Leon yawned, and blinked as a girl sat in front of him, and a guy with shades like his sat next to him. Bored, he simply gave a small two fingered wave to the Ra sitting next to him with the backpack and the sunglasses, then kicked back his chair once more against the backwall of the room, looking up at the ceiling. Marvelo to look over at the new Obelisk. It was a relief to know that he wasn't the only one. Others had come in but just as usual he payed no attention to them as he didn't know them. There were more Ra's than anything but people were unbalanced when it came to the game. Either know things and don't know how to use it in duels. Or are great duelist but don't know anything strict for the game.
"Pretty good," Marvelo replied as he relaxed more into his chair. "Just waiting for this class to hurry up and get started. Name's Marvelo and you are....?" Probably not the best way to ask for someone's name but it would come eventually. They were Obelisk. The strong brotherhood of the Academy. The best of the best built only for the best, however some failures did come up in their ranks.

"Ethan. Nice to meet ya." The boy offered his hand to the other Obelisk as he scanned over the rest of the class.
"Not too many others from our dorm here...makes me wonder if I'm behind already..." Ethan said with a chuckle.

"I-I wouldn't say that..." She murmered to Louis, but oddly enough she didn't blush. She was too busy watching Shizuma walk into the room. She waved at him shyly with a small smile and then looked down at her desk where she decided to sit. Then she looked up in time to see Will flash a smile at her and she looked absolutely startled.
She had never seen him smile.
She looked confused and turned pink a bit as she pushed her fingers together, and then she looked at Louis quietly. "I-I'm just... ambitious." She said, with a bit of a happier tone then before.

"Behind? Whatcha mean by that?" Airi asked as she came up behind Ethan. She grinned wickedly and held out one hand to Marvelo, and the other hand to Ethan. "Put 'er there. Airi Matsuoka, I'm in your house. You'll just never see me around because I think the Obelisk dorm is boring as hell, you know?" Airi said with a grin.

"Settle down, everyone! Amy shouted over the din as class finally got started. Amy took down attendance, noting the three students who were either missing or late...that would have to be addressed soon...
"All right everyone. My name is Professor Amy Morrison. I am glad you all have decided to take this class, but I must warn you that it is not for everyone. The name is fairly misleading; what we will study is more an art than a science, so much is left to be proven or disproven. However...there are things out there that fly in the face of every law we've come up with in the scientific community, so new laws must be made to accept these changes." Amy picked up the stylus and drew on the board, a phrase she knew all too well, both in english and in Japanese.
"When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth."
"Who said it, and how does it relate?" Amy was not going to waste any time with this class, there was a certain level of expectation she figured they could meet, even at a first lesson.

She immediately recalled who had said it. It was quite simple for a bookworm like her. However, she wasn't knowedgeable in Shadow Sciences, so she couldn't tell how it would relate at all...

Louis chuckled as he answered "brilliant choice, Sherlock Holmes." He then straightend in his seat as he continued, "Sherlock Holmes would analyze the evidence and come up with the most logical solution. However the most logical choice isn't always the most sensible. This phrase would relate to this subject is that since we don't have complete facts of this subject we have to think in the abstract. We must be willing to accept all possibilites.

DJ chuckled as he snuck in just before the teacher started to talk, enjoying the quote as it was one of his personal favorites. He always believed that the school should offer a deductive reasoning course since that was one of the main elements of strategizing in duels. Any Sherlock Holmes book could practically be a textbook of that class. He sat down quietly by the door as not to disturb anyone, technically he wasn't late but he was cutting it as close as he possibly could.
The reason for this was because of one thing and one thing only: he piss-poor sense of direction. He had made sure he was ready bright and early today, had all his books, and had plenty of time to get to class, he had just forgotten to allow himself time to get lost as he normally did the first few times towards the beginning of class. He wasn't sure how he felt about this subject but he desperately wanted to make a good impression anyway. He paid close attention as the teacher spoke and nodded affirmatively when he knew the answer.
This was an unfamiliar enviornment but he was still hoping to get to know people and hopefully not be singled out as a troublemaker or oddball, even though he might really be at least one of those things.

