A reminiscent tone lingers endlessly with the mood…
Sad blue eyes had set upon the sight past the door before him. It was an entry way to a destination that he had only let his heart guide him to because of the weight that pressured his actions. His lips were slightly parted, the most smallest of breaths escaping as he hesitantly gazed at the entrance feeling as if he was regretting listening to his inside voice that guided him here. Time had not stood still, that much can be told from the young women at the counters working back and forth as one left another took the place. For the young violet haired figure however, the minutes from now to then where he would finally make a decision to move where nothing but idle moments that might as well be a pause in his life that was necessary.
It had begun that morning, his mind seeming to wander more than ever. His right hand was slightly sore by the fingers from him scribbling text within his diary that had been tucked into the wooden glossed drawers of his desk before he left. It was fresh with the shimmering ink that would soon infuse itself with the paper by the time he made it back, but just as fresh as the ink, he had thoughts that lingered from yesterday that shown no signs of dying with time.
It was a burden.
His attention would have been focused on the last night’s strange occurrence of playing “Spin the Bottle” with the young students that he had met, but even so, it could not overlap the lips of the young Obelisk Blue woman from yesterday as he had been made notice to look at his life, look at himself. It was a simple meet and greet, and she seemed to lack intention, nor the attention, to belittle him or speak so lowly of him to try to confuse him, but yet, he stood here in utter confusion about a future that had shattered like glass right before his eyes even if the question of the young woman was so “sound.”
What did he want? Why was he here?
He was in denial before, he could not doubt that. He had even told himself so as he tried to give the young woman a reason, but like falling on his face, he sadly done a poor job of doing so as he only given her the “mind’s excuse” and not answer truly from his heart with the utmost pride or an unshaken will that would let him plant his delicate feet while he said it. Now that he thought about it, the moment it was asked, Xenneth felt his heel lift as if he wanted to leave, but it was inevitable that he would someday be questioned, and the scenario at that moment proved the point:
One could not run away from a truth; Xenneth’s being he did not know what he wanted for himself.
His realization made his head sink as if being swallowed by a common sensual despair that he had long tried to ignore. His blue eyes that sparkled with the morning sunlight had been hidden, and with it, their treasured glow that would appear full of life when he had the strength to hide his depressive thoughts. Standing there before the door as if a statue, he could raise concerns with the fragile appearance of a troubled female because of his features, but he had to reflect upon himself. Taking into mind, he dived deep into his heart, his most precious of memories that set him on this path started from “Day One” where he had wanted to remember his passions…
He stopped! Legs tiring from the drowsy morning awakening, his face changing to take in his appearance to any passerby that would see him; Xenneth knew this was not the place to remember such troubling memories. He had reached his hands out, pressing a palm against the cool glass frame of the shop’s door, he had entered with his back hunching forward to give a press with his lacking upper body strength.
*~Ching Ching!!!*
Classical bell tone that had carried through the air the moment the door had opened with the most slightest of cracks, the women’s pace had changed as one had stood positioned at the desk while others had rushed to the back to pick up the slack. It was a fresh morning, a Saturday to be exact, therefore, not many had walked into Duel Academy’s grounds and buildings expecting to keep their minds curled around a schedule or “rush” that they would usually get because of the consequences of being late. This applied to Xenneth too as he had performed excellent Infirmary Asistance to the point that he had earned his day off.
The others could pick up his slack while he had reached out and taken this day to reflect.
The floor was polished. Clean white squared tiles had aligned themselves one by another leading Xenneth to the front desk. His eyes had roamed around the shop, but only for a little while as he found himself drawn to the appearance of the cards. Each of forms were new, some assorted separately and others in the most shiniest of foil packaging and labeled with the respective capitals of the school’s title giving their buyers a chance at purchasing a hefty bundle, or a useless pile of card board with printed text that they would not add to their deck. Xenenth did not know what to make of the cards; to him, all of them were of no use seeing how he played, and because of a memory within him, he could not even remove a card without feeling a piercing pain that would not leave until he pushed that single card back.
They stung, they chocked!
His feelings had felt as if his heart was clutched by fingers and breathes short with the tightening of the grip. It was a powerful feeling, all an illusion caused by emotions the moment he would try to remove a card. It was as if from her very grave, his mother was choking him for not having faith in the very deck she had given him upon his youthful days that his eyes with glimmer. Each time he held those pile of cards in his hand, his eyes had that little spark of light, and when he would see the motherly, beautiful hand grasping a rightful deck of its own and the smiling face cast to him, his face would illuminate with pure joy that was brighter than any light.
Why, that’s the heart of youth, was it not?
Those memories flooded back through pain; a funny concept. His lips parting slightly once more as he let out a short sight, he had turned his attention to the face of the smiling young woman who had sat leaning over the counter top. It was unprofessional, not a good norm, but as a peer, he understood one’s rambunctious styles and that of individuals. He had no regret approaching nor did he have any giving a smile that was formed of lies and modesty towards his sadness.
“May I please,” he had spoke slightly as his eyes had strayed away. Shielded and hidden slightly by the lid of his cap, he had sneaked his vision to the nearby “Snack Hub” Menu of the Card Shop: a saving grace for those who passed by not only to formulate their duel decks, but have a small snack or refreshment while they done so. He drew a small breath as his lip rolled with a muse while he thought.
“Uh…a Strawberry Shake, please?”
His reply innocent and coy as ever. He was only fortunate as he slightly hid his face with a lowering of his chin that the young woman did not throw the usual wrench into his day. It usually revolved around one saying, ”Yes, Ma‘am“ ignorantly. Standing there, his eyes going to the figure who disappeared behind the low humming machine, he had let his mind wander while he stood silently letting his eyes wander and impulsively select a seat where he could carry himself to when he finished purchasing his order.
~“Remember who you are.”
His right hand fished into the pockets of his uniform pants when he heard that. His fingers had frozen in place and his eyes had slightly widened. His hand had raised from the opening while his head swung about quickly with his feet turning on the heels as if he was preparing to strike the presence behind him. Now…if only there was someone there.
“Uh…”
It had happened yet again, whispers from the darkness that had spoke only to quickly flock away in silence. His eyes were a perfect twenty, but he had seen nothing. If only someone could see the guardian angel: the tattered bandages hanging off the figure that had thus appeared numerous times over the shoulder of the young boy and whispered with lips of complete silence, but words that echoed throughout his mind freshly. He did not see it, but the words were unmistakable. However, he had been off track.
*SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!!!*
The sound as clear as the chime was at his entry, he had turned to realize the young woman at the counter was holding the white cup and a straw sitting in wait. She had spoken earlier, but he was so wrapped up in the words that had been fresh in mind that he did not hear her. Presenting his Student ID was enough to show he deserved the purchases rightfully free, and with his hand resuming it’s reach into the opening of his right thigh and taking the card and receiving it back after handing it to the young woman, he was free to leave.
“Remember…who you are?”
His voice low and gentle as it constant the words said. He had to sit down for this.
His body had flocked down upon his seat and his cup’s base was placed onto the table. With a punch of the straw to make an opening, he had thought about those words that were said and decided to do the best thing out of consideration; answer them.
Xenneth Hikari was a sixteen year old child with moderate dueling skills, but the wavering heart of a love child. He chronically, but ignorantly, depressed as he walked through the days of life not looking forward to what was to come, not smiling as he advanced nor approach, but just stared into the deep void that was his life ahead and not looking to his side stops of life to know what he wanted. However, he did often look behind him…and sighed. In conclusion, the young Obelisk Blue figure was right, he did not know what he wanted.
One piece of the puzzle was presented, one of truth that he placed at that moment. If only he knew where, and how to search for the others, he would probably feel better. His blue eyes staring towards the full cup his fingers danced upon, and his mind trying not to visit the same place twice, the past, he had simply focused on the future which was too distant that he kept making blind assumptions and guesses at what he could do.
Could he still become a doctor?
Maybe he should drop out of Duel Academy?
Why was it that he was on this path in the first place?
Letting his lips touch the tip of his straw and swallowing the strawberry treat after a slurp, he smiled after a gentle muse of his pressed lips to show his enjoyment.
He felt a little better for the moment; just a little. "Crossing over the endless ocean, let's go out in search! No one can yet find it, a miracle in the world! We just push onward with the feeling of a pounding heart! People who follow their dreams leave footprints behind~"
Arche couldn't help but sing this song to herself as she walked among the halls of duel academy. She was a bit more in high spirits, her bruises quickly covered and the wound on her head shielded by her hair and already healing. Thank goodness, now no one would say she needed to go to the nurse's office and keep her from taking a look around the school. Sure, Hoshi might get worried but it would be better than getting lost and not getting to the classes on time. And they came here to learn some stuff and get away from normal school. Like they'd want to go to one.
As Arche came close to the shop, he simply looked up, noting it carefully. So... this was a card shop. So if they needed to get more cards, this was the place. This could be important... although I've already got my deck and Hoshi has his. Maybe we can edit our deck if we have to. Entering, she heard the chimes ringing as she walked into the place, taking her peek around. Wow... This place is... clean. I hate to know who has to keep this place in such tip top shape.
Maybe... I should try and stay out of detention.
She took a few second to notice the boy sitting there, looking extremely depressed. Like Hoshi after getting beaten up due to some bully until she delivered justice, only without the bruises and other such injuries. Whatever happened to him, it must be hurting him... I doubt just bopping him on the head will work. Might as well see what I can do though, who knows? Maybe I can change his attitude. Ignoring the card shop lady, the ex-boy walked over to Xenneth, sitting across from him. "Hey." she began. "Why the long face? Did your pet die or something?" She noticed that he was relying on a shake to keep his spirits up, feeling a bit worse for him. That must have been bad if he needed help... Did he even have friends?

