She almost knew the answer before Jame had ever mentioned anything. Of course it was dueling them. The answer to all the problems seemed to be dueling them. The only problem was that they were probably fairly difficult duelists to take down, and no doubt the average individual would lose to them in a match. Many of them likely had access to powerful cards like the Egyptian Gods or Sacred Beasts that would quickly turn the tide of a match. But still, without seeing them first hand, Ilythyia found it difficult for her to feel any sense of foreboding simply by looking at them. In fact, it almost seemed like an unwinding cartoon. Maybe she would feel the danger, the fear, when they were right in front of her, but if they could be faced off in a duel, she felt resolute and confident.
Following Jame’s fingers, Ilythyia surveyed the contraption on the demon’s arm. It seemed like they had the power to simply create a duel disk from their arm, and they were willing to at least entertain the ‘lowly’ humans for duels. It seemed, at least, that they felt they were so far above the ordinary people in dueling skills that they would not back down from any challenges. Somehow, instead of alarming her, their willingness to engage in duels seemed to strengthen her steely resolved. If she had to, she would be more than willing to risk everything in a duel. It was just one of those things that she had an obligation to do.
“Looks like one of them is already engaging in a duel,” Ilythyia remarked, with considerable more interest than before. Her finger flew towards the screen to point out one of the duels, as one of the demons—the famous one—had already become locked in a battle with what looked to be an Obelisk student.

Jame Grant opened another student file. Craig Benedict. An American that moved to Japan a few years ago. Known to excel in reading, writing, and arithmetic, though not in social dealings. Jame had that and much other information on the student and on the other students whose files he opened up. So far Craig was the only non-possessed file he had brought up.
"Hmm. An alien deck versus the unknown." It could have been funny if nothing was on the line. "That demons been calling himself the Divine one. So far it looks even though." Well it was obvious who Jame was rooting for. The student of course. Demons bad, humans good. "This might give us an idea if dueling actually works. Or the risks involved in challenging a demon."

Of all the demons, there was only one that wasn't at the Academy at this time, and she cursed her fate for it. She knew where her siblings were. They were at the Academy, with young attractive hosts, while she was hear with a back that had been thrown out.
They got the good hosts and she got an old fart. An annoying one too, as she remembered her duel with him. It had felt good to strike down those bugs of his with all three Simorghs. He hadn't stood a chance against her, and now this body was hers. Although in retrospect she could have done better.
But her host's back was better, and she was given a very special treat on a silver platter. The head of something important, she didn't know what, was here. Based on the number of guards on the floor, the woman she had seen was obviously important.
And they had left the woman alone in another room. Her luck was starting to turn around. With a soldier like that under her thumb, she could expand her influence much better than her siblings could.
Uther's body slowly got out of the bed then froze. Something was wrong. And then there were six. Serves him right. He thought to high of himself that it was only a matter of time before he was knocked down. I'm only sad I didn't get to do it myself.
Changing out of the hospital gown and back into the clothes the old man had had before, a dark green business suit, she was ready to go. Barbarricia opened the door and moved out into the hallway. It wasn't completely difficult to sneak by the guards. An old man didn't stick out in a hospital.
She looked for the door that that important woman had taken. Two guards outside of it. Well she didn't plan on hiding forever, so why do so? A sudden burst of wind picked up the two guards and hurled them down the hall noisily. "I haven't lost my touch."

She eyed the screen consistently, watching as the duel unfurled. For a few minutes, the Industrial Illusions president did not say a single sound. The battle of aliens versus divinity took place, and she found that it was an interesting back and forth ordeal as many closely matched duels were. Towards the end, her anticipation for rooting for the student built almost to a fever point, and she stared intently at the screen, her breath practically caught in her throat. She glanced briefly over at Jame, only to discover that he was also completely absorbed in the duel.
Hardly moving even to breathe, Ilythyia watched until see saw the student finally strike down the demon with a direct attack from Gol’gar, the ace monster of an alien deck. A brief look of surprise and relief passed over her stoic features, and she breathed a sigh to release the tension. The duel had been an invigorating one, and, if anything, showed that it was possible to beat these ‘demons’ and cut them back down to size. They may have remarkable powers, but they certainly did not get off to a good start.
She heard a crash outside, and Ilythyia rose to her feet with a start. She gestured at Jame to remain in the bed, as she cautiously approached the door. Her hand came up to her earpiece, and she pressed the button to communicate, “Do you copy?”
No response.

