Gazing out towards the transparent, cysrtal blue sea which resided on the bounded shores of Duel Academy rested a youthful cherry blonde. Positioned against what seemed to be a rather bulky boulder which lied peacefully on the meadowland resembling hill top, the young student known formally as Ikazuchi Ryûsuke would express a duration of inhaling, and exhaling petite amounts of air as the ingenious blonde enjoyed to the relaxed day.
"I wish more days could be like this."
Spoke in a moderate, Relaxed tone of voice as Ryûsuke propped himself upwards as he soon began to extend his arms outwards, stemming the joints within his upper appeal. Finished with his morning and afternoon classes, the young Duelist sought to use the day as a sort of self-progression. Using his time to study his deck and practice some more duel tactics, however it was quite boring when doing such a task singly, a dueling partner would be much more efficient.
Then it hit him, today Ryûsuke was schedule for a trail duel with one of the senior’s at Duel academy, Evan was his name? Him, this could prove quite fascinating; sure Ryûsuke was a youthful talent, but this Evan guy was still a transfer from the West Facility, so had he grown habituated to the crisp, novel atmosphere of the Main Academy, there was only one way to find out. Shuffling his deck, Ryûsuke waited patiently for his opponent to arrive so they could start this little duel.

Evan was running towards the beach. Today, he would duel a junior at the Academia. Ryusuke was his name, someone he had encountered in the common room that day. It was a memorable day, being his first weekend and all. That, and he had a book flung towards his face that day. So far, Central Duel Academia has proven to be a barrel of fun.
Evan had just gotten out of classes. As usual, class was an easy task for him. Nothing had really changed in comparison to West Academia classes. Even during his first year, it was rather simple. His time with Masami had taught him much. Even so, this was an easy way to attain an education. And also a very fun way to attain it as well.
Spotting Ryusuke, Evan had stopped, a cloud of sand around him. Within the cloud of sand, he activated his duel disk. Sliding his deck into its respective slot, he was now ready for his duel. The spirits of Dark Simorgh, Guardian Eatos and Silpheed were behind him. Well, if he could see Duel Spirits, he'd notice this.
With a gleaming smile, Evan said to his opponent "Ready when you are."

An array of spellbinding magicians, Sorcerers, Wizards, Warlocks, and witches under his command, Ryûsuke prided himself on his expert use of Spell-casters, a talent that he was unsurprisingly born with, that was only augmented under the tutelage of his father and mother. From a young age, he only saw himself dueling with a definite type of monster, those being his creatures and warriors of magic and fable. However would trick and acts be enough to overwhelm his older and anticipated, experienced opponent?
Turning around, Ryûsuke noticed his opponent Evan, already activating the Duel-disk that rested on his wrist, the virtual gateway to the wonderful world of Duel Monsters. Not hesitating, Ryûsuke activated his own, importing his paranormal deck into the designated slot, gawking at his opponent as the duel disk radiated with versed colors and sounds. Drawing six cards, Ryûsuke scanned through his hand, noticing a judicious use for each card he had drawn, and with delay, he would start the Duel.
“Okay, let’s get things started.”
Ryûsuke exclaimed with a calm demeanor, shuffling through his hand, picking through the cards with his free hand, soon pulling out three of the six.
“I’ll first start by placing two cards face-down… then I set one monster Face-down as well… ending my turn.”
As Ryûsuke gave notice to his move, the field generated three virtual cards in front of the two, mainly on Ryûsuke’s side, so how would his opponent react to the initial move of the duel?

As Ryu drew his hand of six cards, Robert drew a hand of five. The opponent had set two backfields and and a monster. Those cards could prove to be dangerous, but he could work through it. "Draw!" he shouted, drawing his next card. "I play Allure of Darkness. I draw two and remove Dark Grepher from play." "Next, I Special Summon Guardian Eatos from my hand!" The eagle guardian then descended onto the field, in a flirtatious pose. "Battle!" Guardian Eatos, attack the facedown monster!" However, this turned out to be the Spiritual Healing Parasite, which equipped itself to Eatos. "I set one and end."