“Oh?!”
This figure had appeared so suddenly, or rather it was Xenneth’s own straying attention that his guard was let down. To the best of his attention, he started to collect information the moment he had left from his mindful train of thought: a young woman who was a Slifer Red Student. Her posture going unnoticed from her taking a seat so suddenly, but it was nothing of important detail since he had a lacking interest in women as if he lacked the acknowledgement of appeal and pleasantry towards individuals no matter their sex. She seemed to be so “free” in her speech to use some sort of common phrase for those who looked sad, but…
“M-my…pet?”
He was still low on the uptake. His lips left the straw of his shake as his right eye squint trying to comprehend what she meant, or even how did she know he had a pet? Catching up to speed because of his lack of social skills, but his common sense reminding him of the analogy, he perked a sound pipe of his voice in realization and coveted his lips with the clasped fingers of his right hand before lowering them once again in slight embarrassment. “Oh! O-oh, n-no.” he had said soundly trying to correct the young woman, “I-I was just…thinking.”
There was nothing like an unexpected guess: they showed up, they spoke so openly without even asking for a name, and they interrupted something even if it was simply nothing more than a thought in mind. To himself, Xenneth really needed those thoughts as of late seeing he could not possibly comprehend exactly what he wanted now or later all of the sudden. He was suddenly hesitant about his path as mentioned so many times in his thoughts before. Now, It just at him even when he had company letting his head drop in deep thought as if he was drifting into a sound sleep.
“Oh!” his gentle voice piped more with his feminine like appearance giving it an adorable charm, “I‘m sorry, but is there something I can do for you?” he had asked, “If you‘re looking for a Nurse at the moment, then I‘m off duty today. I‘m sorry!” He had smiled happily, even so if weakly, towards the young woman. He doubted she wanted anything with him that was personal, so he had given the charming “tape recorder” message of his duties while he tried to avoid the idle conversation about his current mood.
That was only something he could deal with after all.
Smiling casually; his white Duel Academy shoes clipping in an optimistic manner once or twice before stopping making his smiling façade seeming like a mask that had lost its luster because of the situation, he had closed his eyes with his faux bliss strongly presented towards the young woman. Now Listening to: [Repeat] Chatty Ditz: PMT! (Pardon My Tardy) But I had a bunch of things on top of this: Family Reunion, Doctor‘s office, other late replies, etc, etc. but I‘m done! ^^

