Duelist Legacies OST - Messengers of ChristmasAmy was, for lack of a better word, restless. She had taken care of her class, but there was something missing...something she knew wasn't right about this whole thing. But for knowing something was wrong, she had no clue *what*. So here she was, listening to some new Christmas music, pondering the meaning of it all. Her spirit familiar was out doing...something, she had forgotten what, but both of them had expressed an unspoken desire to be alone... It was just staying in nothingness, waiting for something, anything to happen...

His own project had gone far astray from his desk, and was perhaps the furthest thing from his mind at the time. If anything he was currently gazing at a Christmas card that had been slipped into his mailbox at his home. It was from his sister Braelyn, in which it had five penguins on it working amongst three cut-out stars. 'Laughing all the way...' was what it read on the front, and Alan couldn't help but look at it fondly as he walked towards his office in a lively fashion.
"How nice of them..." He murmered in his quiet British fashion. His feet clicked against the ground as he walked towards the office he owned with a laptop and briefcase in tow. He of course had a class to teach later that day but it wouldn't be for a couple of hours yet. So when he heard Christmas music coming out of an office door that was cracked open, he poked his head in with a little knock on the door, and happened to chance across Amy Morrison behind it.
"Lovely music by the way, if I may comment Miss Morrison." He said cheerfully to her in a polite and brisk fashion. He beamed at her from his 4'0 height, in an uncannily good mood all the while.

Amy half-glanced at the person who had just come in. She thought she recognized the voice...but she couldn't place it. That silently infuriated her, for being a teacher, you would expect her to have a better knack for remembering names and faces without a computer helping her. Still, she doubted it was from her class, so that would mean...
"I worked hard to earn the title of 'Professor', I'd appreciate it if you used it like other students. Now then, what can I help you with?"
Yes, she was out of it, so much so that she didn't recognize the voice of a fellow teacher, assuming the short stature was that of a student. Although since she barely even looked at the person who addressed her, it might be forgivable...maybe.

A little twinkle appeared in his eye, but whether this was from amusement or from sheer rage, there was no way to tell; his face was too neutral. None the less he opened the door all the way to reveal his black suit that he was wearing that day, with his customary red tie and brown shoes. He pushed his pinch-nez up his nose.
"Well alright then Professor, but I warn you, I'm not an average student. However, I'm sure I can learn something about my teaching career from such a great Professor as yourself." He said. Every single little inch of sarcasm he could muster was in his speech and enfixed on his face was a raised eyebrow.
"After all, I'm just a lowly Kaiba Corp employee. A suggestion to you Professor Morrison; don't judge a man by his size, but rather by his figures of speech in order to interpret his age. You seem tired." He commented casually as he came into the room for a little bit.

Amy sat up and almost fell out of her chair. How the hell did she not recognize him? She knew where she had heard the voice before, when she had been part of the hearing with the student that defeated Rubicante...it was pretty stupid of her, to be certain.
"I'm terribly sorry...and yes, I am pretty tired. I don't know why but this weather wreaks havoc on me every year...you'd think I'd have gotten over it." The woman was blushing slightly, mostly from the embarrassment she had just caused herself.
"Again, I apologize for that, I need to pay more attention...anyway, what's going on?"

"Oh not much, I just wanted to remark on what impeccable taste in music you have, that's all." Alan said cheerfully towards her. "At least that was my first intention... but I have to imagine that you have plans for the holidays if you don't enjoy the weather here. I don't feel much of a difference, we have about the same climate as my homeland." said Alan in a chipper tone. He then let out a little chuckle.
"And don't bother yourself on it Miss Morrison... all I ask is a little bit of fun when people mistake my height, that's all. And I certainly got it." Alan commented as he adjusted his equipment. The briefcase was incredibly awkward to hold, although not heavy, and with the laptop on top of it... well never had he wished more for Irou's help then when he had been walking to the car. As it was, Irou had left with his host on vacation... leaving Alan very much alone.
He then chuckled a little as he thought back to what she had remarked. "Must there be something going on to get a social visit from a co-worker?"

"There doesn't have to be...there just usually is." Amy commented with a half chuckle. "With all the fuss with the elemental demons... I think I've had enough excitement for this year, wouldn't you say?" Amy sighed. There had been so much that had gone on with that whole mess...she was sick of it, to be totally honest. Very glad it was over. But that didn't mean she got to relax...oh no. Now she had to get into the nitty gritty stuff, the things that she didn't expect most of her students to even comprehend, much less learn much about...

"Yes, I quite agree." Alan said as he shut the door a little behind him. He winced a little as memories came back, mostly of his own steely heart against the demons and the lack of mercy he had shown them. It wasn't like him at all... and it seemed to have given the impression around the academy that he was some 'badass'... which clearly he wasn't.
"However, that's not the case, fortunately enough." Alan stated as he adjusted his cufflink. "In fact, there hasn't been anything for quite a time now... it worries me."