The doorknob turned and the door was pulled open. Before Ilythia was an old man a cruel smile on his face. Barbarricia then looked between the visitor and the patient in the bed. It was the visitor she wanted.
"I am Barbarricia," she said, deciding to instill fear in the two of them. Surely her name had not been forgotten through time, had it? It better not have been, that would make things worse. But just in case... Another burst of wind shot around, bypassing Ilythyia, but not Jame. It wasn't strong enough to knock down the injured man, but his laptop and several other things from the tables did fall and break.
"I am the Goddess of the Wind. I come seeking soldiers. Follow me willingly, and I shall give you many rewards." Her hosts arms were spread wide graciously, as if offering the world. It would look less creepy if she was a young woman still, instead of the old man she appeared as. She would like to do this quickly and without many problems. Injuring her host again, or worse killing him while still in need of him, wasn't on her to do list.

“And what kind of reward are we talking about?” She asked suspiciously. The cool, rational part of her mind had trumped the fear, and the words that she spoke, creepy as they were, did not faze her or cause her to lose her unshakable poise.
Ilythyia was a very wealthy young woman. She had been very fortunate in winning the genetic lottery as well as in having a good career as a dancer and a company executive. She had most everything that she immediately desired, and she doubted that anything the demon could offer would sway an opinion of her. Asking the question was more out of idle curiosity and amusement than any real interest in joining with a demon. Why would anyone join with demons anyway? She was not so weak-minded that she would sell her soul to the devil.
She glanced at the ‘goddess,’ wondering what she had up her sleeve. If the other demons were any indication, she should be cautious around her, but she also felt emboldened by the desire to defeat a demon. After all, they were a great evil, and everyone had some romantic notion of playing the hero and purging the evil from the lands. That was simply one of those great cultural illusions that bound everyone since their youth. As much as Ilythyia laughed at those old conventions, she still felt the inkling to give a good showing.
“Because,” she continued plainly, considerably unimpressed by the old man holding his arms out as if presenting an incredible gift, “I don’t accept payment in hugs.”

The demon's stunned silence and hesitance was enough to show that she hadn't planned to be asked why or be mocked. However she quickly recovered and said, "why a seat of power under me.
You see the other demons, they are all a fowl bunch. I sense them, over at an island where there is a school. They are there to hurt children. Under me you can fight them and save the children." She was putting a lot of emphasis on children, because she thought all humans cared about the things still. "And once they are gone, I'll rule this world benevolently. And you under me shall rule Australia." It was the first place to come to her mind.
"So will you join me and bring an end to the evil demons?"

The look the demon gave her was enough to keep her going. Ilythyia was a playful creature, and she liked especially games of wit and word. The presence of a demon that was so willing to walk into the little pits she created only enticed her further, and she yearned to have a little bit more fun with her.
She turned her eyes skywards and off to the side, putting a delicate finger towards her chin and pretended to ponder the proposal. After a few seconds of silence and ostentatious hmm’s, Ilythyia finally turned her attention back towards the demon. Barbara? Bartlet? Barbacoa? What was her name? She honestly couldn’t remember, and it was truly one of the last things on her mind. She doubted that she cared to remember such a character anyway, considering that she was a foul demon and all.
“Truthfully,” she responded with surprising seriousness, “I don’t really like kangaroos.”

"Canada then. Great land of Canada." Her patience was already wearing thin with this woman. She was tempted to just force her to be a servant, though if one of her siblings were already gone, then she couldn't risk it herself. She had to be cautious if she wanted to keep a body.
However she had to hurry too. Her siblings are in a place filled with people. Sure she was in a city, but not all of them were the duelists that were today's warriors. "Or if not Canada then how about Italy?"

She gave the demon a look like she had just said the most ridiculous thing in the world. Mentally recounting the thought process of Australia to Canada to Italy almost seemed like she was going in the wrong direction. Ilythyia blinked a few times, wondering if she should continue the little charade or simply burst out laughing. Even though the danger of facing the demon was very real in her mind, she responded not with a tremble or stutter, but with wit and jokes; she responded better with those.
“Gee,” she responded, scratching her head, “I don’t know… It’s hard to say…”
Ilythyia glanced up at the demon, swaying a little and bobbing her head side to side as if she was a little girl waffling between two pairs of shoes. Finally, she spoke up, her entire expression changing as if she had suddenly had an epiphany. Her eyes lit as she turned towards the demon, finally deciding, “Well, maybe I’ll do it for a decent continent, or maybe a hemisphere. You know, something that’s actually worth my while.”

"..." Ok now Barbarricia was tired. She tried being nice, now she was just going to force. "Fine. You know what, I'm a demon, I can force you." Wind started to flow around the room at increasing speeds, throwing the pieces of what was broken earlier around. The wind seemed to converge on her arm, taking a green aura. Suddenly the wind slowed down as a blade formed on her arm. Soon more formed on her host's wrist, taking on a the form of the rest of the duel disk.
"We're going to duel. Once you lose, you'll be my slave. I'm just going to wipe your mind and free will out. Make things much easier on me."