Arche just waited as the boy slowly got what she was talking about, a little annoyed. It wasn't that tough to get... Even Hoshi, of all people, got it pretty quickly. Or... did he really have a pet? ...Nah, he was probably just too shocked right now by her sudden interruption of his 'moody time'. The girl was even about to explain what she meant when he suddenly started talking again, saying that everything was fine. Yeah right, she thought to herself, knowing the signs of a person trying to hide their troubles. Hoshi pulled this stunt so many times, it's clear as day. You're wound up about something... I just don't know WHAT. Just having the 'vibe' that something was making the person feel bad wasn't enough to help him but as he tried to push the topic off, she knew that he was hiding something.
Smirking, she just said, "Oh, trust me. If I was worried about that, I'd have gone to a hospital. And if you REALLY want to know when you're needed, come after a fight." He could obviously tell she wasn't a 'girly' girl. She was indeed rough and tumble and self-reliant. As she talked, she raised her hand and brushed at her hair... That freaking brat from before... that injury still hurts. And if he's a nurse, he'll probably drag me off and get me 'treated'. No thanks. I can take care of myself and if Hoshi got wind of it... he'd panic and worry to no end.
She grew a little more serious now after clearing her head of these thoughts, back to business. "But yeah, there's something you can do for me. Two now, actually." She waited for a bit, to see his reaction. If he was relieved by it, then she was 'ignoring' his mental state. If he tensed up, he was afraid he would be asked something specific taht he didn't want to talk about. REally, there was a veritable well of information from reactions and Arche had plenty of experience with Hoshi. So after these seconds, he asked, "What's gotten you all depressed? I saw you like that when I came in here and... well, let's just say I deal with a kid who's given me some experience in knowing when people are feeling depressed." As she talked, the nagging thought of 'this isn't your business' popped up but was quelched by 'shut up, I'll make it my business'. Like she would let this kid, who looked kinda girly, she had to admit, just sit here, depressed, with no one to help him. "And why are you avoiding talking about it? If you do that, it'll just weigh you down."

