Nature was always lovely in its own way. The skies were clear and a few flowers were still out in the autumn winds. Even little birds sung in the almost barren leaved trees. Almost makes someone like Recita regretting not leaving the shadows of her cages early. Keyword: Almost. One would expect someone that wasn't of lower class to not sully such beauty.
And they'd be wrong. There Recita laid on the park bench with her legs propped up across the length of it, one bent and the other straight across, and her head tilted to the side of the backrest. Her actual back was against what was suppose to be the armrest and her arms were drooped on top of her body like they were lifeless. With her soft breathing it was clear she wasn't dead but sound asleep in the park. No kids, no pets, no cards, no magic, why not?
As for what she was wearing, she just had some casual black pants and a pale peach top on that she usually wore in times of good weather. Strands of her long black hair was draped over most of the clothes though so if anything the view of her was slightly different from actuality. However if one knew Recita enough, they'd know the few words that fit her personality- she didn't care.

Why was it that the Academy gave absolutely no means of entertainment? As an Obelisk much was expected but when breaking from that and work someone would beg for the chance to rest. The Main Building was filled with random Slifer's wandering. The Library was full of your Ra's. The Dueling Arena was filled with the Obelisk and everywhere else was just not worth it.
Therefore, Marvelo found himself wandering around the park. Simple. Peaceful. And in some ways an entertaining spot. It was also just a simple time to let things run through your head. Just thinking about the load on him, Marvelo rubbed his temples as he walked. School. Work. Dueling. Graduation. Social Life. Pro-Duelist Life. Things needed to slow down, and quickly.
Continuing to walk, Marvelo noticed a woman on a bench sleep. Probably not sleeping from his view but it was apparent. Having no reason why he stopped he continued to walk again but turned back around. Park. Mid-day. Sleep. Was there something wrong? A small panic of whether he should bother her or not popped into his head. Ignoring it he approached the woman.
With his right hand, he softly nudged her trying to wake her up.
"Excuse miss," Marvelo stated. "Is everything fine?"

“Mmm… hm?” Recita being nudged awake was slightly disheartening to her and she resisted having to wake up but knew it had to be for good reason. That or whoever woke her was an idiot. So as her eyelids split to let the sunlight seep to her eyes, Recita slowly sat up on the bench with her legs was still propped up on the seats. A large exhale was heard as the female glanced over to her present company.
A boy. What’s with her meeting so many boys all of a sudden out of nowhere? Meeting new people and being social was never her strong suit. “Ugh… my head…” she mumbled under her breath as she caught it in her left hand. It was what she gets for sleeping outside on a solid bench that she wasn’t accustom to sleeping on. At first she was going to address the guy but she couldn’t help but express the random skew of pain she had.
But she’d suppress that pain now and go back to the male that had awoken her. She swiped her hand away from her face and through her long strands of hair as she spoke. “I’ll be fine. I just dozed off for awhile is all but thanks for the concern,” she said in a neutral tone of voice. It wasn’t like she wasn’t grateful, it was just how she usually was, kinda distant so to speak. At that point she examined the person before her. Mildly cute but clearly younger than she was and no sense of wanting to cause any harm from what she could tell. “Anyway, was there something I can help you with?” She was assuming that he needed something from her as to wake her for. If not then better for her. Less work.

"I was wondering if you were OK," Marvelo asked. "It's kind of odd to find someone alone in the park around this time. I was just wondering if everything is OK." Marvelo had that feeling of wanting to shoot himself in the foot. Was waking the woman honestly the right thing to do? She didn't seem to happy about it and the last thing he wanted was to be looked down as some creep in the park. But it was too late to think about changing what he had already done.
"My name's Marvelo, an Obelisk in the Duel Academy."
((lol sorry it's short. Don't have much to build on.))

((lol no worries. I dont care much about short posts.))
Oh great. Another academy student here and on top of that obelisk. He didn't seem to have that arrogent demenor most of the others had though so that was a good sign. On top of that he was worried about her, or at least that was what he implied, which was pretty nice. The only thing that had given a decline in her perspective of him was just the fact he felt the need to mention he was an Obelisk at Duel Academy.
However that was just her own personal problem with that so it wasn't as much his fault so she shrugged it off in an attempt to move on. "Ah well I'm Recita, a normal person in Domino. A pleasure." She lied about being normal but obviously she couldn't go around spreading her secrety. Duel Academy drop out was one thing, obelisk drop out was another, but shadow duelist was a whole different story. No point in mentioning any of the three titles. "But anyway, thanks for the concern."

Was mentioning his status as Obelisk a bad thing? Maybe she just wasn't in favor of the different levels at the Academy. Shame. Needless to say, Marvelo was proud of his ranking in the Academy and if someone didn't admire that it was on them. Selfish...maybe. Reasonable...from a perspective. People were set to their own ideas and Marvelo wouldn't even take the time to change that.
The good thing overall is that she appeared to be a nice person and not one of those cranky people. It was good to know that there was still decent people around Domino. Especially with all the mayhem that's occurred in the past. Marvelo folded his arms as he went into thought.
"Excuse me for being rude," Marvelo said straight forward. "But why are you sleeping here of all places? I can understand your choice of territory but a bench? Long day?"

Recita tilted her head slightly in a hint of confusion until she looked around. She remembered she indeed intended to go to the park but... "Oh. I was tired and I found it a wiser choice than sleeping on the ground. Less chance of ants or something crawling on you or a skate board person coming close to running you over." She spoke of those examples as if she had first hand experience. Though it was a long day, she couldn't exactly classify it as the normal definition considering she had done nothing the entire day but burn time.
"What about you? Shouldn't you be at the academy?" she questioned now that she thought about it. Day plus student equals school. Then again she wouldn't have cared and skipped anyway, but this was an obelisk boy. There was probably no school today or something. Or something much more stupid on her part would be it was a weekend.