Amy was just about to make a tickmakr next to DJ's name but noticed him slip in at the last minute. So he was safe...for the moment. Regardless, she continued.
"Close enough, Kachala. One of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's more famous quotes; the long and short of it is that this class' material may border on the edge between eerie and flat out insane, and beleive me, I know insane very well. However, the examples we will look at defy all the current laws of science. Thus, we must learn and adapt new laws that make sense of the previously unexplained, while still reconciling what has previously been proven." Amy went over the notes in her practiced warm tone, making sure she was on pace for getting done what she wanted.
"Now then..." Amy wenty back to the board and drew three rings, each interlapping the other two. A particularly religeous person would see a disticntive symbolism in the design, but that was not what Amy was going after.
"The basic unifying idea behind everythign we will be discussing is the concept of 'planes'. Who has a guess at what these are?" Amy was looking straight at DJ, as if she was daring him to come up with an answer for sneaking in.

Marvelo chuckled also at Ethan's comment. He had a funny personality. That was good. Things seemed to be going well. Even more so when an Obelisk girl entered. She appeared peppy and openly offered her hand to them. Marvelo looked at the hand and then back up to the girl's face. There were rare moments where he shock people's hands. It was either on business or when he lost a good duel. This on the other hand didn't appear to be either and Marvelo froze thinking of an action.
As if by luck the teacher and began and Marvelo turned back around to pay attention. He apologized for not being able to shake her hand but he was a man of business. Whether he appreciated the class or not he still had to pay attention to pass it.
With the first quote, Marvelo had his sides of arguments to go against it. Whether the impossible and possible were tried, one resorts to reason to make a final answer...therefore the impossible or remains isn't always the necessary truth unless it's based upon clear reason. He was reminded of the tablets. All average stories would lead to the tablets story being truth but based upon reason and evidence it was all fairy tales to fascinate crowds.
When being asked about 'planes', Marvelo's head cocked to the side with confusion. Planes were all different things depending on the subject. A 3-D surrounding or flying device were the casual references. Planes were also perceived as levels. That had to be the only relevance to the subject. He raised his hand and instantly answered.
"Planes refer to levels of thinking," Marvelo stated. "Can we assume that the class will basically push us through these planes of our thinking?" Probably a little nerdy but he was no kid and/or Slifer.

Japanese numbers where so confusing. They weren't anything like the ones back home. She had studied them thoroughly, but still found herself lost. Roxxan stopped in the hall way and looked down to her class schedule, which, thankfully, had been translated to English with a section in Japanese as well. Now, her current task, matching the symbols on her papers to the ones on the doors.
Now, don't think the young Brit couldn't speak Japanese, she could. Roxxan knew her way around a Japanese book too. It was just numbers that where her enemy. The simplest of things became difficult for her. She stopped and looked up to a class, her first class, she took a breath of relief as she opened the door.
'' H-Hello... S-Sorry I'm late.. I-I got lost.. '' she said as she entered the room silently and quickly made her way to a seat behind a boy with black hair and purple eyes. The one she had seen at the museum. It was embarrassing to be the last one to get to class, and she was obviously a foreigner.

Emma walked in as casually as possible, and made a mental note that class has already started. Ah, so she was already late, but there is nothing that can be done about that. Truth be told, there was no excuse for her being late, she just plainly forgot that classes started today. Bowing slightly towards to the person whom she assumed to be the instructor, she said, "My most sincere apologies for being late, will try to avoid that in the near future."
With that, she walked to one of the seats near the back, and straightened her uniform before settling down at a seat that's not near anyone of the students. While that was not her normal approach to people who she doesn't know, it's hardly advantageous to make a big show of it during the first day of classes. After she got settled down, Emma was tempted to say to the teacher, "You may now proceed.", but decided to hold her tongue. She sighed quietly, it was hard to play the polite student in the faces of teachers. Well, at least she can go all out egotistic with her fellow students.

Amy was about to say something when Roxxan spilled into the room and mumbled something about not finding the room. "Well, at least you didn't miss much, and now you know how to get to the classroom. I hope you'll be on time in the future." The woman said in English. She was about to proceed when again she was interrupted, this time by an Obelisk. Amy didn't much care for the slightly arrogant tone, but the girl *was* an Obelisk Blue, they would be questioned if they weren't arrogant; although... Amy made a note to ask this one about her surname, it's possible that laziness may run in the family.
"while this class will require a lot of thought, that wasn't the kind of planes I had in mind. Anyone else care to guess?"

Roxxan looked up silently as the teacher spoke. At least she wasn't yelling at her. When the other girl came in after she did, she sighed. So arrogant. Roxxan didn't like people like that.. Not one bit. Her eyes glanced at the chalkboard with three circles over lapping and the teacher was talking about planes.
She raised her hand silently and began to speak in a silent tone. '' D-don't you mean the planes of reality? Such as the realms we live in? '' She was answering a question, yet asking one at the same time.
