he wanted and found a job in the same day and a curse because he had missed the ferry back to the island, and was probably going to get detention or something. Then again, missing the ferry had led him to meeting Recita, whom had piqued his curiosity as to why she was being to generous to him. She had even allowed him access to the shower, which most people would have prevented without a second thought.
Matt noted where everything was located after Recita pointed them out and headed into the kitchen. Matt himself looked out the window at the large view the condo had to offer. He couldn't help but smile. The only time he had seen a view anything like this was on the roof of the academy, but all he could see from there was the road heading to the docks, the dorms, and a whole lot of green. The view of the mountain was blocked by the school behind him. When Recita addressed him again, he turned and entered the kitchen.
"Oh, nope. Everything's good." he lied. He had questions, but they would be prying questions mostly relating to her and why she was being so generous. Not to mention how she had come to acquire such an apartment. But, he could save that for another time, or not ask them at all. She didn't seem like the type to talk about those kinds of things anyways. After he said that, he left the kitchen again. He was never good at lying, and he didn't want to give her enough time to tell that he was indeed not telling the truth.
He untied the cloth belt around his waist, allowing his blazer to hang loosely open, exposing the thinner, black T-Shirt underneath it. After folding the belt up, he took a seat on the couch in the main room and stared out the window. It wasn't every day he got a chance to see this sort of view of the city, and he wanted to take it in before he went to sleep for the night.

Recita watched him from the kitchen and remained silent as she took a sip from her water bottle. Usually people would ask questions about the condo or herself, but not this one. If he was sure he didn’t want to ask then it was better for her anyway. She took note of how he looked outside as if he was enjoying the sight which made her wonder if he was really going to come by again. Though she had reason to suspect that he wouldn’t which didn’t faze her much at all since she hardly had that many guests anyway, much less a cute one.
But that wasn’t the point. She’d leave him to do what he wanted as she thought about what to do now. Aside from skipping work that morning and meeting another academy student at the café, she was caught by her manager and forced back on set to work. The day exhausted her quite a bit but left her time to do whatever she wanted for the rest of the short evening she had. By that time she felt the urge to sing the Mystery Hymn before meeting Matt. It was an okay day but not without repercussion in the morning. She’d worry about that later though.
Leaving the bottle on the kitchen counter, she walked back to the main room. “Matt, I’ll just be using the shower first if you don’t mind. I won’t take long,” she stated as she walked into the hall towards the bathroom. Her nightclothes were already in there so she didn’t have much to worry about in terms of that. She really just felt like washing up before bed.

"Alright. Take your time. No need to rush on my part." Matt called after Recita. No thoughts on the matter really passed through his mind immediately. He was tired and wasn't really planning on using the shower anyways. He had showered after his jog earlier that day, and hadn't done anything strenuous since. After a few moments, what his one-night female roommate had said sunk in, and a few images came to his mind. Blushing, he tried to push the images out of his mind with thoughts of his new job, and when he started work, which was tomorrow. Curse his male mind...
Still, as he stared out into the city, thoughts of what Recita had said earlier began to click into place. Why was she so generous as to let him stay here for the night when she barely even knew him. Or a better question was, why did she invite him to stay here in similar situations in the future? Again, she barely knew him, and visa versa. It seemed weird to him, but at least for tonight, he wasn't going to complain. He doubted he would return unless it was truly an emergency, like he got stuck in the city with no money... again. But with a job, he doubted he would find himself in that situation again.
He sat back on the couch, continuing his staring contest with the city below. Placing both hands beneath his hair, he flung his long, black hair over the couch, so he would not be sitting on top of it. Resting his hand on hie left palm, he waited for his weariness to kick in again. No need to get the guest room's bed all ruffled and such. He was only here for a matter of hours before he was leaving. Yet, his was still awake, as if something about the situation at hand kept him awake; gave him just enough energy to keep him awake. Maybe it was the fact he didn't know the female well enough to fall asleep in her home or something.

It wasn’t until a good twenty minutes later that Recita would come out of the bathroom in a new set of clothes, granted they weren’t anything special as one would expect them to be but actually quite plain. Her top was an overly large t-shirt that seemed to have been double the size that she would actually wear, effectively covering her torso and part of her lower body. Though the male would probably not know at the moment because they were covered, she had also worn some cobalt shorts below the t-shirt as she always had. As an added extra there was a bath towel that hung around her neck, mostly because it was used to dry her now moderately damp hair.
She mostly washed up because she wasn’t planning on sleeping anytime soon, with trying to sleep in and miss work and all. The later she slept, the fewer hours on her watch. Now in the main room, she glanced around as she stood in front of the glass doorway that led to her balcony. The thought of the city still being illuminated as it was had stuck in her mind as to why it would be so. Was this town really so restless as to not even stop at this hour?
But those thoughts slipped away as she then remembered that Matt was in the house with her. Really it was mostly because she saw a glimpse of him in the corner of her eye, still on that couch. However, he seemed to look more relaxed or at least an attempt to be. Why he wasn’t asleep yet in the guest room she didn’t know, but she’d address him for an answer. Her left hand was placed on her hip as she spoke. “I thought you were tired. Is there something wrong with the guest room or something?”

And yet, despite the small burst of energy that had been keeping him awake, he had slowly started to feel himself doze off. Certainly not enough to lose his sense of his surroundings, but his vision was beginning to get a bit hazy when he heard a door behind him open. The noise ripped him back to reality, as he turned his head towards the hallway behind him. He saw Recita exit the bathroom in what was obviously lounging clothes. After a seconds, he rested his head back on the back of his hand and turned his gaze back to the city below. It was about a minute or so before he heard Recita address him.
"I am... No reason to get the guest room in a mess on my part. It's not like I'm here for very long anyways." he said tiredly, followed by a yawn. Unlike Recita, he didn't really want to miss work that badly, considering it was both a new job and a job that centered around his favorite past time. Besides, the elderly man who owned the shop was nice and all, but Matt doubted he would tolerate lazy employees.
"What about you? Not going to bed?" he asked. He closed his eyes, realizing now just how heavy they felt.

