Haruna blinked as she'd looked at her attendance list given to her. she was missing an Obelisk and had two extra Ras and an extra Slifer. It was something that was odd to her. She'd picked up her attendance list, which came with pictures and names of the students in the class. She'd recognized people from the ones that came in. The three people that weren't on the list were the girl who was panting on her way in, the green-haired girl, and the boy who seemed to take a seat in the back of the classroom. She'd promptly sighed and took a whistle out of her desk, blowing it loudly to catch all of the students' attention.
"Hey! Everyone had better move up to the seats up front and I'd better not catch any students lingering in the back of the classroom! All you loners and quiet people should be associating anyways!"
She'd sat against her desk casually and used her eyes to try and pull the students in the back closer. She was a bit irked that kids this day and age seemed to be quiet and not fun. She remembered her days at this academy to be wild and fun. Perhaps it was just a far off memory now. She'd pointed at the words she'd written on the board and looked at the students.
"This is the Deck Construction Class! Those of you who aren't in the right class right now should probably name yourselves! And probably either get comfy in this class or get out and go to the right class!"
Of course, she was referring to the students who weren't on the attendance list. There weren't that many.

Will jumped up at the sound of the whistle. What the hell? This wasn't gym!. Irked himself, Will reluctantly got up and moved. Since he could not be in the back of the class, he settled his revenge with being the back of the group.
And then she demanded he introduce himself.. what was up with her? It was his upbringing that prevented him from lashing back. He stood up once more and bowed.
"Konnichiwa, Nimbus Wiriamu desu. I was just assigned this class this morning." he said, taking his seat. And don't ask me to do anything else, with respect he thought, sighing.

Issy jumped around at the sound of a whistle, returning from inside her mind to be aware, yet again of everything which happened to be around her. The whistle hurt her ears a little bit, and she looked up at the person who had blown it, the person she was now sure was actually the teacher. She needed to find a seat, and as it turned out there where quite a few extra people in the class, who must have turned up when she had been obliviously thinking, without being aware of anything else.
She moved forwards, taking a seat which happened to be almost right in the middle of the class. Now all she really needed to wait for was the class to start, though in the meantime she would be able to look at everyone else who she could see, and think about what she could work out about them.

What the hell was that? Did this turn into some sort of boot camp while I wasn't looking? Matt thought to himself as he looked towards the teacher. His seat was already in the second row in the class, so he was fine, but damn. He suddenly wished he hadn't been so close to that whistle. With his attention turned towards their new apparent drill sergeant, Matt waited for the class to start. This had been one of his favorite classes during his time as a student, but new professors always had a chance to ruin that.
After Matt had listened to the new teacher berate the loners for being loners, he turned his attention to his own deck, which he had placed on the desk area in front of him. Until class actually started, he had nothing better to do besides memorize the teacher's name, which he already had. He heard a few other of the students behind him shuffle to a new seat, as per the professor's orders.

To say that Richard was surprised by the whistle would be a vast understatement. Although he had no experience in a normal classroom type of environment he didn't expect the older student, who by now Richard can confirm was the professor, to make such an act. Needless to say he almost literally jumped out of his skin. Thank goodness i was siting in the back row Not wanting the whistle to be blown again he quickly gathered up his bag and moved to a seat one quite in the front of the class but not in the back of the group ether.

Oh, a tough teacher. How long will this last? Hm, I give it two weeks. Then she'll 'grow' on us and begin to act lighter-hearted. To say Apollo was tired would be an understatement. When you have one eye constantly closed and the other almost constantly open, your sleeping schedule begins to change. He wouldn't know if it was day or night hadn't the sky changed. Then again, who would? He tapped on the desk, he had already sat where she wanted him. Then the whistle blew. His eyes narrowed, but he said nothing.
A person holding authority was a moron. Any person with power can not fully utilize it, that's one of the lessons he had learned. There was almost no possible way this person would prove him wrong. His teacher seemed to be loud...very loud. Which is even louder seeing as how he was only looking with one eye. The whistle stopped ringing in his head. How neccessary. He cleared his throat but said nothing, he just had something stuck in it. Then he did one of the strangest things. He smiled, he laughed. And he didn't just laugh, he laughed loud and made sure he was heard. He stood up as he laughed and took the seat in front of him, a completely unneccessary jesture.
And now the consequence. Go ahead, prove my point. Use me to assert your authority. Allow me to be the kid you pick to hate throughout the year. Fall into my trap, little bug.

Amelia grinned at this little speech from the professor. Also, she made a note that at least Ms. Shizuoka is at least observant enough to notice that there were extra students in the class, and she found the whistle to be a nice touch. And since the teacher did ask, she stood up and calmly stated, "Amelia Force. And I guess I should get comfortable then." She grinned as she settled back down and commented, "The whistle... a nice touch."

