A morning without work. That was a good life in the eyes of Recita, the actress of modern day… well… day. Though she was scheduled to go to a photo shoot and a scene somewhere in the outskirts of town, she skipped out. Much like how she skipped out of classes those years back in Duel Academy. A classic for someone like her.
She wasn’t that recognized of a social figure so she could easily get away with not wearing disguises. She hated wearing such dreadful things, much rather letting down her long black hair than keeping it hidden. Her legs were covered by dark denim jeans and a black t-shirt had been placed on her shoulders to cover the upper body. It was casual wear for her and she actually preferred it over the formal wear she was forced to wear at work. And when she said work, she meant hanging around at the city instead of doing her job.
Today she chose the café. What’s better than having a cup of tropical storm smoothie while not doing anything? Very little in Recita’s eyes. Luckily for her, the place was having a slow day today which meant a little piece of solitude was given to her for little to nothing in return. She sipped on her drink while sitting back in a single chair alone in the corner of the room. Her eyes drifted from the top of the cup to the brightly lit windowsill nearby. One could find her almost staring through the glass as if she found something of interest in it. A single statement slipped through her lips as a murmur most didn’t hear. “Hmm, it’s bright outside… for now…”

It was the weekend and Shizuma had taken this time to take a boat to return home for the weekend. Walking into the cafe, Shizuma had made his way to the counter and ordered a White Chocolate Mocha. He had left his home today with his Slifer Blazer and a simple outfit. After a few moments, he smiled taking it and made his way through to a seat close to Recita's and sat at the table behind her. "Nothing like a nice cup of coffee to make the day just smooth on by." said Shizuma with a warm smile a little louder than Recita had said hers which he did not hear. He took a sip of his mocha and looked out towards the street around the shop. The streets were bustling...though little did he know about the personality sitting behind him.

Recita heard the voice and heard it well enough. Her days of spying and shadow life didn't go without a sharpened sense of hearing and sight. She didn't care to acknowledge it though nor pay any mind to the person that had taken the liberty to sit nearby out of all the seats in the room. It was a habit of hers to be a bit antisocial, if a bit meant a lot in this world.
However the red jacket he wore had given her nostalgia she noticed it on the person. The days of her school years. It was funny though just because that everything else besides her ditching classes to relax around the school grounds was a blur. She remembered none of the student muchless the staff that was around at the time, granted that that may have been her own fault in that regard. At that point, she realized there wasn't much to reminise about.
Still not changing the fact that Recita ignored him, she took another sip of her smoothie and returned her gaze to the glass. She left the straw in her mouth though just so that she had an excuse not to give anyone a reason to talk to her. Of course she didn't care how it looked to others as long as they didn't point it out as cute.

Shizuma heard the person behind him, and then looked on at Recita. She seemed pretty interesting to say the least. But he seemed a bit nervous to talk to her...she was an older woman to be sure and as he looked at her, he decided that perhaps sitting behind her was a mistake...he couldn't exactly make out much about her besides her beautiful looking hair and her slender looking shoulders.
He always seemed to be a bit off in this area of his life even though he did enjoy life to the fullest. He had learned a lot of things from his parents, his siblings and his spirit friends but he never quite learned everything about relationships. He blinked and looked at the soft reflection the window next to him was giving the view of. She was sipping on her drink...and while it would look kind of cute to him...it would be the worst way possible of starting a conversation...he had seen that too many times when it came to Yaichi and Kamon...oh how those two loved to fight.
However, he did decided to attempt to break the ice somehow and talk to someone...he was feeling a bit restless at the moment. Taking another look at the reflection, he notice the drink in her hand again and decided to start there of all places.
"Hey, miss? What kind of drink is that? It looks good."

A shattering of that moment of solitude in Recita's mind had made her internally groan. Was it that same person that had distracted her before with that red jacket of theirs? Why would they bother to talk to someone like her in the first place? This of all things, interaction with another, is the least of what she wanted. However, she knew how she was suppose to act in this situation. Her experience at Duel academy wasn't a total waste of her time as she would eventually acknowledge later in life. Not now of course but later.
It turned out that it was the person in the red jacket, now learning it belonged to a he. Though it didn't matter either way, now that she had been spoken to it was common courtesy to respond politely even though it wasn't in her nature. She had gotten too soft in this world she thought as she removed the straw and spoke. "The employees here call it a Tropical Storm smoothie."

