As the boat departed, its passengers walked towards the academy looming ahead of all of them. Among those passengers was a young girl, about her mid-teen years. She'd had a bright smile on her face and a blue blazer over her back. She'd given a toothy grin as the other students continued on towards the academy and she'd stood at the near-edge of the pier, looking at her new school. Her parents couldn't afford it, but as long as she kept up her dueling skills, the scholarship would pay for her attendance here. Yes... It was the dream!
"I'm... I'm here! I'm finally here!!!!"
She'd dropped her bags on the floor and threw her arms up triumphantly as she'd looked towards the sky in a victorious glee. She'd smiled as she'd done a spin on the heel of her foot and promptly stopped gracefully, giggling giddily as she'd picked up her bags and started on her way towards the academy. She needed to register for classes and get a dorm room, but she figured that today was going to be one of those good days that she'd never forget.

Apollo noticed a...very interesting character run out of the boat. He would move a bit to the left to let her run through. "Uh, excuse me miss. Do you need any help?" He smiled a bit. His bandages covered one of his eyes to prevent his 'little friend' from interfering with his mind again. Every time he took off the bandages he would begin to halucinate. His duel disk was taped to his back. "Oh, you must be new. Of course, that would explain the boat. Well do you want a tour of the place?"
Apollo always tried to help people, but he often seemed so cold that others judged him for a loner. He didn't quite know why some people paid more attention to him then others, he wasn't a good duelist and he wasn't by any definition of the word 'cool'. He was wearing a jacket and it was hot out, to this new recruit he would probably seem very weird.

The girl blinked a bit before turning to look at the person who was referring to her. The first thing she saw was the bandage on his eye. She started connecting things together in her mind.
Eye-Bandage. Eye-Patch? Pirate!!!!
She'd squeed a bit as she'd dropped her bags and circled him quickly, running around excitedly as she'd looked over him, giggling and looking at his body. He seemed interesting enough. She'd hopped up and down around him like some sort of rabbit that had coffee. Extra caffeine. Giddily smiling at him, she'd ended up in front of him and was waving her hand frantically, almost as if he was far away and she was trying to get his attention.
"Hi there, Pirate Man! I'd love a tour! But don't you think we should intro ourselves before you pull up the pick-up lines, Mr. Pirate Man, sir~?"

Pirate man? How am I the pirate man? Oh, it must be the bandages. I've never had anyone call me that before. Wait...pick-up lines?! "Erm...I think you may think I'm...nevermind. I'm Apollo Shiyoke. And I'm wearing these bandages for a medical reason, but if you want to call me Mr. Pirate Man, go ahead." Sure, this was a lie. But he would sound crazy if he said why he really wore them.
It's going to be a fun year this year if everyone acts this...happy? Apollo blinked a couple of times. "And what would your name be?" He wasn't sure of the age of the person in front of him, so he would just let her introduce herself and try and guess. He didn't like being curious very much, but he wasn't going to just jump out and ask.

"Apollo... Gotcha~ Like the Greek God~! And me~? My name? My name is Cirno~ Cirno Hanayuki~! Don't ask my why my name isn't Japanese, my parents had this weird thing for video games~!"
Cirno had giggled more and had bowed in front of him and gave him a two finger salute, her eyes glimmering with hope for fun and innocence. She'd picked up her bags and spun around, whistling a strange, random tune as she'd looked back towards the academy with a grin before turning back to him curiously, eying the Duel Disk on his back.
"So, you attend the academy, ne~? We could be classmates~! What kind of deck do you run, Appy~? Just a bit of curiosity on my part because this is Duel Academy, ne~?"
She'd started to slowly open her own bag, keeping her eyes on Apollo as she'd reached into the open space of her belongings and seemed to be looking for something.

"Uh...yeah like the greek god I guess. He and I have similar interests. And it's nice to meet you Cirno Hanayuki." Apollo smiled at her child-like innocence she seemed to have. He wondered how she would deal with some of the non-friendly people of the acadamy. He loosened his bandages a bit, but quickly tightened them again.
"Yeah I attend the acadamy. And I run a skull deck. It's pretty nice." Apollo smiled and showed her the Summoned Skull card. "This is my favorite card and I try to use it whenever I can." He put the Summoned Skull back in his deck. "What deck do you run?" He figured she must be getting it out right now.
"Hm, its cold." Apollo shivered a bit in his jacket but decided to eventually ignore it.

