"This issssssss the life my friends!" of course not speaking to anyone as he lied amongst the shore in nothing but shorts and a tank top as his able-bodied form lied across the sand. Despite the cold temperatures along with the wind chill outside it didn't seem to phase him. Vincent sighed in content believing he was alone, "I wonder how many horneh lasses there are on this Island." he said with a snicker as he stroke his nostrils, "Especially with all the new tail around her." he said while he laughed out deviously stretching slowly before resting within the sand once more. As he shuffled his feet within the sand, the coast flowed quietly. Curling his clothes just as something smacked him in the foot. "Ow! That's some smarts!" he yelped out as a small gem rolled to the side between his legs.
He narrowed his pools of cobalt at the gemstone leaning to sit up as a cold breeze blew it toward him. He pondered at what this could be. a good luck charm? A sign of how beautiful he is? Maybe all these things and more as he immediately laughed grabbing the gem without hesitation. It felt warm inside of his palm. He continued to eye the gem before placing it within his shorts. His eyes flashed a quick lavender before he sighed in a mild comfort. "Interesting.." he said to himself before he began to walk along the shore, the sun setting in the distance.

Continuously Marvelo tossed the little red charm up from his hand and caught it. This gem still fascinated him in a sense. It was small in size and red in color. But just grasping it he felt some sense of power. What was this? A mystery had set face upon the island. It was clouding the minds of everyone. How could something so small appear in mass numbers on the island, overnight, and no one have a clue about it? It was worth looking into. Probably another stunt of Kaiba's. If only he was higher in charge. Maybe he'd get answers faster.
But thus, Marvelo found himself walking the island. Something he was not famous for. His casual hangout was the mountains watching the moon. Calm and secure place, up high from life. It was like looking forward towards something new. Towards something better. Or was it an escape. Either way, it was calming as a result. Plus it gave time for Rallis to stretch her wings and enjoy her freedom in this realm.
Looking forward, Marvelo caught his orb and noticed another Obelisk. There weren't many of them he had become familiar with. Especially after his failure for the island. There had to be time to show his face again. Maybe this would start off a new leaf. He did look new. With bold, yet timid steps, Marvelo began to approach the kid. The first thing that came to his eye was the orb. He had one too. Maybe he had an idea to what it was? Great way to start a conversation.
"Hey!" Marvelo called out hoping to catch the guy's attention. Coming up to him he looked down at the trinket to make sure it was right. "I see you got one too. Do you have any idea what it is? It appears everyone on the island has one."

((^_^ figured i'd join if you two don't mind))
Sakura Mizhu was fairly new to this island, only arriving naught but a few days ago. She had settled into her dorm and was preparing for classes and such, just like any normal student. But it really surprised her when she received a small package this morning.
There had been no name on the package.....no address, except addressed to her. Nothing to determine who it was from or where it had come from. Upon opening the package, Sakura found a small pink sphere on a chain.....a trinket of some kind....it was beautiful! The colors seemed to swirl, as if they had a life of their own, but she paid it no mind. Now who sent this? perhaps a secret admirer? That was quite possible....on her first day alone, she had been swamped by a number of boys who just wanted to help out the new girl.....she had been positive a couple of them might have been eyeing her in some way.
Speaking of boys......
Ahead of her on the beach were two boys....one of them looked familiar. She stared for a moment, trying to remember where she'd seen him.....oh yeah! Her first day, close to this very spot! It was Vince! he'd been one of the ones she'd suspected of eyeing her that day. She smiled and waved, half walking, half jogging towards them. The two seemed to be talking about something......upon drawing closer, she realized they each had a trinket of the same color as the one she wore around her neck. Odd....did it have something to do with being a part of some group?
"Hi guys!" she smiled softly at the two, but mostly kept her eyes on Vince, since she knew him somewhat better. "Did you guys receive a pink trinket too?"

