A man stood in the middle of a small crowd on the street, but he was grinning wildly. Tight black jeans, a red button up shirt, mostly open. His long brown hair was tied back in a pony-tail, and his jade-colored eyes were hidden behind dark sunglasses. A small necklace hung around his neck, a pygmy red rose attached to it.
He was currently juggling a bunch of his most-hated nemesis...oranges. They spun in the air, and a gasp went through the small group of giggling teenage girls as they disappeared in the air with a small Plop! one by one, a small red smoke appearing with each disappearance. He took a small bow and some loose change found its way into the small sack he kept at his feet, as the school-girls walked away, still talking about the performance.
"Don't forget about Rockin' Rhapsados now. I'm here every day!" He called out to them, yawning and stretching. He let his hair loose and reached a hand up to stroke the petals of the magic-instilled pink rose on his necklace. Enchanted to never die by shadow magic...he pondered upon this for but a moment. Wouldn't that mean it was already dead, or banished? He shrugged. Who cared. He looked back around, then picked up some more oranges out of the fruit bag behind him and began juggling again, growling at his hated acting companions. There would have to be much more banishing before he was satisfied with his orange-murdering today...

Marvelo watched from a distance as the show went on. Obviously the guy was a confident flirt. It was kind of funny to watch other people try to make their moves. In the end it all got a funny laugh and a walk away. Playing it off by broadcasting another appearance could lead to some Youtube interest. Who knew where things would go from there....
Standing up from the bench he was sitting on, Marvelo brushed himself off and began to make an approach towards the guy. It was a quick walk but not one that would attract attention. When coming upon the man, a small grin came from Marvelo's face.
"Interesting trick you got there," he said. His purple eyes starred deeply back at the man's. "Even more interesting to see your attempts at meeting girls." Complete sarcasm and Marvelo made it that way. He shoved his hands into his pocket and waited to see how the guy would respond. He had to have talent to produce those red rings but messing with people was more interesting.

Leon blinked as someone else approached, neatly catching all three oranges and setting them down slowly. He looked him up and down for a second, using the time to come up with his own comeback. Nothing came to mind though, and he was bored so he decided he'd just keep playing the game."Oh, and I suppose you're very popular with the ladies yourself, aren't you, Skinny Jeans?"
This kid was like the epitome of making Leon want to cut himself just by looking at him. Dark hair that almost hung past his eyes, a bored look, tight pants...Leon bet if he looked at his arms and wrists there would be scratch marks. He grinned and shoved his hands in his not-so-skinny jeans and leaned back against a crate he was working near, after tilting his sunglasses down slightly so his green eyes showed above them. "Oh, and I suppose you're very popular with the ladies yourself, aren't you, Skinny Jeans?"
Marvelo's gaze dropped down to the ground, his eyes almost appearing to close. Since when was name-calling considered cool, or in that case at least respectable. A complete lack of respect came upon Marvelo as he looked back up. He coughed out a laugh but he quickly dropped to nothing.
"Why be popular?" Marvelo stated. "When talent is already natural from me." A smirk came upon his face as confidence swept through. It wouldn't be too hard to tell that this 'talent' he spoke of was true. He was wearing the proudly known Obelisk Blue Blazer. Looking at the man he could tell that he wasn't in anything, if he went to the Academy at all.
It was amazing how people of this world would only counter back with naive statements of physical appearance when it was...was an appearance. People would look at Marvelo and think him to be an emo Obelisk. Instead he was the same as everyone else, except he remembered his past and wouldn't make the same mistakes. He was cocky. No need to feel embarrassed about it. Just entering the Academy and already an Obelisk Blue. What more was there to look forward too, except the dread of probably going home soon?
Moving a few hairs in front of his face out of the way, Marvelo made sure that all of his eyes could be seen with his smirk. He now looked "Rockin' Rhapsados" up and down, showing himself to not be impressed.
"For future warning," Marvelo said. "You might want to step your game up."