Her attitude seemed indifferent, way more than that of a normal girl. It made Xenneth want to question gender seeing he of all people knew the mistake of having their gender by first glance. However, the more the conversation had went on, the more he was confused. He thought maybe it was best not to question things; after all, people were like seasons, and by the end of the day, this person may not appear before the young violet haired boy anymore. Thinking this, he had simply shifted in his seat slightly uncomfortable not wanting to think about the idea of a “fight” occurring anywhere since he would have to be the one to tend to it.
His eyes had went to the figure, observant she might had been , he had seemed to not want to talk about his problems. Why would he? That’s why they were called “his problems” and not anyone else’s. This person seemed to obviously be aggressive about approaching the young violet haired boy’s problems, and because of that, he had only felt more concerned as he let his eyes stray once more to the point where they rolled, picked themselves up and settled upon the young man where Xenneth had seemed to show a lukewarm shot of happiness.
“I-I‘m okay…r-really,” he had insisted, “I-I just really needed to think this morning as all. I-I‘m still quite new on campus and things aren‘t very…” He trailed off, blue irises guiding him to the window where white pristine clouds had flowed in a vast blue sky.
“…familiar to me.”
He finished brokenly, somewhat more convincing than his last statement. He did not truly mean that, nor was it conscious, but he was worried about his future and being at this Academy. The only thing that made him unsettled were the people and the aspects that made it so much similar than High School, except more competitive which was something he did not want. He did not want a bunch of enemies or a bunch of faces simply staring at him as if he was nothing but a boy in a yellow suit who was on the side of some dorm just because of his attire. He was a different individual, and he wanted to be seen as that to both other students and the patients he treated.
Most things, no matter how simple they sounded, were easy.

