Her first impression of this teacher is that he is a complete idiot. What is with that spectacle of an entrance scene anyways? Either way, he is in a position of authority, so it would be wise to do what he says. Before she head to her seat though, she took a look at Robert and replied, "You are volunteering, are you? Better make it a good show then."
When Emma finally made it to her seat, she quickly filled out the paper, and prepared to enjoy the duel between the students volunteered while thinking to herself, 'Well, this certainly is going to be quite interesting, especially since I get to see if that Ra Yellow's deck is actually any good.'
((OOC: Here is what she put on the paper, can't find a proper place to put it.
Name: Emma Gale Rank: Obelisk Blue Deck: Sacred Phoenix))

The professor looked at the two, grinning as he motioned them down to the floor.
"Alright, get your decks ready. This is going to make things rather interesting for a start of the class."
He turned and moved behind his desk, rapidly tapping the keyboard with his fingers with such speed it sounded more like a machine gun going off than a series of keystrokes. He motioned for Craig and Robert to move to one side of the room as a basic hologram appeared on the other side. It was human shaped, but with no discerning features, much like a silhouette.
"Seeing as I now have two volunteers, instead of having you two duke it out, I decided it would be good to have you both team up against my friend Blinky here. I have set him to 50% intelligence and skill, just to give you two a warm-up, and he will pick a deck best suited to his abilities and this situation."
He then leaned back in his chair, putting the unlit cigarette in his mouth and grinning. "Like a standard Duel, the two of you will go first, then Blinky will go next. Neither of you is allowed to attack until Blinky makes his move." He then looked to Craig, pointing at him. "Mr. Benedict, you will go first."
The silhouette flickered for a moment, then a Disk appeared on it's arm. Dr. Stein raised his hand into the air, then slashed it downward as a signal to start the Duel.

Craig looked at the Ra Yellow blandly and said, "Defend me." Craig then activated his duel disk and looked at the hologram. It shouldn't be too hard, unless his partner messed up.
"Draw Phase. Standby Phase. Main Phase 1." Craig sounded as if he was reciting a program in his monotone voice. "I summon Alien Warrior." The strong monster stepped onto the field and screeched. It sounded a lot like the Aliens from the Alien and AVP series.
"Next I play Code A Ancient Ruins. Each time an alien is destroyed, this card gains an A-Counter. End Phase. Turn ended."

Narrowing his eyes at Craig, he drew his opening card. An Alien deck? Oh LORD this was going to be painful. "I set one monster and one backfield than end."

The hologram flickered again slightly, then reached down to it's Disk and drew it's starting hand, along with an extra for it's turn. Draw Phase, draw one card. Draw Phase complete. Main Phase 1, Set one monster. Set 3 S/T. Main Phase 1 complete. Skip Battle Phase. Skip Main Phase 2. End Phase complete. On it's field, the monster and 3 cards appeared, then it returned to a stationary position. 1 monster 3 S/T 2 CiH 8000

Now it was interesting. "Draw Phase. Draw card." Craig looked at his new card and was pleased. Hard not to be pleased with this deck. "Standby Phase. Main Phase 1. Battle Phase." Craig skipped right into an attack, relying on his monster's high attack. Alien Warrior shrieked again and ran forward, slashing into a Destiny Hero Defender. It cost Craig 1000 life points, but the knowledge was good enough for him.
"Main Phase 2. End Phase." He was going to hold back so his partner didn't ruin anything.

"Draw!" he exclaimed, drawing his next card. With Defender, he drew, taking his hand to six. Than the opponent had activated two Appropriate. "Use MST to destroy your facedown!" and with that, Forbidden Chalice was taken out. Despite how it would have been better to have taken out one Appropriate, he had a plan. "I flip summon Ojama Blue and activate Ojama Country!" With that, all attacks and defenses were swapped, making Defender weak. "Battle, Ojama Blue, attack Defender!" and with that, Defender was reduced to rubble by the meek Ojama. "I end!"

The hologram flickered for a moment when the Defender was destroyed, then started it's turn. Draw Phase, draw one card. Skip Standby Phase. Main Phase 1, activate Dark World Dealings. Each player draws one card, then discards one card. Blinky drew it's card, then discarded Imperial Iron Wall. Craig and Robert drew, then discarded Vengeful Bog Spirit and Junk Synchron respectively. Two Appropriate activate. Draw four cards for Player Benedict draw. Draw four cards for Player Zanrou draw. Activate Dark World Dealings. Each player draws one card, then discards one card. Yet again, Blinky drew a card, then discarded another Imperial Iron Wall. Craig and Robert drew, then discarded Mysterious Triangle and
Two Appropriate activate. Draw four cards for Player Benedict draw. Draw four cards for Player Zanrou draw. Play Cup of Ace. Coin is flipped. A virtual coin appeared and flipped into the air, landing on tails. Tail's effect activated. Player Zanrou draws two cards. Two Appropriate activate. Draw four cards for Player Zanrou draw. Play Cup of Ace. Coin is flipped. Another virtual coin appeared and flipped into the air, landing on heads. Head's effect activated. Draw two cards. Play Hand Destruction. Each player discards two cards from hand, then draws two cards. After discarding Deep Diver and Chainsaw Insect, Blinky drew two cards. It then reacted when Craig and Robert discarded and drew their cards. Two Appropriate activate. Draw four cards for Player Benedict draw. Draw four cards for Player Zanrou draw. Reveal hand. Five cards appeared in front of the hologram, forming a magic glyph over which the pieces of Exodia sat. The Forbidden One then stepped out of the glyph.
Exodia. Obliterate. The Exodia gathered a magic force in it's hands, then shot it at Craig and Benedict, destroying their cards and reducing their Life Points to zero simultaneously. Duel ended. Program shutting down.
As the digital dust faded, Dr. Stein was sitting relaxing in his chair, smirking slightly.