(Not at all hun, go ahead.)
He played with the gem as it lied in his pocket and twirled it between his fingers as he walked with his usual confident stride along the cold sandy shores. No shoes gloves or anything for this windy weather along the chilling coast but a pair of blue shorts and a short sleeve white jacket with a printed version of Judgment Dragon on the back which was his ideal card, with buttons along the sides.
Despite the fact he didn't duel he did watch many other duelists and he seemed to be the only one who used "Lightsworns." As if they were too complicated for other people, or their hearts were too impure for such power, or maybe he was just THAT good. Either way it didn't bother him but he just stroked his muse with this minuscule thought process and smiled as he began muttering and whispering to himself. "Cause he's the best!......Around! no body's ever gonna bring me down cause he's the-" abruptly cut off by multiple hellos at the same time, his eyes short open a bit as he saw his fellow Obelisk Blue. It was one of the rare few he didn't know.
He was also caught off guard by a female in the distance, and realized it was the 'bonnie lass' and waved to her.
The male then approached him, with a small inquiry and Vince began stammering slightly, "Uh, i-it co-co" and just at the same moment the female had come with the same inquiry and he just threw his hands up in the air in a humorous fuss. "I don't know!" he yelled out before laughing, hopefully with them. He then thought to himself about how he received his completely out of coincidence and he just chuckled, while he folded his arms over his bare athletic chest. "Maybe the weather brought over some deep sea jewelery and such?" he said with a very confident tone before looking to the other two looking at their attire and then his he then chuckled slightly to himself.

Marvelo turned to another girl come to their presence. Shoving his hands into his pocket, Marvelo began to enter the "cool guy" mode. It was only natural for him to do it. Listening to her he overheard the exact same question he asked the guy. Marvelo shrugged as Vincent answered with an unsure statement. He sighed. Not even they knew what it was. Overhearing Vincent's joke, Marvelo coughed a laugh but did nothing more. It was quite humorous but he wasn't sure if it was intended to be a joke or not.
Another breeze drifted by. Marvelo pulled out his right hand and fixed his hair back out of his face. It was past due for a haircut. Stranded bangs of brown hair were pushed back behind Marvelo's ears to reveal dull purple eyes. His free hand naturally found it's way back to his pocket. His gear was that of the simple Obelisk gear. His blazer collar held up to help withstand the more current breezes. The jeans he wore were tightly fit but wouldn't be considered "skinny" jeans. Enough of a break though in them to breath and not have his pants in a "highwater" condition.
"It's possible," Marvelo finally answered. His voice returning down to the calm, yet dull tone that it was always had been. A natural sense of sarcasm usual came also but wasn't intended. "But then again people are getting them in different ways. Plus everyone only has one." His eyes drifted down to left hand that held the charm in it. The only thing he could do was shrug and return his hand to his pocket. Looking to both people Marvelo had an instant thought. He did have any idea who these people were. What's left in the dark should come to the light...right?
"By the way," Marvelo said. "The name's Marvelo. Marvelo Namaguchi. Probably heard of me, probably haven't. Who are you guys agains?" Trying to sound polite, but also show some seriousness in his words, Marvelo alternated his eye contact with both of them. Looking into someone's eyes told him everything about them. Whether if they were bold or weak, strong or noble, scared or faux. Actions weren't even needed anymore.

Sakura smiled and gently held her new pendant with one hand as she bowed slightly. "My name is Sakura Mizhu....i just arrived not too long ago." She felt a bit uncomfortable....something here wasn't right, but she couldn't put her finger on it. She wished her brother were here so she could cling to him......
Sighing softly, she turned to look towards the sea. Her trinket had come in a package.....how had theirs come? Marvelo said something about everyone getting theirs differently. Why was everyone getting one? it was pretty, whatever reason she had it.....the rose color seemed to accent her Slifer Red blazer nicely.
"I kinda like it." She said after a while. "It's very beautiful, and the colors blend nicely." Perhaps it was just the headmaster or one of the teachers giving all the students a pretty Christmas gift? Perhaps it was just some hidden benefactor? Who knew? Who cared, really?