Leon chuckled and grabbed and orange, tossing it into the air a few times, before banishing it, having it disappear. He simply shrugged and smiled. He liked this kid. He was arrogant, but not too much so. Only confidence could spawn that arrogance, and only being good at what he did could spawn that confidence. "Step my game up? My game is exactly where I want it to be."
He laughed quietly, patting his pocket and pointing behind him with a thumb. "I have my show, and I have my deck. I get my tips from the show, and I got a place to sleep in the Slifer Dorm." He didn't really care what Skinny Jeans thought of that. He was an Obelisk, and Leon was a Slifer. Didn't mean he wasn't good, it just meant he was lazy. Partly that, and partly that the Slifer Dorm was right on the beach, where he loved to be."It's Leon." He blinked, then held out his hand, grinning a small smile. "My name that is."

Marvelo looked over the guy. It was glad to know that this guy wasn't a pushover. Probably hardheaded but nothing that wasn't aggravating. What was quite a surprise was for Marvelo to find out that he in fact a Slifer. Could lazy be added as an adjective of this guy, who revealed himself to be Leon? Marvelo's eyes diverted down to the hand that was extended out. A sign of respect...and so soon. He was confident also. Good to know.
"Marvelo," he said taking his hands out of his pocket to shake Leon's hand. Returning his hand to his pocket he looked at the stand around. Not really the best place to really show off talent. "May I ask why do you things here instead of the Academy? It's better to be an Academy entertainer than a street bum." Strict and straight to the point, which would probably come out rude. But it was the facts and the truth hurt at times.

He simply smiled and began unpeeling one of the oranges with his fingernail. With a slight look of disgust, he took a bite of it, grimacing. Sure, he hated oranges. They were like..well, he couldn't think of anything. If he hated something, he just compared it to oranges. However, he had no plans on getting scurvy, similar to a child needing his vegetables, but hating them. "Ugh." He took another bite, not stopping to swallow before he spoke. "Right. The academy is stuffy. I don't really like my act there. I'm doing this for the entertainment for people mainly, I really don't need the money." He growled and made the orange disappear with a plop! and red smoke.

"Right...," Marvelo replied. The Academy was the main center of the town other than Kaiba Crop. Sure he was in the district of it, but more people would prefer to see a duel than to come around and see someone who appeared to be a Street Bum. Marvelo even frowned at the thought. But people lived their lives the way they wanted to.
Watching yet another orange come and go, Marvelo's face crept with curiosity. As if controlled, the red openings just came on command. Where were the oranges going? Did he have control? Was this more than magic? Had magic truly improved far past what his town could show? His suspicions ended as his eyes drifted towards Kaiba Corp. A thought came into his head, and he turned back to Leon. A cunning grin on his face.
"You know it does make more sense to be where the most people are," Marvelo stated. "Whether for money or not, fame only comes through one thing and one place. Just for facts, this isn't the location." Marvelo gave Leon a suggestive glare. His left eye darted towards Kaiba Crop while his other eyes would casually glance over to him.

Leon frowned, it took him a minute to figure it out. He looked over at Kaiba Corp, then back at Marvelo. Only one thing that gets fame around here, hm? Heh. If the kid wanted to duel in front of Kaiba Corp, he guessed he could go for it. But...he frowned. He hadn't dueled since he'd received the shadow charm. Did he turn it on, or would it turn on by itself. He wouldn't shadow duel..that was against his morals. He had nothing against this person...
He shrugged. Leon figured that if it turned bad, he could just call it off somehow."Yeah, sure, kid. Let's go then. And take an orange, they're free."

Almost with a stuck up manner, Marvelo simply turned to Kaiba Corp, hands in pocket, and began to walking towards Kaiba Corp.
"I'll pass," he said continuing to walk. "I wouldn't want to deprive your dorm of another meal."
Upon coming in front of the major business, the number of people dramatically increased. Kaiba was no fool. He placed the main finance of the city exactly where everyone could see it. Looking around he made sure the number of people was suitable. Reaching into the inside of his blazer, he pulled out a deck. Placing it into his duel disk, the duel disk popped into place. The color appropriately matched him as an overall person, but probably not his outfit.
Duel Disk
He looked back for Leon.
"Come on Orange," Marvelo discretely stated just coming up with a name. "I don't have all day for your entertainment."

