Recita gave a light giggle at Matt's reaction to her statement of him being popular. Still she couldn't help but noticed it since he did give off that feeling. He's cute, sociable, well mannered, and a pretty smart guy. Whoever he would be interested in genuinely dating would be a lucky girl. "I'm sure you're very popular at school. You could have your own secret fan club and not even know it, though that might be a bit weird."
After that, Matt had asked a bit more about her past but this time where she had stayed before Duel Academy. There wasn't much of a way to answer that without sounding a bit crazy but she'd have to say something sooner or later. "I lived with my sister in the cities until we got separated. After that, I was placed into duel academy. Everything between those events is a bit fuzzy really besides a lot of traveling."

Matt's mind flashed an image of a group of students getting together to discuss and admire him. The thought was unpleasant, but there was little he could do about it outside of hunting them down and forcing them to disband. Doing that would make him appear to be a jerk though, and while he didn't feel like being famous, he didn't want to be seen in a bad light either. These thoughts were short lived as Recita spoke of her own past though.
So she had traveled before arriving in Domino and attending Duel Academy. It did explain the lack of concrete memories about many of the places she had been to, including the Academy. After a while of traveling, perhaps she was just not used to getting too comfortable in one place, and thus didn't remember much from any one place as a result. At least, this is what Matt had thought the reason to be. It seemed reasonable enough, though he wouldn't voice his own thoughts on it in case he was wrong.
"I see..." Matt said. So she had a sister. He hadn't seen any signs of it at the condo, and even if he had, it was far too early to ask about the family or their matters. He couldn't think of anything else to ask at the moment, so he fell silent, reading the list of desserts on the back of his menu.

She nodded as if to affirm something, even though nothing much was said. She didn't miss traveling all that much since she never did feel comfortable on a plane, but there were some perks that she missed as well. Still, Domino was her home now. Nice change of pace.
But as the conversation died down, Recita started to wonder what was going through his head. Was he thinking about her past with all the questions he's asked about it? Or maybe it was something else like the food. He was looking at the menu after all. It was at that point she realized how bad she was at social interations, and started to mentally laugh at herself for thinking so much about such weird things.
Figuring she had to say something to spark the conversation again, she starting saying something off the top of her head. Didn't want this event to be awkward or anything. "So did you get into much trouble the other night when you missed that ferry back?" In actuality she didn't expect him to get in trouble for it at all since duel academy wasn't exactly strict in any respect from what she remembered. On top of that he said he used to train with the assistant headmaster or something so he probably got away with it being the good guy that he is.