The duel had begun, and for the most part, the brief part that is, the duel had turned out to be something motivating. His opponent drew his card, activating his Allure of Darkness Spell Card? A sufficient move which increased his hand by one-card, that single card could be his salvation. Then he summoned quite the commanding angelic monster to the field via, Effect; Guardian Eatos. Arrogantly attacking without knowing the unfavorable effects, Ryûsuke smiled as he fell into his trap, attacking his Kiseitai.
“Draw.”
Exclaimed the Cherry-blonde Student as he now held 4 cards in his hand, it was time to evoke some justice onto his opponent for riding his field of his only monster. However not before gaining a whopping 1,250 increase in Life-points from his Monster’s effect.
“First off, I activate my field spell, Secret Village of Spell casters... Then I play another monster face-down...I end my turn.”
Placing the Spell card into the Field Slot, the Duel Disk glows majestically and soon the entire arena shifts from the luscious landscape of ocean and land, into a ancient civilization, consumed in torched lit flames, stone tablets, and other magical tools. Afterwards, another Concealed card appeared on the field.

The fact that he ran into the parasite didn't seem to trouble him. Certain cards would have been much worse to run into. Necro Gardna, Pyramid Turtle, Goblin Zombie, Gravekeeper's Spy. "Draw!" he shouted, drawing his next card. Since Ryu had no face up Spellcasters, he couldn't activate spells. Oh well, this play would be easy for him to pull off. "I tribute Guardian Eatos to summon Wind Emperor Raiza!" With a storming boom, the Wind Emperor took to the field. "Effect of Raiza! I spin one card to the top of the deck. And your facedown monster shall be spun. Disruptive Gale!" The wind emperor then blasted the set monster with a blast of wind, disrupting the opponent's draw for the next turn. "Battle! Wind Emperor Raiza! Direct Attack! Devastating Hurricane!" The wind emperor then swung at the opponent with a powerful strike. "I end."

The powerful gale of forceful winds collided with Ryûsuke’s unsuspecting body and soon, he sighed heavily as his Life-Point calculator dropped significantly, 2400 to be exact. As the winds declined, and the dust faded in back, Ryûsuke stood stalwartly as he recovered promptly from the direct attack, only to begin his draw phase as he didn’t speak it, yet commanded it with physical motion.
“I play this Card in Face-down Defense position and end my turn.”
Placing the same card he just drew down, one would think that Ryûsuke was already on the edge, yet his calm demeanor gave no such sensation. This was a battle, and in battle, tactical planning was needed, and even at a lost, one could always come back and win; that being Ryûsuke’s plan.

"Draw!" he shouted, examining his next card. Silpheed, his partner then nodded to him. "I remove Guardian Eatos from play to special summon Silpheed!" The wind angel then took to the field. "Next, I summon Zombie Carrier." The diseased zombie then made its way to the field. "I tune my level two Zombie Carrier to my level six Raiza to synchro summon Stardust Dragon!" The wind guardian dragon flew onto the field. "Battle! Stardust Dragon! Attack his facedown! Reverbrate! Shooting Sonic!" The dragon blasted the monster, who was Nimble Momanga. The opponent gained 1000 life points and set two from his deck. He knew that a two tribute monster could arise from that, even though he'd give the opponent 1000 more life, he wouldn't risk a possible beater. "Silpheed! Attack one of the facedowns! Gale of Salvation!" The wind angel then blasted one of them, giving the opponent 1000 more life. "I end."