Recita shook her head to indicate a no before taking a seat in a seat adjacent for the couch. “You act like you’re causing trouble. You’re a guest here and so you’re free to use the guest room for however long you wish to stay,” she replied to his answer to her previous question. She wouldn’t order him to do it though and she’d respect his wishes of just sleeping on the couch but she at least had to say it.
Leaning back in the seat, she sighed softly as if some stress was placed off her shoulders. Work for her was really just one big pain in her side. Bed… though it would be best she’d choose to stay away for now until it was truly needed. “Ah… not yet. I’m more of a night person than a morning person. I’ll go to sleep later.” Her voice gradually grew softer as she noticed that Matt was starting to close his eyes.
She wasn’t his mom so she figured that she didn’t need to look after him, so she didn’t. She just sat there for a few more minutes watching the outside as Matt had before to pass the time, not wanting to wake him by turning on the TV or something. She’d however say one more thing to make sure he was sound asleep before she’d retire to her own room. Her voice dropped to almost a whisper as she spoke once more but fully expecting no answer. “Good Dreams?”

Matt wasn't one to fall asleep as soon as his eyes were closed. In fact, he always took about ten to fifteen minutes to fall asleep after laying down, depending if he could find a comfortable position. After Recita had finished speaking, everything around him seemed to go quiet, except for her moving around quietly through the living room. His thoughts began to wander in the silence again, mostly the same thoughts he had been having ever since he had set foot in the house, such as why Recita was so generous and kind to him and where she got the condo. After a some minutes of these thoughts, Matt heard more quiet movement in the room, followed by Recita's whispered "Good dreams?" He couldn't help but smile at her comment. After everything went quiet around him again, he mumbled an equally quiet response.
"You too." he replied. It wasn't every day he said these kind of things to someone, much less a girl around his age. He was too tired to blush at this point, but he still felt a bit embarrassed at what he was saying.
((So... Are we gonna time skip to the morning, keep rping, or end the thread?))

((Well we can skip to morning if you want to keep RPing since there isn’t anything more we can do right now.))
Recita was always a naïve one and so she didn’t really get what was wrong with any of her actions or what they could be perceived as. After a small amount of silence after she said her words, she falsely assumed he was asleep and rose to her feet. As she was about to sneak back to her room she heard him mumbling something and stopped after a few steps. He was a sweet guy and she couldn’t force back a slight smile. It was too bad he was going to be leaving so soon. Actually it was going to be too bad that they probably won’t make much contact after tonight.
Taking one look backward to him, she faded her smile back to her normal neutral face before walking off to her room. It wasn’t her responsibility to watch over him. He was old enough to take care of himself anyway. He went to Duel Academy after all and that place was pretty safe depending on competence levels. So at this, she collapsed onto her bed and let out a sigh as she tried to get comfortable. The night was no longer young and she wasn’t a vampire. It was time for some sleep.

Matt's eyes snapped open, fully awake before he knew what was happening. Then again, nothing was happening as far as he could tell. The condo around him was as quiet as it was when he fell asleep, but the horizon had changed from a navy blue line to an bright orange one. The morning light must have woken him up. Getting up from the couch he had fallen asleep on, he walked over to the balcony and looked over the city. It was still as awake as it was a few hours ago, giving Matt the impression that the city truly never slept.
He pulled his PDA out of his pocket, and checked the time. It was still about an hour before he was set to leave, but he was hungry, thirsty, and broke. If he went out now, he wouldn't get a chance to eat until he got on the ferry to the island. At least here, he could get a glass of water before he left. He went to the kitchen and after a minute or so of searching, found the glasses. He filled the glass up to near the brim with water and took a drink, emptying about a fourth of the glass. It was enough to quench his thirst for the moment, but he'd finish the glass before leaving. Didn't want to end up thirsty minutes after leaving.
He took his glass of water back to the balcony, taking a sip from it's contents as he did. The view was something he'd miss, certainly. Maybe he'd be able to buy something like this when he was a pro duelist, but until then, he'd take in the sight while he could.

And all the while that Matt had gotten up and gotten a drink of water; Recita was still asleep on her bed. However her moment of rest didn’t last long. She forgot to close her blinds that night and so the sun got to her as it did Matt. She just took longer to lull awake than Matt which wasn’t much of a surprise. She was much more accustom to the darkness than the light.
But when she got up, at least half an hour passed from when Matt first woke. Misjudging the time and the silence in her condo, she assumed her little roommate had already left. Since it was early morning at that, she thought she’d just lounge around until she got her call from her studio. So she forced herself to roll off her bed and swung her feet down as to help her stand rather than hit the floor face first. And of course since she thought she was alone, she didn’t have the urge to wash up or anything as she would if she were going somewhere. Instead she took the brush she had in her room and started to move it through her long hair as she walked out of her room towards the main one.
Needless to say she noticed the doorway to her balcony was open but paid little mind to it. Fresh air was always nice in the morning or so people say. She was too drowsy to notice Matt was outside or even around so she just walked silently past and into the kitchen, grabbing the water bottle she left on the counter that night. Though it lost the cool feeling, it still served the same purpose as before, Recita taking a sip of it without hesitation. As for breakfast she wondered if she still had leftover pizza in the fridge. Pizza was better than nothing, or worse- cooking.