Mizuki had jumped and squeaked. She had even forgotten what she had been doing, only that she had been doing something but... oh yeah. Homework. She heard the teacher ask for names and immediately hid her face behind her book. She didn't answer. She was too meek to. All she did was quietly read... and think.
Because for instance, had Nimbus-san not signed up for the class? Because he said his name... and so did Force-san as well. She sighed and shook her head. Why waste class time like this? Oh well... it was giving her time to do her Shadow Sciences studying. She sucked at that class.

As soon as the whistle blew, Craig dropped the book he had been reading and fell out of his seat. He was possibly the most startled person in the class from that. Class hasn't started yet I thought. He had been listening while reading, but the whistle had been unexpected. He got back up into his seat, but stayed in it. He wasn't in the back, but the exact middle.
Besides someone else gave him a reason to stay. The teacher said not to be anti social, and one of the Ra Yellows took a seat near him. However if class was starting soon, he wouldn't start a conversation. He put his book in his pack and folded his hands over his desk. He already had two of his decks out on the desk, unsure if he would need them or not.

Post by Emma Gale on Oct 2, 2009 20:03:53 GMT -5
'Had better? Was that a threat?' That was Emma's first thought when the professor started speaking after she had blown on the whistle. She had always been quite sensitive to those two words, and does not react well at all when it is said by others. After that, she continued with her thoughts, 'And should socialize? What's up with that? Does this professor not accept students with an anti-social personality?'
When her train of thought is finished, however, Emma is more irritated at the professor's attitude more than anything. As a result, she decided to ignore her demands, and stayed where she was, feigning that she didn't hear the first part of the teacher's little speech. She had even thought up an excuse for doing so too, just in case Emma is singled out by Professor Shizuoka later on.
((OOC: Sorry, Emma got authority issues ^^; ))

Leon sighed. Guess he was moving up. He stood up and strode down the center aisle to the third row, sitting down in the very center. He was tall, but he slid forward on his seat so he didn't tower over everyone else so much. Looking around, he noticed some of the students from the other class, however, they probably wouldn't recognize him as he was now, emulating his teacher.

" Very well. Welcome to the class, Mr Nimbus."
Haruna watched as the students took their new seats and took special notice of two particular students, and a special "student." Her previous suspicions of the green-haired maiden before were correct. There was no way she'd forget the name of her employer. And she now knew what her employer looked like. She was attractive, but not enough for Haruna to want to breach the employer/employee boundaries.
The other two students, however, gave her attitude. She'd merely rolled her eyes and picked up a paper, marking everyone who was absent and writing down the names of her new students. She wouldn't acknowledge their problems with authority. It wasn't her job. It was up to the counselors to do that. She'd put away the attendance sheet and sat on her desk, looking out at the students before her. She'd promptly put the whistle away and blinked a few times, as if mentally preparing herself for the road ahead.
"Welcome to the Deck Construction Class. As stated on the board, I am Haruna Shizuoka, the professor for this class. Since you've all probably noticed that I'm not much older than the rest of you, feel free to call me Haruna. Or Haru. Whatever suits your tastes. Moving along, let's start with introductions. Starting with the person on the furthest to my right, state your name for the rest of your classmates and your preferred deck type. I'll even start with my own Deck Type. I'm a fan of Viruses, but with the recent banning of Crush Card Virus, I've turned to Psychics. Now then, go."
(For introduction order, just go with whichever order.)

Did he seriously have to do this? All he wanted was to sit there, listen, learn, and possibly debate a few things until the end of class. What purpose was there to knowing his deck type anyways? At best, people would learn what to use against him later. He held back an annoyed sigh and put on a straight face before speaking.
"Matt Hirama, various deck types." Matt said. Not need to speak more than that. Besides, it was true. He liked to experiment with different deck types, so that by chance he might come across a deck type he liked better than his previous ones.

Ugh. What was with all this socializing? He was only here to sit and learn, so he could go back to training, and this woman made him move closer first, and now she wants him to introduce himself to people he would probably never talk to? Whatever. "Leon DeHay, Student of the Red Dragon. User of Various Decktypes." That was enough of an introduction to him, so he just leaned back again, placing his arms inside the opposite arms of his trench coat.

Post by Marvelo Namaguchi on Oct 5, 2009 23:34:19 GMT -5
The Secrets to life began with one movement and one movement only...... A Step Forward. Marvelo watched as the first two who spoke didn't name any specific types. Having various decks was very effective and suitable but it also unbalanced the duelist. Losing a duel wishing they had used another deck with an alternative strategy. Marvelo simply raised his hand before speaking and began as he lowered it.
"Marvelo Namaguchi," Marvelo stated with confidence. "Stun Variation." Marvelo could fit himself into the category with the above people but his decks were still centered around one theme. Even though the decks themselves were different they developed the same theme overall with just a different approach. Controlling the field was the first step to winning a duel and Stun was the primary deck type to handle this the best.
