For a while, it seemed that David was trapped in a whole different world. A world with no sky nor ground, nothing except for a radiant white void that he floated around weightlessly in. In a way, being in there was almost peaceful. Or at least it would've been if the white-hooded Obelisk hadn't been in such a rage the whole time he was in there. Call it what you will, be it bad sportsmanship or being sore loser, but there was just something incredibly emasculating about being turned into a friggin' piece of women's jewelry! And David just simply wasn't the type to stand for that sort of thing.
As if losing to such an overpowering and humiliating OTK wasn't bad enough already. Damn that Judgment Dragon... He should've seen it coming.
"ALL RIGHT, YA OVERGROWN LIGHTBULB! LET'S SEE YOU DO THAT SHIT AGAIN! COME ON, I DARE YA! MAKE MY DAY, AL PACINO! MAKE MY DAY!" he had been shouting during all of her duels between the Shadow Duelist and the Kaiba Corp. executive. Of course, he had no idea if the Spirit of Light could actually hear him. But then again, it also just felt great to vent in there while he still could. After all, who knew how long he'd be stuck inside of that earring? Better to get the stress out now rather than let it make you go insane later.
He had just finished his red-faced rant when he sat down on the ground (or a spot that passed for it) and stared out at nothing with a particularly sour look on his face. Oddly enough, it seemed that the idea of being trapped for all of eternity inside of an earring wasn't bothering him as much as the idea of losing the duel with Alichino. Put simply, his whole reason for coming to Duel Academy was so that he could help put a stop to the Attribute Spirits and whatever plans for conquest they might've had. He had been one of the few duelists who had been actually aware of the consequences behind the breaking of the Seven Attributes' Tablet, one of the fewer who had the power and the opportunity to actually do something about it. And he had failed.
MISERABLY.[/b]
What good was a duelist who couldn't do what he set out to do?
The only thing that stopped David from even more moping was a particularly bright flash of light that made him lift an arm and shield his eyes. The next thing he knew was that he was sitting in a spot of grass right in front of Duel Academy instead of the white void inside of the earring. He also saw that the girl possessed by the Spirit of Light had also been apparently been freed of the spirit's control, and that she was talking excitedly to a little man who wore a business suit. "Great..." David muttered sourly under his breath as he stood to his feet. "I had to be rescued when it was my job to do the rescuing. Nice job, Frost. Way to suck it up."[/size]
