Birthdate: December 14

Orientation: Homosexual
Appearance:
Masaru is short for his age at 5'3" tall. He has short dark brown hair that is often unkempt and messy. He has noticeably thick eyebrows and pale green eyes. His entire face makes him appear rather goofy and simian-like.Personality:
Masaru's body is slender and lanky. His arms are extend down past his waist, though his body posture often makes him look like they're long enough to extend down to his knees. His entire body shows a bit of muscle from casual physical activity. His legs are shorter than they should be, which could attribute the most to his small stature. His hands and feet are both slightly misproportioned to his body, appearing slightly larger than normal. In short, it can be said that Masaru could often be mistaken for a real monkey in a comic relief situation.
Masaru wears his emotions on his sleeve. When he's watching a duel or he's dueling himself, he can often become easily impressed with an opponent's moves, complimenting his or her strategies or ace card, depending. He can also get annoyed rather quickly, especially when bullies start insulting his appearance and/or dueling aptitude. There are also times more often than not when Masaru can be easily manipulated by a friend, acquaintance, or even a stranger to the point of coming across to others as being incredibly gullible and stupid.History:
There are, however, somewhat rare occasions where Masaru calls upon his inner focus in a situation and ends up being able to step up his game considerably, making flawless moves and judgment calls that he would not otherwise be able to think of. Even though he's a much better duelist in this state of mind, he hates being forced to get serious, often passing it off as him "being a hardass."
Masaru was born in Tokyo, Japan, in the Shinjuku district. His birth parents had both died in a tragic car accident mere weeks after he was born, though under the care of his aunt and uncle in Nagano at the time, who then adopted him as their own child. Masaru was always outgoing, even as a child. He'd often make huge boasts, such as swimming across the ocean to America and back. He was even stupid enough to attempt to follow through with such boasts, often needing to be rescued by his uncle.Status: Ra Yellow
Getting annoyed with having to rescue Masaru every time he got into some form of unrealistic trouble like being stranded out in the middle of the ocean or caught upside down on a high branch of a tree, he tried getting his son into Duel Monsters. It took a while for him to actually like the card game in favor of his other fun games, but he eventually loved the game and got pretty good at it! It was then that he saw a flyer in the newspaper about Duel Academy. He really wanted to go, so he begged his uncle to help him get in. At first he said no, but he eventually caved with Masaru's aunt coaxing him as well.
He took the exam and traversed to Duel Academy. He didn't know what kinds of new adventures would await him, but he was shaking with excitement!

It was a relatively warm, sunny day a couple hours after classes got out for the day. Masaru could see passers-by walking around and loitering. Ever since he came to the Academy, he hasn't exactly been able to make friends with anyone, but that changes today! His ultimate plan is to make as many friends as he possibly can! There was a metaphorical fire in his eyes as he looked around for potential candidates. Most of 'em looked too generic and boring to be friends with. Suddenly there was a duelist who caught his eye!Additional Information:
In his earnest to get up and run towards them, his foot got caught on the laces of his shoe and he fell over flat on his face, "Ow... that was so not cool..." He got up, brushed himself off, and spat the taste of pavement out of his mouth before proceeding to run after this one duelist who had looked interesting. He didn't really know how to make friends per se, but he was going to try. He ran up in front of the duelist and shouted, "The name's Masaru Wakahisa! Please be friends with me!"
He is meant to be a comic relief character. Someone who will throw out amusing remarks and recieve a lot more remarks in return. Also, he'll be comically unaware of any magical powers that take place during duels, which may or may not add to such comic relief more.
Also, because all the "cool kids" are doing it, I might as well follow suit:
