DJ looked around the city with an impressed look on his face. It wasn't as big as Philly but it was big and it was different. He could easily get lost here, and knowing him he probably would. He came from the suburbs but he had been to the city enough times to not be caught off guard. That being said his terrible sense of direction and worse luck normally got him into trouble of one kind or another.
He quickly passed by some shady-looking people, breaking into a speed-walk to get out of the odd looking part of the city. He wished he had his favorite baseball bat with him for protection, but he doubted he could beat anybody up with it anyway. He hoped no one followed him and breathed a sigh of relief as he got into a better-looking part of town. He hoped off the curb with confidence, happy to be out of that place.
He looked, down, realizing he had just jumped into a puddle. "... damn my luck..." He mumbled and kept on walking with his wet shoes.

Outside of the coffee shop, just past a few onlookers who had stopped and given pause to the showy vehicle parked near the door, lay a gaudy looking white limousine. It was one of Pegasus’s favorite limousines, but since he retired and no longer ran Industrial Illusions, the new president used it, if only to not put it waste. Ilythyia hated such a gaudy looking vessel, but she would rather use it and have people think she was some pretentious hotshot than throw it to the scrap yard, or whatever the company policy was for property that had run its course.
Just next to the rear door stood an impressive looking limousine driver. He had the macaroni earphone in one ear, and his immaculately pressed suit seemed to indicate that he was a pretty high-ranking figure amongst the limousine drivers. His job was solely to wait for the occupancy of the limousine to return from fetching her coffee, at which point he would magnanimously open the door and beckon her back inside. Inside the coffee shop, Ilythyia spent a few extra seconds chatting with one of the other patrons before she couldn’t stall returning to work any longer. After she voiced her goodbyes and left for the car, she couldn’t help but feel the shock from some of the other patrons as they saw the young lady return to her chauffer.
Nearing the car, she saw, in the alleyway near the coffee shop, the figure of a boy running out towards the street, jumping off the curb with grateful enthusiasm…
Only to land in a puddle. His shoes and pants all wet, he went on to curse his luck at the incident. Ilythyia couldn’t help but release a brief chuckle at the moment, and continue his way towards the car. The limousine driver instinctively reached towards the door handle and pulled the car door open. Seeing the inside of her limo, Ilythyia turned away and looked towards the boy again instead of stepping inside. “You know, unless the puddle moved, I don’t think it’s your luck you should be damning.”

DJ had barely noticed the limo in the scheme of things, as he tended to be thick-headed sometimes, especially when he was having a weird day like today and something was bothering him. He looked over to it for a second before looking to the person addressing him, trying to hop out of the puddle and shake his shoes dry. There was nothing quite as unpleasant as trying to walk in wet shoes. He nodded to the attractive woman lightly, trying to shake his normal nervous behavior as easily as he shook off the water.
"I suppose so ma'am, it's just that I couldn't see it too well and the luck that it would be there JUST when I get to a better part of town seems rather unpleasant." He smiled and chuckled lightly, trying to laugh off his foolishness, a feat he couldn't do if George Carlin himself was present. He couldn't help but wonder what such a woman was doing around here, it was indeed a nice part of town but he didn't expect someone who seemed so... extravagant to be around. "I guess I should pay more attention though, point taken." He rubbed the back of his head and chuckled nervously.
More questions ran through his head as he looked over the woman in glances, trying to empty his shoes out from the inside. "Sorry about that ma'am, didn't mean to if I disturbed you." He scraped his shoes on the hot cement to try and dry them further, hopping in place a bit when he felt they were dry enough to test and make sure. "Thanks for the tip though." He smiled brightly.
