Dueling Rules
1. Make sure to type out your plays in detail. Card names, targets, effects, etc.. should all be made as clear as possible for your opponent. That being said, it is not mandatory to explain a card's effect line for line or type out the effect for your opponent; though you can. If your opponent has never heard of the card or is unfamiliar with it, it is their responsibly to simply look it up, which can be as simple as a Google search.
2. Give your opponent reasonable opportunities to be able to respond to your moves. For example, if your opponent has 2 cards face down and you summon a monster, stop there and post, as your opponent might respond. It is fine if you simply IM your opponent or ask them on the C Box if they have any chains, as long as neither play gets ahead of themselves.
3. It is BOTH players responsibility to list their current field and hand presence as well as their life points at the end of each of their turns.
For example. My turn has ended and underneath my move I will add the following
This is just an example. Anything to this effect will do.
It is not mandatory to list every card that you have in your graveyard or in your removed from play pile, though if that information becomes relevant to the duel, it is public knowledge. If your opponent asks for their contents you cannot refuse.
4. Cheating is frowned upon. Violators will be punished accordingly, but more importantly, NO ONE WANTS TO DUEL A CHEATER. Once you get labeled as one, good luck finding a game.
5. Many of you use a dueling program such as YVD or Duel Monsters Unlimited. If both you and your opponent decide to duel through one of these mediums instead of having a forum duel, that is fine. Just make sure to save the duel log, if its an important duel pertaining to the story line.
6. Tag duels will conform to the following rules and rulings.
