~“The Moon is such a tease sometimes.”
The night was always pleasant.[/size]
The moon had such strange effects on people, that much could not be denied as the big blue eyes had taken to the sky. Feeling elated, maybe even lifted in soul, Xenneth could turn his head slightly letting the lunar light hit his neck as if it was being soothe by gentle fingers; Cold, but gentle, tender fingers. He could not describe it, but it was apparent to him why such nights were known to be “romantic” by many people. He however was not into that sort of the thing, nor could he picture himself ever finding some comfort by the moon for passion.
Rather, it was just a sweet release.
Every time Xenneth had walked into the night like so, the lunar light guided him through the darkness with ease. It was fortune that made the moon be full giving him a full view of the academy’s ground as he made his way around. Everywhere he went was bathed in a silver lining of color until artificial light had bathed the true detail of color that he was trying to get away from. Right now, he did not want to be around people, but rather alone like always seeing its when he got to do his besting thinking. Too many people considered him “strange” anyway as he had such an appearance, so what was the point staying around them if they did not understand him one bit? Those moments, he could not focus on the night, but rather what someone thought about him.
He really did not like that feeling, the thought of someone conveying a thought about him with each glance, being taken by surprise each time he had told them about himself. Not many people were interested in the different people that were in the crowd, Xenneth was not one of those kinds of boys that were a “hunk” nor was he very athletic to begin with. When they said he had the body strength of a frail girl, no matter how sexist it sounded, they would most likely mean it. It was however a sucker for the more “sentimental” values of life.
Love, friendships, and bonds that transcended time and space; A secret passion he had that made him write in his journal and play Duel Monsters admiring the beauty and spirit of his cards. He did not even prefer the “strong” monsters, but rather the adorable. Some did not understand this sometime, and it was a mistake for KaibaCorp to recognize his deck as “dueling potential” when he clearly held onto cards that a loved one gave to him, a loved one he could not forget as long as he looked at each and every card he had in his arsenal.
The night was young, so why refer to his past as if he was old with regret?
Stroke, tease, play; who knew the night could be such a flirtatious phenomenon to his whim. The calm chill within the air made him blush softly while his thoughts went to the obvious stories he would see on T.V. or read in a book. They were plainly vivid like those cliché stories and romances one would see every time they would change the channel and see the end of a movie that was labeled a “romance” in some way. It was something he was quite fond of. Imagination was all he played around with; dreams that guided him just like any other human being. As said before, he was just one big sucker for the “happy endings.”
Who was to say; maybe that sort of thing would come to him one day, or maybe it was just too much wishful thinking. In reality, he knew everything was earned with hard work, just as he had been doing, and things came to those who waited, just as he waited for so long. Why was everything that followed behind mostly despair? It continued to plague him even now as he stood there firmly within the forest path, the grove of trees shedding light through the leaves overhead that were reached out by long, thick branches that hid the young violet haired boy in the shadows.
He would draw attention like this; he had adverted from the beaten path and into the wilderness of the woods seeing some faint trails and laid grass with twigs that hinted that someone had the same idea as he did. Eventually he had strayed from that path, making one for hiself. There were minor scrapes from the bushes that clipped at this clothing, but it did not cause any major pain up until he finally had reached a rather small clearing, but…it was breathtaking…
“Oh! Oh my…”
He had stopped at the edge of the opening, the final branch clawing at his white and yellow Ra Yellow inverted blazer slung back in place while he stood there in awe. A small circular bed of flowers had sat alone in the center of the minor clearing. The grove of trees reached overhead, but not far enough to touch one another, leaving an uncovered part of the sky that poured in lunar light upon the flower bed below. The colors were not definite because of this, bearing various tints of silver that seemed that was just like all the other colors of the night that was affected by the moon.
The bed of lovely botanicals had attracted him like a moth to a flame; to the edge of the flower bed he advance with his legs simply moving as if he was hypnotized. His big blue eyes that sparkled with the aid of the moonlight had kept staring towards them, looking for any hidden danger. Not a snake or creature in sight amongst the bed, and with that security, he had let his legs give away dropping to his knees. His body tossing forward lowering his head lowly as his violet hair poured from off his head and about his shoulders letting him get a big whiff of the petals.
“They smell so lovely…”
Was this place undisturbed? Has another soul found this place? He was not sure, but unless someone followed him, heard him, then he would have caused this flower patch to be compromised. He was responsible…well, he would be now, but for much more than the discovery, but the protection. The thought making him smile as he sat up on the hind of his legs while placing his hands in his lap and staring towards the bed of flowers.
“It’s decided!” he had said happily, “I’ll watch after this place. It may be a good place to come when I need some peace and quiet.”
He had pressed his lips and his right hand lifted, not silencing the laugh, but making it come out as if it sounded like a giggle. Letting his legs come from under him with weight shifted to his right hand that laid upon the edge of the bed of flowers, he had sat there peacefully simply staring as if he had found a piece of mind exploring the new academy tonight. However, he would have to eventually leave. His first classes would be tomorrow as well as his service in the Nurse’s office, but he had to admit…the moon still looked so lovely tonight.
