Robert, getting out of class on Friday was about to have his first weekend at the Academia. He decided to sit in the courtyard, awaiting a duel. Hopefully he'd make a new friend, and not a second enemy. The thought of failing to help Craig resolve his beef with him was burdensome. Even worse was in the process, he had made become Craig's enemy. Even though tripping Defender was the first part, he still blamed himself. With a sigh, he just sat.

After the most boring classes of the year, which always seemed to either be the first or last classes, Matt walked out of the Academy building. The sun felt great compared to the artificial light within the school. At least outside, he could feel a cool breeze while he was dueling, reading, or whatever. As he walked down the large stone path, Matt noticed Robert Zanrou, the Ra duelist that had lost against Stein's hologram. He looked down, probably because of the lost duel.
"Yo, why so gloomy?" Matt asked as he approached, "Just because you lost against Exodia doesn't mean you're a bad duelist, you know."

Robert, looking at Matt had calmly responded "No, its not the loss of Exodia deck that has me down. Its the fact that my partner, Craig was pissed off. I tried to resolve it by dueling him. He intended to crush me, but I fought back and came victorious. However, I can tell he has labeled me an enemy. Besides, an Exodia Turbo loss is not much to get down about. I mean when one turbos through the deck, what are you going to do?" He had also beaten Emma Gale that week. And with Alfonse, he had witnesses to his duels.

Matt grinned at his attitude towards Exodia. If he had been in Obelisk, Matt would have sworn that Robert was an old student of Vahn Gale. He himself had garnered the same attitude towards Exodia turbos. Once they got going, it was like a virtual train ready to relentlessly crush you. There wasn't much you could do against it unless your deck had some sort of mechanic meant to stop turboing like that. Still, it was sort of depressing that Robert had fallen victim to the ever present Obelisk Oppression, as he dubbed it. He thought for a moment before grabbing his custom duel disk, the Rebellion, from his belt.
"How about a duel then. Win or lose, it's best to have fun and ignore the people who get too serious about the game, right?" Matt asked. He waited for a response, almost certain that the Ra student would accept. He needed a good fun duel, rather than a serious one. That, and Matt had heard from some of the students in his dorm that Robert had beaten some Obelisks lately. If the Ra was good enough to beat an Obelisk student, then he'd be a worthwhile opponent.

Robert, pulling out the Ji Feng MK II from his bag had smiled "I accept your challenge my good sir." Matt seemed like a friendly guy. Win or loss, he could tell he'd have fun with this. He was ready to duel, a good way to end the week of school was with a nice, fun duel.
(IM Duel, Robert Lost)
Laughing, Robert had indeed run into a great opponent. "Good duel my good sir, I hope to play you again." He clearly had fun with his duel, and had found a truly worthy adversary in Matt. Not only that, but he was a nice guy. He then slipped Matt a piece of paper with his cell phone number. "If you ever feel like talking or anything, feel free to call me up." He was clearly happy about the duel.

Matt had enjoyed the duel while it lasted, having found someone who was using something other than Lightsworn or Blackwing. Yet, when he ordered his Dark Armed Dragon to destroy his opponent's face down with his effect, he knew it was the end of the duel. Robert had nothing on his field, and Matt had enough firepower to end the duel in one volley of attacks. After the order, and after Chaos Sorcerer dealt the final blow and the holograms faded, Matt had been approached by the Ra.
"That was a good duel. And it's good to see you're in a a better mood." Matt said as he deactivated the Rebellion and took the paper with the phone number. Normally, he'd refuse a number, but it'd be handy if he was bored and needed a duel. He put the paper in his pocket before hanging his deck and duel disk back onto his belt.
"I'll Keep that in mind. Anyways, I gotta go. I have some business to take care of." Matt said. In truth, he had a date, and he wanted to be both properly dressed and on time. What he didn't realize, though, was that he didn't really have any formal clothing. After giving a quick nod, Matt left the scene. He had a lot to do after the date, after all. Homework, work, and possibly some more duels before more classes started after the weekend. At least that duel had put him in a good mood.
