Ethan was taking notes, it was kind of weird...but then again, everything about the class was weird. It was part of why he decided to take it...It took some logic, but with that, he could hazard a few guesses...
"I'm just shooting in the dark...but isn't it when one plane sits on top of another? It just sounds like it would make sense..."
It did seem logical, which means it was probably far-fetched enough to be true...but his mind was on other things. The cute cos-player girl in the corner, for example...Every couple minutes, he saw the girl look at him, blush, and turn away. It didn't take a genius to realize she seemed to have some feelings for him, or something along those lines.
"Hey..." Ethan looked at another obelisk, the one who had come in later and had improved on his last answer. "See that girl in the corner, the charmer cosplayer?" He cocked his head towards the corner the girl was sitting in, seemingly oblivious to the conversation. "You seen her before?"

Amy nodded at the Obelisk's assessment.
"That's actually pretty close. Normally the planes are always sliding across each other, like sheets of paper shuffling around. However...there are times where the spot where one plane ends and another begins can get blurry. There have been several sightings of spirits becoming physical in various places, at various times of year. Both the East and West seaboards of the United States, England, even Australia has had its share of spirits crossing over. Of course, the breach in the area around Domino City is the most notable, mainly because it coincides with the Christmas Season. However..." Amy's next question was cut short by a bell, class seemed to have gone by a lot quicker than she would have hoped.
"Homework for next class, Miss?" Amy's spirit seemed to have picked up enough to know that's how things went. Teach up to the bell, give them homework if they hadn't covered everything.
"Thank you Mia...Homework! Make sure you've read through Chapter 7 of the text; We're going to be having review, finals are gonna be here before you know it!" Honestly, she wasn't sure why she bothered trying, no one was gonna hear her, the ones who were intent on passing would check her classroom website and get the information themselves, those who didn't care would goof off. It's just how it worked...speaking of goofing off...
"Spenser? A moment, please?" It was rare for an Obelisk to be failing *any* classes, much less hers. So there had to be something wrong...

Crap...well, he really should have seen this coming, after all he was bombing this class like it was Pearl Harbor. With a sigh, he got to the teacher's desk and just stood there.
"I know, I know...my grade in here is trashed. I'm working on it...it's just that there's been a lot of stuff going on..." Ethan didn't bother trying to speak in Japanese, he knew enough to figure the teacher at least knew English if it wasn't her first language.
"I guess I just need to manage my time better. Anything I missed?"

"Well, at least you understand the problem. Most of the time they don't even know why they're failing. If you put your nose to the grindstone I feel you'll be able to salvage a good grade." Amy said with a smile. Then she noticed one other person who hadn't left, and mentally directed Mia to talk to the girl while Amy continued.
"Seriously, if you need help, ask for it. My door's almost always open..." The professor was about to continue but stopped, thinking about what her partner had silently told her.
"Also, I did notice you and the girl in the corner over there kept looking at each other...she a friend of yours?" This might be a good time for a practical lesson, depending on how willing the fourth wheel in the room was to speak.

"Huh?" Ethan looked back behind him and saw the girl, still in that seat, her face drooping but still visibly red from blush. She really was kinda cute, and given the falling out Ethan had with Roxxan...it couldn't hurt to check her out.
"No, I don't recognize her..."Ethan said, before realizing exactly what he had said. "Okay, I mean I recognize her, she's dressed like Familiar-Possessed - Wynn; I run her as a 1-of in my deck. But I haven't seen her before, I guess that's what you meant. All I know is that she seems pretty shy, and for whatever reason she's been checking me out all class." Where was she going with this? And the girl in the corner...she slowly raised her head, tears welling up in her eyes, her face flooded with a red tint from all the blood rushing through her body. Ethan went up to the girl and put a hand gently around her shoulder.
"Please don't cry...I hate it when I see cute girls crying..." Grabbing a tissue, he offered to the girl, who dried her eyes with it before thanking him softly.
"Th-thank you..." That was all she said, but Ethan somehow knew she wanted to say so much more...there had to be something else she wanted to say. Maybe if he struck up conversation...
"Um...my name's Ethan...what's yours?"

Amy Morrison couldn't help but smile. Where she had asked, this boy had been lucky enough to have a spirit take an interest in him on her own accord.
"I'm Wynn...and can I ask you one thing?" The teacher saw that this was no longer something she needed to be a part of, and so she left the two alone, she was sure they'd have a lot to discuss...
"Looks like it's gonna be an interesting year..."

Ethan froze. Was she serious? Did that mean this girl was a...he looked around to ask Prof. Morrison a question, only to see they were alone.
He couldn't help but chuckle a bit. His parents worked at the Wynn hotel and Casino in Vegas, it's why he ran a copy of the card in his deck. But he never would have expected something like this...
"I'll see what I can do...what do you want?" Ethan asked, still not sure what to make of the whole thing before Wynn wrapped her arms around him.
"Please...don't ever leave me alone...please..."
Ethan sat up and sighed. Was this how things were gonna be? Was this the start of one of those something-for-nothing schemes he had seen so many bad guys try on TV, only to get caught at the last minute?
Ah...let's be real here. Ethan Spenser had already witnessed stuff that would make most people take a 1-way trip to the loony bin. Surely...if this was the biggest shock he was gonna get this semester, a partner in spirit, someone who wanted to be around him, because of who he was...he could live with that.
"Sure thing Wynn...I'll be with you for however long you want..." Ethan whispered into the sniffling girl's ear, trying to console the girl, make her feel better about the whole thing.
"Now, let's go...the future's waiting!"