Robert, shutting down his duel disk was somewhat shocked at the speed of the deck. He should have been more concerned about taking out an appropriate rather than preventing chains. Oh well, what's done is done. He bowed respectfully to Stein-sensei. "Sorry Craig" he said, expecting his anger. And of course, his deck didn't get a chance to do what it did, so he would have to demonstrate in some other way.

Craig wasn't pleased. He looked down on the teacher now. OTKs where one thing Craig looked down on with extreme prejudice. Especially with that advantage of having the deck that had a much higher advantage in a two on one deck. Not to mention the intellect of his partner. Craigs next card after he ended his turn had been Alien Ammonite. If it hadn't been for his opponent he would have gotten Gol'gar and been able to win by returning Appropriate back to the hand each time it was activated.
Craig didn't say anything as he returned to his seat.

As Stein watched both Robert and Craig walk back up to their seats, he leaned forward to rest his elbows on his desk. "Folks, you just now saw what will eventually happen to you in the real world of dueling, if it hasn't already. You will go against a player with unknown skill and an unknown deck that has all your information. So.....let's prevent something like that from happening again, shall we?"Just to be sure, he walked up to Emma and took her paper, not looking at it and placing it on the stack of papers that listed their information. He walked behind the desk and took out what looked to be an aluminum can. He then proceeded.....to drop all the papers into the can. He then walked over to the the window and opened it, lighting up his cigarette and taking a puff off it with pleasure before throwing it in with the papers. After it began to smolder and flame slightly, he tossed the can out the window, closing it behind him. "Now, the class shall really begin." He then raised his hands towards the class as he made his way back to the front of his desk, leaning against it. "Now, look at the people around you. I have you set up in this random sequence because I wanted a nice mix of people for you to duel against. These people directly around you will be your closest friends and your bitter enemies, regardless of rank, age, or gender."He then moved to the board, erasing everything except the seating arrangement, and then wrote down three words, 'Best', 'Good', and 'Bad' in a triangle formation. Above this he wrote 'Types of Duelists', underlining it so that it looked like this: Types of Duelists Best:
Good:
Bad:Putting the piece of chalk down, he turned back to the class. "In the Dueling World, there are three types or ranks of Duelists, much like how there are three ranks here at the Academy. When you look at this list, what Duelists in this world would obtain these ranks? I mean by profession or tournament rankings."

(Note: This occurs before the events of the Watery Depths thread)
Will walked down the halls, late as usual. When was he going to get a watch? Shaking his head, he looked up and squinted his eyes in the light. His sunglasses he gave to Mizuki until her old glasses were fixed, and he also found he didn't need them anymore. Will was dressed normally, in his uniform, his hair combed to the best of his ability, and his eyes almost sparkling like the sea itself.
However, his groomed self was not going to save him from being late... and he stood at the door for a moment.
"Sorry for being late, I lost track of the time,"

Dr. Stein looked over at Will for a moment, then tapped the seating chart on the board with his chalk.
"Find your seat and sit down. First day, I am giving reprieves for lateness."
He then looked at the rest of the class, waiting to see what they would say.

Mizuki's quick advance into the room was... well, needless to say, quite quick. And of course she had her books with her. And of course she was late. But she was looking very stretched already. She merely sat down at her assigned spot as she saw from the spot assignments with no glasses but contacts on and she got straight to work on the class that she missed.
((Sorry, short post... kind of doing stuff.))

The duel had been interesting, if not quick. Jaeger had watched, quiet and amused in his seat. This teacher knew what he was doing, even if the hologram had been the one to actually go through the duel. It had been entertaining, still. And now they were faced with a question from the teacher. Who would fit into the ranks? It was easy enough to answer, though his response might differ from what Doctor Stein wanted.
"The new players, the ones who don't know for sure what they're doing and how to play their cards right, or those who have unbalanced decks that doesn't support the cards they play are 'bad'. The ones weeded out at the beginning. 'Good' would be those who have an idea and balanced decks, duelists who get somewhere in dueling careers. And 'best' is the duelists who have spent time getting their cards to work together and support one another, thinking over every idea to be prepared. They're the top duelists, pros. It's the same anywhere, though. Pro, tournaments, here. There's those who don't know what they're doing compared to others, and then there's those who completely obliterate on the field."
Jaeger didn't care if it was right or wrong. He had answered the question in his own way. If the teacher had a problem with that, then he had a problem with that. It wasn't any skin off of the Slifer's back. He just smiled at their weird teacher. At least he had provided a comment to the question.
