DJ hopped around the forest until he found a good spot. He sighed, settling down and sitting in a fairly clear spot, leaning against a tree. He decided to wear his contacts today and left his glasses back at his dorm. He looked fairly different but it was a little less comfortable than normal. He remembered the last time he donned this look, it was very long ago and much had changed since then. He wanted to put all that happened before he came to the academy behind him but some things were hard to forget. He leaned his head back against the trunk of the tree and let out another loud sigh. He had made a fair start here, but his past still lingered behind him. He hummed a light, sad tune and closed his eyes, bringing his knees to his chest, thinking things over.

If there was one thing that was always interesting, it was the forest. The sounds, the animals, the trees. If it weren't for the fact that he had gotten lost, Jaeger would have found it all the more enjoyable. For now, he was content with trying to figure out how to get back to Duel Academy and to where food would be. It couldn't be that hard. Just pick a path, follow it, and hope it led the right way. In any sense, this was like one giant adventure. It would have been more fun with others, but oh well. Not much he could do about it now.
"I think I passed that tree before," Jaeger mused out loud, pausing to inspect one of the many trees in the area. "Maybe, maybe not. Hello, tree." With a little smile, the boy turned left this time, taking a different route from his continuous right. Who knew where this way would lead? "Maybe I'll come across a giant stone statue of some amazing creature that once roamed the island." It was a joke, a moment of Jaeger trying to relieve the moment with a little far-fetched idea. It was best to keep in good spirits then to think about who was eating his meal.
The path had led him into a clear spot. "Well, who would have guessed this was here." His head craned around the area, eyes running over the trees, and landing on one oddly yellow form. Jaeger paused, blinking, before smiling and laughing. Either someone else had gotten lost, too, or he had found his way home.
He trotted over to the other boy. Though higher in the Academy hierarchy, this other student would help him, right? If not, Jaeger was in for one long night. "Hey!" he greeted with a smile. "Enjoying the scenery?" Small talk. Always the best for opening up conversation.

DJ blinked, looking up, rubbing his eyes as he tried to get used to the sunlight. That was one thing about wearing glasses most of the time, he got used to having his eyes protected and felt weird when they weren't. "Huh? Oh, hey." He gave a faint smile to the new boy. He looked vaguely familiar but he didn't know much more, probably just someone he saw in classes or in the hallway. He shrugged it off and decided to be friendly.
"Yeah, I suppose I am." He chuckled lightly, looking around at the pretty flowers and foiliage the forest had to offer in this clear patch. "My name is DJ by the way." He offered, realizing it would be rude to ask for his name before giving his own, so he just left it out there for now. He sat up a little more, climbing to his knees and letting out another sigh, planning his next move.
"So what brings you around here?" He asked curiously, dusting himself off a little and shrugging. He figured he'd keep up the small talk. Hopefully if he kept it up the weird thoughts he was thinking about the past would eventually fade out of his mind.

Oh, good! Returned conversation! Jaeger smiled more. Whether or not he knew this kid from somewhere meant nothing to him. They were both students at the Academy, so why not talk? There was little else to do here but that and chasing shadows that led you around in big giant circles. Well, at least this kid was friendly enough to respond and keep the talking going.
"DJ, huh?" he echoed. "Cool. My name's Jaeger." DJ. The first name he learned while on this island, and he didn't seem half bad personality-wise. Though, DJ's next question earned a little laugh from the Slifer. Jaeger shifted his weight to one foot, rubbing the back of his neck. "Funny story. I'm kind of lost." Okay, so it was most likely only funny to him.
Now wasn't the time to worry, though. He had company for the moment, and if he had to, Jaeger would pick the wandering up again. It sure did make sure he saw more of the forest than he had first intended. He moved to the side of DJ, pressing his back against the tree and folding his arms behind his head. "What about you? Lost? Or here of your own accord?"