He chuckled and stretched out his arm, a small modulator on his arm. He pressed a button dramatically, and it swept out into a strange looking duel disc, spiked and bright red. He simply grinned and took a stance, as people started clearing out of the way, instantly recognizing a duel when they saw one."You're going to regret that nickname, Skinny Jeans." Orange. He Fu**ing HATED orange. He growled and placed his deck into his duel disc, grinning wildly.
The duel was to begin, and he drew his cards, looking them over.

Marvelo drew his cards. The perfect hand set up. Two Zombie Master with Plaguespreader just waiting for them next turn. Book of Life and even Assault-Mode Activate. Everything was set. He set the Zombie Master facedown. Set Assault Mode and just wait for everything to come through.
Then the unthinkable happened. The first card coming down on his opponent's field was a Spell Card that spelled doom for his deck. Dimensional Fissure. Above the field a portal to a different dimension appeared ready to suck up all monsters. Summoning D.D. Assailant, Zombie Master was removed. The whole plan and concept ruined just off of one card. Furiously thinking of a solution, Marvelo tried to think of a way that he could get through this without the matter of drawing Heavy Storm. His only other alternative was Bone Crusher who, at this rate, couldn't even hit the grave.
Duel Monsters wasn't a game of luck, but of strategy. Whatever strategy you had would result in whether you lost or not. Zombies are never prepared for being removed from the game. Therefore the strategy was offset and doomed for failure. Marvelo shoved his hand into his duel disk and ended the duel that had barely started. Most would expect a look of anger, embarrassment, or maybe even revenge though the face of Marvelo. Instead all that remained was the same grin that he had given Leon earlier. Everything he needed to know was over.
"Not bad for a Slifer," Marvelo stated. "Of course, I was going easy on you." Mostly the truth. Revealing his next drawn card, Gorz was seen to be drawn. Things would have turned from there as recovery would have been easier. The would be another time where they would battle and then maybe that was when the real fire would be thrown down on the field. Folding his arms he awaited a response from his opponent.

Leon pouted. Well that wasn't very fun. He shrugged, placing the two fissures and smashing ground that was his hand back into his deck. Ah well, duels didn't always last forever. And at least he may have earned a little respect from the Obelisk. "Too bad. I was looking forward to that match. Maybe next time." He grinned and crossed over the small area to offer a hand, the people in the crowd turning to disperse, some looks of disappointment imminent after not getting the duel they wanted.

Again the hand was offered to Marvelo. Eyes all around centering on this one aspect of dueling. The sportsmanship. Would be a casual Obelisk and refuse the handshake? Or be someone to stand out and actually accept it? Marvelo's cold, purple eyes starred down at the hand and then slowly moved back to Leon's eyes. He looked hard at them, trying to really see through Leon. The grin was still proudly on his face. Turning around he looked at the all the people and coughed, walking away.
"Sorry," Marvelo said walking away. "I only shake on duels worth finishing." He shrugged and didn't even think to turn back. It was an incomplete duel. No one would know the outcome, no one would have ever cared. People began to snicker to each other seeing the cocky Obelisk walk back towards the docks. Marvelo's left hand rose to the air and made a peace sign as he walked further away. This year was going to be quite interesting. Or more so, than from where he was. As for now, there was a deck to finish. Apparently, duelist here were actually worth it being played.
"See ya, Orange."

A small glint of laughter flashed in Leon's eyes as he watched him walked away, putting his hand back down to his side. Typical Obby, this guy was. Ah well, it would be fun. They would definitely meet again at some point. "Tch." He just smiled and ran a hand through his hair, after taking the band out that held it in a pony-tail. It flew down to his shoulders and he shook it out lightly, chuckling lightly.
He just turned and walked back to his stand, picking up his small sack of coins. It was a good haul today. So he guessed it was back to the dorm. Looking around, he spread a large tarp over his makeshift stand, under the tarp, opening a shadow-portal and stepping through...