As the boy just seemed to avoid her comment, Arche sighed. This could never be easy, could it? Kids like this one and Hoshi never wanted others to know about their problems. Even though Hoshi had a crying shoulder at any time, he often tried doing things on his own. Maybe he was trying to be strong, who knows? But still, it felt bad when she couldn't help someone get through hard times. Definately for people like Hoshi and possibly this boy. Still, she was just spinning her wheels like this. She would have to ask about it later it seemed. PLus, it would be best to make friends with him first.
So she just sighed, as if tired of needling him like this, saying, "Well, you won't get help from me. I just got here today." After a few second, she paused before saying, "By the way, my name's Arche. What's your name?" She tilted her head, curious. Best to try a different subject for now anyway. PLus, who knows? This might be what he needed anyone; someone to talk to... and... oh, screw it, she knew that she just wanted to talk to him, really. As a friend, in a way.
(that's short? Trust me, mine are shorter than yours)

“Is that so? Hmm…”
His thoughts had ran rabid. They were not those of panic or fear, but rather some curiosity about the young woman seeing she was just about as new as him. She seemed to be tomboyish, not very compatible with Xenneth who was a gentle touch and had a major case of genophobia on one end and androphobia on the other. They both shifted until the scales tilted in favor of which one was scaring him more at the moment: the charm of a woman or perhaps the roughness of a man. Most of the time, he could not stand so close to someone, nor could he move if touched by one or the other; fear and confusion had their effects to paralyze him on the spot around those times when it came be.
His blue eyes had stared out the window with great interest.
He could not describe why, but his gentle smile was true around that moment. This young woman was just different, that’s what he could gather. To him, different was good seeing that he was as different as they come when it came to his feminine appearance and tone of voice. With an index finger running along the right side of his temple after pillowing his head with his palm, he had given a slight tilt to his cap’s lid before revealing more details of his face. His kept purple bangs that peeked from under his cap and the light that hit the red heart shaped tattoo on his cheek had shown more of him as he revealed himself to the light with a bit of a more positive tone than before.
"By the way, my name's Arche. What's your name?"
“My name?” he had asked as if stunned that the young woman wanted to know. It had taken him a while to gather that a girl was asking for his name. His cheeks had flushed slightly pink upon realizing this, and his blue irises once again strayed to make contact. Her tough demeanor and her gender was a combination of two of his phobias in once place, and because of it, it still made him just as shy as one whole one seeing she seemed to lack a “charm” like most cheerful and majestic appearances of girls he had seen thus far. His lips parting, trying to gather strength and form to speak…
“I-It’s Hikari.” he had introduced, “M-My name...it's Xenneth Hikari.”
He had to consider his whole name after last episode; it was obvious that most people had confused him for a young woman upon learning his last name. His lips motioned to slide open while his right hand slid the base of the cup across the table before him. Slipping the red straw between his lips, Xenneth had occupied his mouth with the contents of his shake as his excuse for returning to his quiet demeanor since he did not have the slightest idea how to talk to a person, even that of a young woman unless he was drawn out into doing so from his chronic nervousness. He kept one lesson in mind from living with his auntie and cousin…

Arche just watched as the boy seemed to think, slowly starting to see a bit more of his face. She couldn't comment on the purple hair as she saw it, since she had changed her own hair color from brown to pink. Besides, it didn't look that bad. And when she saw the heart tattoo... alright, that was weird... but... It does look kinda cute. she thought to herself. Maybe I should get one... a temporary tattoo though. Or is that a sticker on his face?
Then as she heard his name, she almost paused, nearly thinking about commenting on it but it wasn't like his name was that weird... Compared to 'Johnathan Mars Hoshi'. It is weird, yeah, but it's not like either of them chose it. Besides, Hoshi sounds cute anyway and Xenneth... Hmm, what's a good nickname for him? So instead, she just said, "That's a nice name. Weird... but nice." Like she was one to talk. She wasn't about to talk about why he looked like a girl when she herself rejected her original gender. Would she have become like this if she didn't face herself? Someone shy and timid like Hoshi? That... scared her... Even if she was reading too much in this. Silently, she asked, "So, you said you were a nurse... right? What do you do all the time when you're not taking care of people?" she said, trying to start a conversation. This wasn't a usual subject she had brought up either. But the ex-boy didn't really mind, trying to figure something out and at least talk.