So it had come down to a duel, and the demon was, once again, so confident that she would win that she did not even consider losing an option. All demons were alike, far too arrogant for their own good and too sure of themselves. She could have just as easily played along and appeased her with a continent of her choice; after all, what was the difference between a country like Canada and the entire continent that it resided on? Unfortunately, Ilythyia knew that demons had the stereotypical, insatiable greed. She could use that against her.
“Very well, she said, fetching her duel disk out of her pocket and sliding the disk slot into it. I’ll draw—”
She pulled out the top six cards from her deck, initiating the duel before the demon had anything to say about it. She wanted to surprise her with her eagerness, and it was simply something that she wanted to assert early and often. Wasting no time, she returned to her hand and devised a quick strategy. Without knowing what kind of deck the demon ran, she didn’t want to reveal too much early. Still, she did not want to slow play too much and let the demon simply pick up cards until she had enough to wipe her out.
“I’ll play Treasure of Harmony, discarding a Majestic Dragon in order to draw 2 cards. Then, I’ll set two cards in the backrow and one facedown monster and end.”

Barbarricia drew her sixth card. Oh she wasn't pleased at all to lose her first turn. However she was soon irritated even more when Trap Dustshoot was activated. She revealed the cards in her hand. Two Simorgh, Bird of Divinity, Blackwing - Bora the Spear, Blackwing - Gale the Huricane, Winged Sage Falcos, and My Body as a Shield.
Her opponent debated a while before deciding on returning Bora the Spear. Barbarricia returned the card to the middle of her deck. The cards flew out and shuffled in the air before she caught the deck and slid it back in the deck slot.
"I summon Winged Sage Falcos." The Wind monster furled its wings and spread its arms as if it were a prophet. Her opponent used Torrential Tribute. She probably expected My Body. She wouldn't fall for it. The set monster was probably good.
It was. Treeborn Frog was destroyed with Winged Sage Falcos.
"I'll end my turn." This wasn't good. Both fields were empty, but one wouldn't be for long.

The cards that she saw were a little puzzling. They were winged beasts monsters; a hand full of them. Luckily, though, she did not see an abundance of defensive traps or quick plays that could really hurt her, but she also knew that she would have to exploit any advantage she had quickly. Ilythyia did not want to burn through her advantage too quickly, but she had already trade a rough two-for-one with torrential tribute, so she needed to exploit the open field quickly. There really weren’t too many chances where she would get an open field and nothing in the hand that could punish her eagerness.
“Draw,” she exclaimed, adding another card to her hand. She had an interesting combo, but hesitated from being too aggressive early. Her opponent could, after all, draw something exceptional the next turn, and turn the whole duel around. Luckily, her hand was a slow one and she could hopefully punish her enough for the time being.
“During my standby phase, I’ll special summon Treeborn Frog from my hand via his effect. Then, during my main phase, I will discard King of the Swamp from my hand to add polymerization to my hand. Then, with the newly acquired Polymerization, I will fuse Elemental Hero Ice Edge and Treeborn Frog to form Elemental Hero Absolute Zero!”
The ice warrior leapt onto the field with a tremendous surge, and the air temperature plummeted dozens of degrees almost instantly. Ilythyia shivered noticeably, clutching at her goosebumped arms briefly. The duel felt so real that it momentarily caused her to stagger, but she quickly regained her composure. If her opponent wanted to psych her out, she couldn’t let her win…
“I’ll normal summon Debris Dragon from my hand, special summoning the King of the Swamp from the graveyard. Synchro summon! I’ll tune King of the Swamp with Debris Dragon in order to form Gungnir, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!”
The icy dragon appeared on the field, and both it and the Elemental Hero reared up and attacked the demon directly for 5500 damage.

Although the CEO felt the chill, Barbarricia protected her host with a wind barrier, keeping the cold air away from Uther's body. The attacks too were weaked physically by the wind barrier, however the damage to life points were done as well. That fool. I'll make her pay. The old man eyes shifted to the cards in the opponent's hand. Or card. She used up almost all of her options.
Barbarricia drew her next card and laughed. "Oh such a loyal card. I summon Bora the Spear." The blackwing that had been returned to the deck earlier had just been drawn. "I now Special Summon Gale the Whirlwind. And now I'll try that tuning thing myself."
The two avians flew at each other, not having much room in the patient's room, however there was enough room for the flower-like dragon to appear on the field. Barbarricia had read the card her opponent played; even if she had gotten Armored Wing on the field, that Absolute Zero monster could get rid of it easily by sacrificing itself. Instead, Barbarricia would take every thing down. "I use its effect to destroy the field."
Petal started to fly around the room, and the windows behind Ilythyia broke, the glass flying outside. And all were gone.
Now all she had to worry about was a good card getting played or Treeborn Frog suddenly gaining 2400 attack.