Cirno had looked at the Summoned Skull with a certain interest as she'd blinked while looking at it, appreciating the design of the card and the simple job as a beatdown card. She'd pulled out her Elemental Hero Absolute Zero and showed it to him like he'd showed her Summoned Skull.
"This is my favorite card! You can consider him to be my Ace Monster too! Whenever I get him out, he never fails me!"
That was when she'd heard him say that it was cold and saw him shiver, her lips curling to a smile and a snicker erupted from her throat. She'd done a twirl and put Absolute Zero back into her bag, spinning around like a ballerina and giddily hopping around.
"I LOVE the cold~! In fact, Winter is my favorite season~!"

"You love...the cold? I'm always cold. I could still be cold with layers and layers of clothes." Apollo sighed as he shivered a bit more. The two were strange, he was always cold and she was never cold enough. "I should move into a volcano and you should move to the arctic." He smiled as he showed her a card. "You may like this. It's called the frozen skull." The picture was a skull in the arctic with ice caps over it. "It lets me bring out the summoned skull way early."
He put the skull back into a spare cards pile he had on his left side. His deck was on the right. "Well, why don't we start the tour? Where do you want to go first?" It was a simple question, really. The acadamy was so wide and vast he wouldn't be surprised if she didn't know all of the 'cool' spots, but that was ok.
"If you like the cold I recommend going to the acadamy. My professor's heart is so cold you'd get sick of winter." He smiled.

"Well, I want to dump my stuff, so how about we head to the Obelisk Dorms? I wanna drop this stuff off!"
Cirno smiled as she'd put her bags into her arms and giggled as he'd said the thing about this academy, the volcano thing, and the thing about his professor. He seemed to have a knack for Winter Jokes. Or it could just be because making Cirno giggle just wasn't that hard. Someone could yell out "blue balls" from the opposite side of a room and she'd throw a giggle fit.
"I doubt he could get me to stop hating winter~ After all, it's my thing~!"

"Well I can't really go to the girls dorm room in the obelisk dorm. Uh...I guess you could put your stuff up and just meet me later." Apollo smiled as he sat down on a bench, waiting for Cirno. He got an eye dropper and started to remove his bandage, but lifted his face so nobody could see his eye. He put in the eye drop and closed the bandage. As soon as he closed it, though, Summoned Skull's voice would ring in his head.
"Are you ashamed of me? Are you afraid of me? You must accept me into your life, Apollo. I am the darkness that balances your light. You must open your eyes, both of them! You're only paying attention to one side of the scale, balance yourself!" The voice would fade.

"Well, I need you to lead me there first, silly~!"
Cirno had giggled as she'd motioned for Apollo to get back up and guide her to where the Obelisk dorms were, at least. After all, if she was the one who knew herself most, then she knew that she'd probably have gotten lost carrying all of these bags without any rest and growing more and more exhausted with each step. It was something that she was clearly exaggerating in her head, but seemed to have fun thinking about as well.
"C'mon, Apollo~! Take me there~!"

"I can't go very far to the girls acadamy. It's kind of a rule. I'll get you to the boats but that's it." Apollo walked towards the card shop first. "This is the card shop, it will become your best friend. It's also one of the ways to know you're close to the blue dorms." He kept walking until some boats would be in sight.
"Alright, here we are. These boats should take you to the dorm." Apollo sighed as he would begin to walk away. "See you later I guess."

Cirno blinked a few times as he'd guided her to the boats that led to the Obelisk Blue Girls' Dorm. He'd started walking away and she'd waved to him giggling and putting her things on the boat. She'd noted the location of the card shop for a later date and finished putting her belongings on the boat.
"I'll see ya later then, Appy~! Take care~!"
With that being said, she'd promptly started up the engine and let it roar beneath her, the boat heading in the direction of a large building with a blue roof on top. A smirk curved on her face as she'd giggled. Indeed, she had a feeling she would love being at the academy.