“Oh! Well…I-I study.”
He was not exactly popular and many people could see why from statements and a glance at him after being in his presence for a while. The young tie-dyed haired young child was not exactly “lively.” He avoided the public like the plague, and on top of that very reserved seeing from his low replies that were as silent as a mouse’s pike. He did not make excellent contact seeing the way he kept letting his sight go to the cup rather than the young woman before him, but that alone was for many reasons as he retained his strength from within and to not delve back into his nervous habits.
Little did he know; it was already too late for that.
Just as quickly as the straw had left his mouth, it had went right back in seeing that he had felt he had to cork himself before he could probably say something silly or not that interesting. He was the worst at these kind of these one sided conversations. They were like fist fights in his case. He could only think of one instance where he tried to be open and free to speak to someone and it was with that of intimidating women, or guys he could stand up to. However, where would you find that common in such a prestigious school other than places he would never approach outside of the safety of his dorm room?
School life was merciless. OOC Notes:Chatty Ditz: Quick reply from the library, standing up at a public computer…so…I’ll reply better when I get home.

Arche just sat there as he talked, noticing he was starting to fidget around a bit... He was really acting nervous; did he not like speaking or something? Or was she seeming scary? Which was stupid, yeah she was probably intimidating, to say the least, but at least she acted nice. Sheesh, it's like walking across a minefield... So as he just stopped, she just said, "So you duel and stuff?" Before he could reply, she said, "This is DUEL Academy, after all."

The mentioning of “Dueling” was not a very comforting statement for Xenneth. Is usually implied that someone wanted to either see his deck through first touch perspective or to duel him altogether. It was usually the second options; people usually jumped to conclusion that just because someone was on the Academy’ staff board that they especially had special dueling skills. Xenneth was definitely not one of those people seeing his skills leaned so heavily towards his Nursing and doctorial skills he possessed.
Hesitant about responding with his honesty, even though involuntarily quick to tell nothing but the truth, his eyes had swept between the red straw of his shake he used to close his mouth by making an excuse by just giving a sound sip, and the young woman who posed him with a quick question. He had not really dueled anyone every since he had arrived upon the island with his duel deck, but that did not mean he did not duel. It just meant less than others.
“Oh, w-well…n-no, umm…I mean….not really.”
His head slightly dropped in shame. He had seemed to make less of a mention of it. Most likely he was not proud or positive about the subject of “dueling.” It was barbaric after all with the holograms rather than simplistic like he knew upon table top with his mother. Even so, he still cringed at the thought of seeing monsters fight, but laughed and smiled happily when his own monsters were using such diverse effects to avoid the “fighting” aspect. It was considered “cute” back then that his mother and auntie had watched his sister do so.
Those were simpler times.

Arche just listened to him, feeling her wrists sting. Although she didn't show any reaction, she thought, Freak... I can't rub them right now. That brat's bruises still hurt and if I try to do anything, this kid across for me might send me to the nurse's office. She tilted her head at his statement, careful not to do it too much since her head injury might get shown. "Huh? So you don't duel much..." She thought that a weird thing... Why come to a place where you learn how to duel better when you couldn't duel yourself?
Since she didn't want to push it too much, considering that it would have only worked for Hoshi since they were friends. Plus, he didn't seem comfortable now. "So, where did you live before comming here?" she began. "Was it nice?"