Smiling as his Life-point count increased by a full 2000, Ryûsuke draw from his deck, scanning over the cards he had in hand, and the four he had on the field, noticing that he had two spell/ Trap cards, and a face-down monster intrigued him, and now it was time to make use of such a opportune moment. Running his fingers across the tips of his cards, Ryûsuke picked one card up, grinning slightly.
“I set a card face-down, then I tribute my Face-down monster to summon Dark Red Enchanter.”
With that, Ryûsuke placed the card on its respective slot, and instantly afterwards, a divine male, draped in a mastic red garment appeared, holding its divine staff. However it would seem that Evan had a plan as he activated his Phoneix Wind Wing Blade. Nevertheless, Ryûsuke was one step ahead.
“I activate my Dark Illusion trap card, negating your trap, thus destroying it!, however I also activate my Fissure to destroy your weaker monster.”
With that, the trap card was destroyed, whipped clean off the face of the field, as his Dark Red Enchanter still reigned on the field. Drawing two new cards, Ryûsuke watched as his Monster gained 900 attack points from its own effect. Now having three Spell Counters on it, it was time to take to the offensive. Activating Fissure, Ryûsuke had hopes that his open wouldn’t be able to stop this, yet it happened. Using Stardust’s effect, Fissure was negated, and it was sent from the field, most likely till the end of the turn. However Ryûsuke wouldn’t stop.
“Dark Red Enchanter, attack his other monster!”
Raising his staff into the air, Dark red Enchanter rushed towards his opponent, twirling the rod in-between his fingers and soon releasing a powerful blast towards Evan’s monster, destroying it. Now with a empty hand, Ryûsuke ensured that his opponent’s monster’s untimely effect would have no Ill-effect, and to be honest, he was interested in seeing how his opponent would react to his turn.
“I end my turn.”

During the End Phase, Stardust Dragon revived himself. "Draw!" He grinned, the spirit of the Dark Simorgh appearing. "I remove Wind Emperor Raiza and Zombie Carrier in my grave to Special Summon Dark Simorgh!" The corrupted bird then descended to the field. "Battle! Dark Simorgh, attack Dark Red Enchanter!" But this was met by Negate attack. "I end."

Ryûsuke had survived yet another turn and now it was his time to draw. Adding the card to his hand, Ryûsuke Realized he couldn’t activate it due to his opponent’s newly summoned monster. However this wouldn’t stop him from activating his already set cards.
“I activate My heart of the Underdog Spell, then DRE, attack Stardust!”
Raising his staff towards the chrome Dragon, Enchanter released a powerful surge of spiraling energy that impacted with Stardust Dragon, destroying it, upon contact. Now with his Heart of the Underdog activated, if he were to draw a Monster it could work to his advantage.

"Draw!" he shouted, drawing his next card. Even though he couldn't use it now, it was no problem. "I normal summon Black Feather - Gale of the Hurricane!" The masked bird came onto the field. "Effect of Gale! I halve the stats of your Dark Red Enchanter! Black Gale!" The bird then blasted the monster, reducing its attack by half. "Battle! Dark Simorgh! Attack Dark Red Enchanter!" And with destructive force, it tore the magician apart with its talons and black winds. "Black Feather - Gale of the Hurricane! Direct attack!" The masked bird then swung for 1300. "I end."

Life Points constantly dinging away at Ryûsuke’s calculator as he faced two devastating attacks, one costing him his prized Dark Red Enchanter. This wasn’t looking good at all, His field was empty, yet his opponent had two monsters ready to attack on command. Now his turn once more, Ryûsuke drew from his deck, upon gazing at the card, the young duelist smiled as he reviewed the card to his opponent, it being Neo the Magical Swordsman.
“You’ve seen my monster, now I activate my Heart of the Underdog’ effect, which allows me to draw one more card.”
Upon drawing a new card, Ryûsuke looked back at his opponent, setting Neo onto his Monster Slots, as the magical blonde Magaican materialized onto the field; its grand Long sword glistening in the rays of the sun.
“Now Neo, attack his BlackWing!”
With the command, Neo’s blade ignited in a majestic silver light, running at his opponent, the Swordsman struck down his opponent with a devastating sweep, destroying the monster.
“Now I activate my Share the Pain Spell Card, by offering my Neo, you must offer your Simorgh since its your only monster…I end my turn.”

Gale was hacked away, and Dark Simorgh was now gone. "Draw!" he shouted, drawing into his next card. The spirit of Dark Simorgh nodded to him. The bird then attacked at the boy with destructive rage. "I end."

Ryusuke smiled as his life-points continued to drop away as his opponent had virtually placed him at a stand still, there was no way for him to win at this point, and Ryusuke was quite content. He'd underestimated the power of his opponent, and now he was facing the trials for his ignorance. Drawing a card, Ryusuke smiled as he signaled his ending phase, back to his opponent.