"Oh, really? Sounds like an interesting drink...I'll have to give it a try sometime." said Shizuma as he then took a drink of his own drink.
It was a nice drink to have as the temperatures lowered around this time of the year. Then again a cool drink wasn't a bad idea in the least. It sounded like an interesting choice of flavors and he couldn't help but want to try one sometime. As he looked at Recita, he smiled and bowed his head in gratitude as he looked at her.
"Thanks for telling me what it is, miss."

She couldn't help but wonder if all this was necessary. All she did was say that it was a smoothie and she's getting a bow and more words she didn't care for. She believed that she'd never truly understand people of today or the next. "Not a big deal."
Taking another drink of her smoothie, her eyes closed briefly in part to calm herself before sighing. Boys will be boys or something like that. Her eyes were still closed and she once again leaned back slightly more than she already was. Well, at least it was better than work.

Taking a breath, Shizuma decided to take a drink and then again try talking to this woman. She seemed to be the quiet type like Irou at this point and it was going to be an interesting look. With a nod he looked back at the lady he was sitting near and wondered if he would get an okay reaction to this.
"So, mind if I asked what brought you here today? Just a drink or are you trying to relax from the day?"

Yes. At least thats what she wanted to say. What exactly was stopping her from saying it? She'd never know. However she can't just be completely honest or give away answers for free. She always required equivalent exchange but maybe vague answers would work for now. "It depends on what you mean. I've come here many times before but I didn't come here for any of those reasons in particular today." Her voice was quite lax as she had given the answer and she indeed had no trouble with her own response. She didn't believe there was a reason to much like she did with most things.

"Really? Well...if you don't mind me asking...why did you come here today?" asked Shizuma curiously as he looked at Recita's reflection.
He sat there holding his coffee in his hand. Shizuma seemed to want to try to conversate with other people but then again, that wasn't always the easiest of things. But as he he did he seemed to be finding it harder and harder to talk to her. But the question was, what would get her coming out of her shell for a bit. Then again, he could be coming off as an idiot to her...and that would make him feel awkward if that was the case.

"How old are you?" she asked suddenly, her chilled eyes now on the boy instead of at the warm light of the sun. There was little to no purpose of the question but it would compensate for answering the question he asked in a blunt manner that she was used to. It slightly surprised her that he had yet to give up because of her demenor like the rest. Typical people did, but then again slifers were more social than the obelisks.

"Umm....well....I"m....uh...." it was at that moment that Shizuma's awkwardness came out in these situations.
It was a sudden transition and it had caught him off guard. Something one of his Samurai would have made him pay for in training. Composing himself as quickly as he could he looked at her eyes, which were definitely easy to look at in spite of the chill in them.
"I'm 16, miss." said Shizuma with a light smile once he had composed himself.

Uneasiness. She sensed it after she had asked the question which made some things clear to her. When he fixed himself again, she learned some other things about him that she may or may not have cared for. "Is that so... well then you shouldn't be calling me miss." She hated when she was addressed with that term. It made her feel old, one of the things that reminded her that she was a human at times.
Then again age was a strange thing to her in general. She never did keep time in the shadows and found little purpose to do so here. But that wasn't the point. "I'm here avoiding other things. Some things more notable to avoid than others." That should have been blunt enough but still vague to give her some form of comfort. Another thing she found strange.

"Well...what should I call you then?" asked Shizuma curiously as he looked at the lady in front of him.
He took a look at her, taking in all he could of her. She seemed like one of those people that were like Irou...calm, collected, quiet...and didn't normally say things unless he felt them worth saying. As he looked at her, she seemed exactly like that right now. Almost as if she were analyzing him...for better or for worse.
"And I guess this place isn't such a bad place to blend in and avoid things...though it's public...the atmosphere here is quite quaint...and one can easily blend in here with the right demeanor." said Shizuma as he remembered something that Irou himself had taught him.

"Perhaps, in an analytical perspective," Recita simply replied with her posture matching her voice. A nonchalant one. She wasn't trying to blend in and wasn't even taking in an analytical perspective about it which might have been surprising for some that knew her personality. Other factors played a part in this one but none that she'd reveal easily.
Recita for the first time in this forced (in her eyes) conversation, she had put down the drink in her hands to the table and folded one arm over her abdomen area while the other hand had slid to the surface of the scalp and ran through half the length of her hair. Something she usually did to get more comfortable. She could tell this might take awhile if he was asking for a name. "I'm known as Recita. A pleasure, I'm sure." The last line she used mainly from her experience as acting. That was how she was taught to greet. And of course she also expected a name in return for her own as that was something the academy taught her if anything.