Vincent's eyes traced the male and the immediate change in atmosphere, that the male had entered which had Vincent chuckle to himself while closing his eyes and shaking his head. Yet he did not ever give a clue what he may have been laughing at he gave a second nod. "Well they look Exy" he rolled off the tongue, as his accent was a bit more apparent now. He then looked to the female and nodded. "That's right, the sheila's name is Sakura." he whispered to himself with an equally quiet snicker. Not that he forgot her name but he was surprised the two didn't know each other.
He then traced his thoughts on Marv's words on how he obtained so much information but he didn't comment on it, Vincent just folded his arms and sighed quietly. "Root! If everyone's getting one then it can be two things." Despite his childish and even borderline balmy personality he was actually quiet and reserved at such while he closed his eyes and tilted his head downwards. "Either it is a Christmas present from the higher ups, or... It's some kind of invitational." he said slightly opening his eyes to look toward Sakura. His gaze was much more serious than it usually is but held more concern as it drifted to her then Marv. "Your new bonnie lass, so understand that a lot of Dunny rats like to hide in the shadows here." he said sighing after wards closing his eyes once more.
Vincent didn't even realize that he had not given his name out yet as he stood and pondered about all the possibilities. Even if in a few hours he may have forgotten. "In one of the tournaments I've been invited to, everyone who was invited either had a White Rose or a Red rose card. Whoever had them had to duel to collect multiple rose cards, or in another words 'take' the rose cards from the defeated duelist." he said sighing once more as he glanced to the two colleagues to see if they could put the pieces together of where he was going with this. Vincent's face became much more serious as he peeked from under his blond locks to both of them with his sapphire orbs, awaiting an answer.

"Ok cool," Marvelo stated as Sakura spoke. "It's good to meet you." A surprisingly stand just came over Marvelo. He'd been for almost two years and as far as proper introductions had gone, Sakura was the first to actually introduce herself that Marvelo actually cared if he knew their name or not. Everyone else was just a familiar face or continuous run ins for class. Of course he knew of the other girls but as far as introductions had gone they were never properly done, at least like this. Something new happens everyday.
Marvelo turned back to Vincent as he began speaking. Did he have specific accent? It almost caught him off guard. He hadn't met anyone here that had a specific accent. Of course there were Americans but their accent wasn't as disdain as this. It was quite impressive to say the least. A foreign Obelisk with a neat accent. There goes some brownie points.
As he continued to talk Marvelo still remained attentive. Mysteries were starting to pop up in different parts of his life ever since he was here. After actually seeing the duelist taken over by Spirits and then losing to one, he was up to believing anything. Here, the abnormal appeared normal. Things like this never even came to thought back with his father. Then again the life he hadn't wasn't built around imagination but instead the real world. If Kaiba was sending them "Christmas presents" then he had a weird way of showing it. Not even telling people of why we received them. The invitational theory appeared more to make sense. This was Duel Academy. The top notch duelist usually came here, or at least other Academies in the world. But of course, the Japanese always had the better duelist overall.
"The Invitational is probably it," Marvelo stated. "Cool. That means the Headmaster may give us a report on it eventually. Or he'll probably be slick with it and not tell anyone." Marvelo chuckled at the thought. Vahn Gale. He probably didn't know him well enough to talk about him but it was still funny to him that he was Headmaster. Then again, he did have his moments. "That tournament sounds familiar also. I remember hearing about it. If you attended that's quite a honor. It must also explain why you're here. Well...assuming that I'm right."
Turning to Sakura he tried to think of something to say that would make her be more in the conversation. It was hard talking with two people when he didn't truly "know" any of them. But that's how friendships started right? "Just out of curiosity, might I ask what brought you here. To be a better duelist? To get away from home? Or just to come?"

An invitational? Shadows? Strange game rules? What kind of Academy had she gotten herself into? Did her father know of the strange tactics and events here? Probably not.....otherwise he might not have sent her here. Oh well....a bit late for that now. She held the small jewel in the palm of her hand, staring at it while the two boys talked.
Then the one called Marvelo started talking to her, and she almost jumped, as if coming out of a trance. "H-huh? O-Oh! I came here to become better.....I'm not a very strong duelist, you see.....my brother taught me how, and i learned all the rules and essentials before he.........." her voice trailed off into silence. She just couldn't bring herself to say the word. "A-Anyways....now I'm trying to be stronger and better.....because that will make my brother happy....because it will make me happy." She looked down and away from the boys, a sad look dominating her eyes. Her voice was softer than usual with those last couple sentences, as the memory of her brother came to the front of her mind. She flexed her left hand, which held the duel disk on its wrist, reminding herself of the deck she had built in his memory. Yes, she had come here to make herself a better duelist....so she could honor Kyo's memory. And she wouldn't let him down...no matter what it took.