It was a bothersome concept that haunted people the most; why would he come to the Academy when he did not duel? He had told himself so many times that it was to simply further his education in Nursing while being a good duelist for the sake of keeping his mother’s memory alive. His encounter with the mysterious young woman from Obelisk Blue however had put his mind in a hectic head spin that lasted even now. If he could remember correctly, it was the very reason why he was up and here this morning instead of reporting straight to the Nurse’s office to fulfill an early duty as he planned.
It was Sunday, so most of all, not much would happen today. It would most likely be slow and all that would be required of him would be some minor cleaning duties. His mind going back to the young woman as she had seemed to be pondering the next thought, his stolen glance had strayed away shyly seeing he did not feel too comfortable looking towards her. Tomboyish figures were the most difficult to adjust to being around after all. He had simply let his eyes rest upon the clear window, but they could not stay there hearing the next question.
“Y-yes!” he had said enthusiastically, “Okinawa was nice.”
The thought of his home made him feel so serene, so calm. His mind felt as if it went to dream thinking about the surrounding areas. There was not much city type of activity, and the area was closed. It made him happy to grow up in such an area before finally moving to Tokyo where it was a little more quicker for his pace, but he could not complain. Xenenth loved being in Tokyo, and the area around there had taken a very good liking to the Flower Shop his mother had owned.
Roses were red, Violets were blue…a blissful paradise for the two.
“I-I…moved to Tokyo with my mother to run our Flower Shop later, but it was pretty nice before I attended Duel Academy.” he had exclaimed, skipping over his sob story as quickly as possible. Even if that paradise was there in that memory, it only set him up for more despair if he would dwindle there and remember that was not how things were now. He felt alone, and thinking how fulfilled he was before would not help him the least bit. His eyes traveling across the table, he had kept a weak smile upon his face before looking up to the stranger.
“I-I take it you grew up somewhere locally around Japan as well too, right?” he had asked trying to stimulate the conversation.
It would do well enough for a token of his appreciation for making him bring a smile to his face, no matter how minor.

Arche just smiled as he mentioned living in japan She did too. Hoshi's mom was also from Japan, his dad having decided to move in after meeting her. They were both quick to become friends after meeting... but that was another story. She took a bit to remember everything in a few seconds, helping Hoshi heal from when bullies got to him, he being there to be with her when she became a girl, beating up bullies and protecting him...
As he asked about her living in Japan, she just nodded, saying, "Yeah, I did. That's where I was born." Suddenly, she felt her head pound and mistook it for a headache. Her hand instinctively went to her forehead, rubbing it, and then she just shook her head. Arche then thought, What am I doing?! If this kid finds out I got hurt, he'll drag me to the nurse's office! Think... That's it! Immediately, she said, "Sorry, I have a bit of a headache right now. I took some aspirin but..." She then put her hand back, glancing at it and noticing there was a bit of blood on it. You're kidding me... she thought. Now she had to be careful and what if her hair wasn't' covering the wound as much anymore? And if it was bleeding, what about blood smear? Gah, things had gotten so complicated just because of a mistake! "You mind me asking what life at home was like?" she asked, praying he didn't notice anything.

“Well…”
A weak smile going to true softness, he could not contain himself as much. He could feel reminiscent feelings as if he was no longer sitting in that very Card Shop, but rather in a small café with his sister by his side. The local young bully that befriended him talking up a storm as her rough trash talking outside was rather a free styled speak of her mind making the boy’s little sister laugh while he had followed along with his eyes between the two. Those days were long lost to him, and his smile he had discarded the moment he had come to reality trying to tell the difference between it and those memories.
He was smiling so happily; that making this young woman before him dangerous.
“…home was-”
He stopped in his tracks going to the head of the young woman at the notice of her “headache.” It was not so much as flesh, but something that he dread to see. The red liquid that seeped from her forehead had caused him to draw breath as he had looked up towards the young woman drawing breath. She was obviously bleeding, and tried to covet it, but young Xenneth was not blind. Acting upon the impulse of the sight of the red liquid that filled him with terror, as well as concern, he had raised his voice alerted.
“H-hey!” he had chanted, “Y-y-you‘re hurt!”
Letting his blue eyes go across her forehead, he had seemed to try to examine the wound from where he sat.
