((Plus 5 points in my book for whoever gets the hymn reference))
"Tue rei ze croa riou tue ze Croa riou ze tue riou rei neu riou ze Va rei ze tue neu tue riou tue croa Riou rei croa riou ze rei va ze rei..."
Granted Recita wasn't one to pay attention to lyrics of a song muchless sing one, this particular tune was one she had kept close to her when she was younger. It was something she learned awhile back but she couldn't remember for her life where. Though most things in life didn't recieve as much as a second thought from her, Recita felt that this was important. Perhaps even a reason she liked the hymn as much as she did.
However she wanted none to witness her singing and as such had sung a few minutes past midnight to make sure no one of importance could be around to listen. Even then she snuck around in the shadows of the pier just in case, something she was good at unfortunately. It was a sort of habit or tradition she kept up with, to sing towards the sea the mystery hymn every few months, hence the sneaking to the pier rather than just stay at home. Besides, it was a clear night so why not?
The cool night air brushed against Recita's pale skin as it carried the tune towards the waters. She stood by some railings to look more casual but it wasn't too effective. With a hand at her heart and eyes closed to the world, she continued. After that, she planned to make her escape from the scene.
"Va neu va rei va neu va ze rei Croa riou croa neu tue rei croa riou ze rei va Rei va neu croa tue rei rei"
((Btw I have an inkling of who can/will get it.))

((You had to see this coming after using the Grand Fonic Hymn. xD))
It was late. By the lack of a watch, a simple glimpse at the large, glowing orb in the sky told Matt it was probably around midnight. Of course, he wasn't great at telling time like that, but it wasn't exactly hard either. He was tired, and he had no idea why he was still in the city this later at night. Oh, right. He had missed the last ferry back to the academy later that day, and was thus stranded on the mainland until tomorrow. This, of course, would most likely mean disciplinary measures, but detention wasn't that bad. It gave him a chance to think up new strategies and such in peace and quiet.
As he wandered the edge of the shoreline, he could feel his eyes getting heavier. He was usually in bed around this time, and if he wasn't, he was usually playing a game, working with his cards, or just staring out the window of his dorm, daydreaming. He wasn't used to being up and about this late, on top of a long jog through the city earlier that day. He was tired, and the expression on his face made that even more obvious.
Yet, as he walked, he could hear something. It sounded like someone singing, but he didn't hear any instruments or anything. All he could hear was the voice, echoing gently across the shoreline. It took a few moments of walking towards the voice to realize it was a hymn. He didn't recognize it, but then again, he wasn't used to hearing such melodies. There was something soothing about the melody, but Matt categorized it as a mixture of his weariness and his mind.
It was long before he came to the docks of the city looking over the ocean. Matt walked through the rowed warehouses until he reached the actual docks. By now, the voice was clear and obviously close by. In the distance, a black blob on the horizon revealed Duel Academy, but Matt's eyes were elsewhere. He could see someone leaning against some rails dead ahead. By the voice, Matt knew she was female, but other than that, he couldn't make out anything through the darkness.
Although normally he would have made it a point to approach carefully, he was too tired to focus on these small details. He approached the young female as he would anyone else, leisurely and, as best as his weariness allowed, in good cheer.
"That was a... beautiful melody." he said as he stopped several feet away. He hadn't wanted to use the word 'beautiful', since it was sort of... out of character, but he couldn't find another word for it.

((XD Well now I do))
Startled into a turn, Recita swung around to face the man that had spoken. Had he been there the whole time listening to her? The few times she decided to drop her guard, these things always happened. Though it was a public place, she didn’t expect to find anyone here with it being so late and all the boats to take people places were closed off. Taking a slightly defensive position, she took a step back but left her hand upon her chest, knowing full well it wouldn’t work as much as many hoped. At least she was aware of the sickos that were on the streets at night.
Upon quick glance however, the guy didn’t seem like someone she should be worried about. Had some nice hair for a guy and looked around her age. On top of that he seemed to be truthful in his words about the hymn, which was a good sign to her. Perhaps a few kind words wouldn’t hurt her and it would be unlikely they’d meet again. With a moderate exhale, Recita nodded slightly but took awhile for her to respond verbally due to a slight lack of oxygen. She took a good look at him, locking eyes before shedding a word of gratitude. “Thank you, though I didn’t expect for anyone to be out so late at night,” she stated. She had expected an explanation to fill her last statement as to fuel her curiosity more so than real information gathering, seeing little benefit in such at the moment.
Normally she wouldn’t have paid anyone any attention, but singing that hymn always put her at ease. At this point, she wouldn’t have minded if it were some student from Duel Academy she was talking to. The one she addressed didn’t seem like a student to her actually but upon closer observation he did seem worn out for some reason. Either he wasn’t used to staying up this late at night or he had exhausted himself trying to catch a ride to the island and failed. Why he’d try to catch a boat was beyond her so she just stayed with the first reasoning. She was interested to know if she was correct.