Vince immediately felt as if he gave too much information about himself and began scratching his head. "Well... it wasn't THAT special." he attempted to lighten the load about the whole tourney thing. "Sure there were only a few who was invited to the tourney but they were all rich bastards anyway." he laughed off before he brought his other hand to his head with a faint laughter afterward. He glanced over at Sakura as even Vince could tell that she just threw herself in a pit of sadness. Vincent sighed to himself, 'Always gotta be the hero' he thought to himself in a sarcastic heroic pose as he walked over to Sakura's side and would attempt to gently place his arm around her.
He would attempt to rub her shoulder with his soft hands as the wind picked back up brushing right across his able-bodied form as he sighed quietly to himself. Vincent was too carefree for his own good and he believed in being a spark in anyone's life. "My name is Vincent by the way Marvelo, I had the pleasure of meeting this beaut when she first got here." he said as his sapphire orbs met his but then averted to Sakura's.
"Pff, this bonnie lass isn't here to become a better duelist she already IS a great duelist." he began laughing before he further explained. "Otherwise she wouldn't be on the Island to begin with." he nodded with a warm smile on his face as he would look back down to Sakura. "The Dorms don't mean much, technically Osiris should be the top notch school, seeing how Yugi actually defeated Seto Kaiba." he said with a shrug before averting his eyes to Marvelo for him to follow up on what Vinceent said to aid in Sakura's mood. "Hell maybe we should go have a duel, that'll cheer you guys up!" Vince said adding Marvelo to the mix unintentionally, but Vincent didn't plan on dueling anytime soon. "...but let's go to the Arena" he quickly added as the wind picked up with a great gust, reminding how idiotic it was for Vincent to be wearing beach clothes in the middle of winter.

As Sakura spoke, Marvelo could feel the aura of the whole conversation change. A feeling of depression had come over her. He must have triggered an uncomfortable memory. Vincent, as he revealed his name to be, took immediate action in trying to calm her down. The mere thought of what happened to her brother made Marvelo think about his. Trey...where was he? The last time he remembered seeing his twin was when they were 6. Ten years now. It appeared even people who appeared the heartiest still had painful memories.
"I'm...sorry if I brought up painful memories," Marvelo said as Vincent was still comforting her. Vincent then began to speak with some encouraging words. Motivational to some points but Marvelo didn't know her well enough to actually make a truthful lie. He shook a little as Vincent pierced him with a glare. "Yeah. Only the best do get in. It's only a system of separation. Don't take it to heart."
Then Vincent talked about a duel. Marvelo couldn't help but grin with delight as the word. When was the last time he found himself dueling. Everything had been practice or in the city dueling arena. In fact, he hadn't even dueled anyone on the island yet. It would be fun. The Arena? Even better. That would help the frozen kid get some clothes on. Marvelo waved his head with a smile to avoid from laughing.
"I'm game," Marvelo stated. "But I'd have to go to my dorm first. Gotta get my duel disk and such." Marvelo's hands game to a folded position in front of him. Ideas, strategies, thoughts, moves, and play-by attack attacked his head full on. The fun he could have was started to cloud his head so much he forgot about Sakura again, until his eyes drifted to her. The smile erased from his face as soon as it had come. "You think that'll cheer you up, Sakura."

Sakura tensed as Vince's hands touched her shoulders, and she moved away slightly, but not fully. She crossed her arms in front of her stomach, as if protecting herself, but from what, she didn't really know. After all, he was just trying to be nice. The two were trying to cheer her up, obviously not liking the sad tone in her voice and eyes. Now she regretted letting her feelings overpower her like that....oh well. Not much to be done about it now.
They proposed a duel, and she smiled a bit. "Will it be a three-way duel? Or just one on one?" She asked, immediately intrigued by the idea. "And who will be the two duelists if that is the case?" in a way, she hoped she would be able to duel, regardless. She needed to get better somehow, right? And she wasn't buying their story of 'only the best get in,' but she wasn't about to let them know that. She was a terrible duelist, she knew that....but she silently thanked them for caring enough to try to cheer her up.