Either way Marvelo still frowned upon the idea of sleeping on the bench. Her reasons were verifying but the uncomfortable feeling was more of a reason to bring a blanket and lay on the ground. Besides most people slept under a tree or somewhere calm. Would she honestly go somewhere where people casually came around? Well...the bench was kind of in that location.
Suddenly a question was thrown on him. Marvelo simply shrugged as an average answer. He looked off in the distance as if coming up with an excuse.
"I'm allowed more off of campus because I have a job at Kaiba Corp," Marvelo stated. "If not for that I'd probably be at the Academy bored to death. But at least with the job I came across someone entertaining." Marvelo turned back to Recita and offered his hand to shake. This was surprisingly something he'd never done, at least openly.

"Ah Kaiba Corp.," she said softly in an understanding manner. It made as much a sense as any. Duel academy did belong to Kaiba so he was free to break the academy rules and let students miss classes or something. It didn't matter to Recita either way.
Marvelo's extended hand was barely noticable to Recita as it appeared in the corner of her eye. After realizing what was going on, she looked over to give Marvelo her total attention and placed her hand into his in a shake. So she was going to be someone entertaining was she? Perhaps this situation could turn to be entertaining for her as well. She'd let go of his hand as she began to speak once more.
"Thanks for thinking I'd be amusing for some reason?" she questioned it clearly with the tone attached to the statement. Wasn't really sure how to verbally respond to him, but it was something.

((Mood swings...))
Recita raised an eyebrow at the sudden change of disposition that Marvelo held. Perhaps it was to be expected from an obelisk but perhaps not. She figured she’d have to revert back to her snide attitude sooner or later though she didn’t expect to do so, so soon. However, with current company, why not now? It would at least fit the bills. “I don’t consider playing a children’s card game at my age normal. Besides, not all occupations in the area are related to dueling.”
She took note of the glare she received and the tone portrayed. It was almost as if he was at a PMSing stage which was kinda… impossible. She sighed slightly as she decided to situate herself back into a more normal position, pushing herself up off the armrest. Her back was now turned to lean back on the back of the bench and her left arm was positioned vertically to hold her head up. Legs were now crossed as per feminine sitting posture and eyes were closed before she’d continue. Perhaps this would be fun. “And actually sleeping here sort of does. Fresh air and such without the constant distractions of things getting blown up.”

The Secrets to life began with one movement and one movement only...... A Step Forward. "I guess your right," Marvelo replied. He was aware that she had diverted away from answering his question but there was probably a reason behind it. Whether if it was personal or just a bad topic, Marvelo wouldn't push something that didn't need, or want, to be pushed. Watching Recita get comfortable he turned behind him to see the park. Today was overall a decent day to do activity but yet she seemed to enjoy the pleasure of sleep. Even Marvelo couldn't deny that sleep was a blessing to have but the location was still...puzzling.
Turning back he heard Recita finish her replies. Marvelo coughed a laugh as he honestly thought the latter.
"Honestly I find blowing up things a lot more interesting," Marvelo stated. "It adds some...action to boring cities like this. When is the last time something big happened in Domino that didn't have Seto Kaiba after it's name?"

Recita stayed silent with a neutral face on as she watched. This boy puzzled her as he swung between moods much more than anyone she knew. But now that she had gotten back to her reserved state, she couldn't really moodswing back as easily as the boy. Taking no entertainment for this, she glanced away and towards something else.
"That is a good question," she responded with a quieter tone of voice. She really wasnt interested in what was happening in the city though she did know that largescale events mostly had to do with Duel Monsters. What better figure in Domino than that ego inflated guy that likes children's card games so much as to build a school and an amusment park out of it.

The Secrets to life began with one movement and one movement only...... A Step Forward. "Then again," Marvelo stated. "It's all based on personal opinion. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want something like that to happen if I was directly involved."
Marvelo found himself in an awkward position then. The relationship so far between him and Recita hadn't gone in a positive direction. They both simply appeared to just be dealing with the other. Neither really committing with full intentions to be apart of the others conversation. An eyebrow raised as Marvelo looked down at Recita.
She was calm, relaxed, and simple through nature. Something Marvelo was scarred to be the opposite for. Most people would state that they were the same personality wise. Both Marvelo and Recita were the described adjectives but portrayed it in different fashions and to certain extents. Opposites attracted not similarities. Maybe that would explain the tension.
With a lack of words, Marvelo found himself between a decision of leaving or just delaying for Recita to spark an interest. One answer appeared more likely to occur than the other but Marvelo was a risk-taker in the long shot. Therefore he waited.

Recita just sighed at the fact before going quiet again. This conversation wasn't going well. Maybe it was to be expected but the entire thing just seemed… forced. Being naturally shut off from the world, Recita didn't really care all that much about it. It wasn't like she looked down on duelists or dueling, it was just not amusing anymore especially with her past experiences plaguing her. However with Domino being one of the centers of the dueling world, it probably wasn't smart to stay around if she wanted to get away from it.
Back at the situation at hand, she still saw that the boy stayed around even though there was a lack of conversation. Marvelo just ended up on the wrong end of a stick. Well actually it was kind of his fault in Recita's eyes but she'd shrug it off sooner or later. She figured she might as well start something up again but hesitated at wording in case he went mood swinging again. The least she could do was stop herself from saying anything that might be considered... rude per say, but her knowledge of the concept was still overall quite limited. “Um… anything news going on around Domino or the Academy? I don’t keep up with the news anymore.”