Matt crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at the female's startled reaction. It was understandable, considering they were the only two out here. The docks were closed for the night and there was an obvious lack of security or burglars in the area. But still, why did everyone act so defensive around him lately? Although, granted, most of his recent actions had called for it. Sneaking up on someone in the middle of the night like he did was bound to cause some concern. After a moment or so, he put his hands in his pockets, although he didn't move any closer.
"Trust me when I say I wouldn't be. I just missed the last ferry back to the island and got stranded on the mainland." he responded. After he spoke, he took the time to examine who he was talking to more. Her hair was obviously the same color as his. In fact, their hair seemed almost the same, with the female's being longer than his own. The only other thing her could tell through the darkness was that she was roughly the same age as he was, and that she was definitely better looking than most of the others around the academy.
"Anyways, I was expecting the same thing. No one is usually at the docks this late at night." Matt said. He hadn't seen the female before. Then again, in a city like Domino, recognizing one stranger out of the massive population was damn near impossible. Still, he hadn't seen her around this part of Domino before. Perhaps she was a traveler or from the other side of the city? Still, he wouldn't ask, seeing as it wasn't his business in the first place.

Oh... so he was a student... great. There was no use trying to slip away now that she was spotted. Well, if she kept her mouth silent about ever being at duel academy before then maybe she could get away without a duel monsters conversation. He didn't seem like the type to talk about things that wasn't especially interesting to the other party. For now, she decided to return the favor of telling him why she was out here as well.
Recita loosened her guard again and dropped her hand to her side. "I found it a good night to come by the pier and watch the moon. Next thing I know, Im singing a hymn as you heard. That's all." Her tone was much more calm than before as she went to lean on the railings closeby. She was convinced enough that she could take care of herself if any trouble arose between the two and that she wasn't going to cause trouble. Besides he seemed like a good enough guy at the moment. "Anyway, theres no use for a student to be hanging around here. You should head back to the city soon or something."

It was a believable enough explanation to Matt, so he decided not to question the female further on why she was out here. Again, it really wasn't any of his business. He blew some hair out of his eyes before looking up at the moon above him. She was right in the fact that it was a clear night out, which was unfortunate for Matt. He'd have a hard time trying to avoid detection from patrols and trying to get to sleep later, once he found a decent spot. He looked back down at the person across from him.
"I generally don't take well to orders, y'know... Besides, it's easier to get to sleep near the shoreline than in an alley or a park. Too much noise in those places." Matt said. This wasn't the first time he had missed the ferry, so he had gotten used to sleeping outside. He usually just considered it a short camping trip. Besides, it gave him a break from hearing other students dueling throughout the night. Honking horns and loud voices in the background were easier to sleep through than roaring monsters and explosions right beneath you, after all.
Matt yawned and looked around. Whoever the female was, she obviously didn't want him around anymore. He could appreciate the fact that she wanted her privacy considering he too chased people away so he could have his own privacy sometimes.
"Well, whatever. I gotta go find a good place to sleep anyways..." he said tiredly. With a wave of his hand, he turned to leave. Perhaps the end of the docks would work. The waves did a good job of lulling someone to sleep, or so he heard.

“It wasn’t an order, I just said you should…” she responded, her voice pretty neutral on the subject. However something did strike her though when he said it was easier to sleep here. There was nothing wrong with it, and actually reminded her of some past living, but he was so… young. But if that were the case and the academy provided housing, why in the world would he come by the city?
When he turned to leave, half of her just said to let it go and close her eyes too it. It wasn’t her problem so she shouldn’t care. However, the academy had made her soft, or so she claimed when she revealed a sign of a kind heart. In an attempt to just let him go she closed her eyes but still ended up calling out to him. “Wait a sec…” Damn her weakness. “Look, I know it’s not any of my business but I just don’t find it right for someone to be sleeping on the streets where some lunatic could get to you.”
She was half torn on what to do at this point. She could offer to let him stay with her for the night but not only would that be awkward, he’d probably just blow her off, say no, and think her crazy. However her history with hanging around dark places in the city at night wasn’t very pleasant and so she just had to at least offer. Being thought of as crazy was better than being negligent. “If you want, you can stay over at my place for the night. I won’t ask again if you say no and even if you do decide to go along with me I won’t bother you if you don’t want me to.”

It felt like he had only walked a few steps before the female behind him called for him to wait. He turned around, ready to inquire as to her sudden change of heart about him taking his leave, but she had begun speaking before he could. Something he did must have hit a soft spot or something, because she was suddenly a lot more sympathetic towards him. Was it because he was going to be sleeping outside? If it was, what she said sounded like a pretty common worry some of his friends made after these little camping trips. He stood in spot as she issued her invitation, his surprise over the announcement not showing due to his weariness.
It took him a few moments to register the invitation in his mind. It wasn't every day that he was invited over to a stranger's house, especially this late at night. Still, it would seem kind of... awkward if he accepted, more so since the two did barely knew each other at all. It was like if Matt had invited Airi to his place earlier that day. It just felt weird. Still, couch or a rug was better than sleeping on the grass or in bushes. Less bugs and ticks, and probably less noise.
"That's a generous offer, considering you don't even know me. I'll accept if you're sure about it. I don't want to have you changing your mind before or when we get there, y'know?" Matt said. This was true, seeing as he had an idea where he could sleep here. If he ended up on the other side of town, he'd have no idea where he could go to sleep, seeing as he was broke and couldn't afford an inn or hotel. It was the reason he was sleeping outside.

Recita sighed as she stood up properly, brushing off her clothes a bit as if there was some dust or dirt on them. In part it was to make herself slightly more presentable in her rather plain black blouse and navy jeans but the other part was just because it was a habit she had when she just got out of leaning. With a few steps away from the pier, she had gotten up to where Matt stood before speaking, her right hand resting on her hip as she did. She didn't really want to speak loudly since letting the whole city know what she was talking about didn't really appeal to her.
"It's fine. My place has enough room and I'm sure you're not one to cause much trouble," she stated softly. At least to her Matt didn't seem like the troublemaker type. She didn't have a problem with letting him stay over for one night and then after that he would have shelter at the academy. Course this meant that he'd know where she lived, but what good would that do for someone?
"We should go before it gets too late. My place isn't too far from here if you're sure you're okay with coming with me." She waited for his response before she'd start walking. If she did start walking and he didn't follow then it would be a hassle to find him again to figure out what was going on. Then again she wasn't a people person so this would be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Well, as long as she was sure, Matt didn't have a problem with it. A bed or couch was better than sleeping on the streets, and the fact that where she lived was close by was a plus. It'd make it easier to sneak onto one of the early bird ferries later that day. Noticing that the female was ready to leave, he approached her new position, though again, remaining a good distance away as to maintain comfort zones. He pulled out his academy PDA and set the alarm on it for dawn. He'd be out before his temporary roommate woke up. He didn't want to overstay his welcome after all.
"I'm ready whenever you are." Matt said. He put the PDA back into his pocket, though he did not remove his hand. Even though he was used to the chilly, sea air at night, his hand was still more comfortable in his pocket. He used his other hand to gesture as he spoke, further indicating that he was ready to go. He stifled a yawn, although the female could probably already tell that he was tired.

Recita’s eyes caught sight of the PDA that the guy took out for that short while. It was quite clear what he was planning to do, and to be honest she’d probably do the same thing in a similar situation. She didn’t say anything after the fact though, simply nodding before departing towards the city. He had to walk, yes, but not too far. Hopefully he wouldn’t keel over before they got there, though it seemed like he had good endurance despite the yawn.
