((Sorry for the late reply, guys v_v))
She stared at David as he admitted that he was David. But he had not said anything.....and no one but they three were around.....who had said his name?
"I doubt we've ever met," she said, a bit coldly. No, she would have remembered him if they had. She didn't want to say how she heard his name....but then again, what did she care what they thought? "I heard a small voice.....it wasn't anyone else around here. I can't quite explain it, but it said 'David. Do you feel it?'" She shook her head. "Maybe i'm going crazy." She more or less said this for Louis' benefit. However, her eyes locked with David's, piercing his irises with hers. He knew something.....and she knew she wasn't just hearing things.
She was unaware of the little griffin eyeing her the entire time.

The look that the girl in the ponytail was giving David was not lost on him. Nor were the distrust and the unspoken question present in her eyes. For a moment, their eyes had met and a brief exchange took place between the two of them. Her piercing glare was met by an unflinching gaze that made David seem far more wiser than a teenager his age had a right to be. Wiser and more mysterious, in some ways. She knew that he was trying to hide something, and he knew that she knew it. But he wasn't about to let it get any farther than that.
"Is that so?" he replied to her while faking a look of mild bafflement. "Maybe this part of the museum is haunted and the ghosts like to play tricks. Scary thought, huh?" he suggested only somewhat helpfully. Of course, this was all just an act that David was putting on to throw her off his trail. The last thing he needed now was for some random boy and girl to corner him and start asking questions that he wasn't prepared to answer. Especially when it could compromise his own reasons for being here.
"So what do you think?" he said to the other boy. "About the tablet, I mean. Maybe the reason it was destroyed was to release whatever was inside of it? Or is it just vandalism?"
Meanwhile, the tiny black griffin who was sitting on top of David's white-hooded head suddenly perked up as an idea came to him. The creature was naturally curious about others. In fact, he was the most inquisitive out of all of his brethren. So when he found a mortal girl who could hear his words and yet not see him, it naturally made him want to experiment with her senses.
With a soft flutter of black wings, the griffin left his perch from atop of David's head and came to float right beside the girl's right ear. He stuck his beak in her ear about as far he could manage without touching anything, and then he spoke rather in a deep and dramatic voice, "WHO DARES DISTURB MY REST!? I am That Which Haunts The Tablet! The Shadow In Everlasting Darkness! He Who Walks Behind!" the tiny and mischievous beast suddenly exclaimed right in the poor girl's ear. "I have been disturbed and thus I demand TRIBUTE!!"
If there was a moment when David could've smacked his forehead hard enough to leave an imprint, then this was definitely it. Unfortunately, he couldn't even afford to do anything beyond act like he saw nothing floating right next to the girl's ear. If silver wasn't David's natural hair color already, then those spirits would've surely turned it grey long before now.

Rebecca realized that he did not want to continue, and she also realized that perhaps here wasn't the place. But she shot him a look, as if saying that she wasn't done with him. As he spoke again, she sensed something on her shoulder, like a light touch of a hand or something. She did not flinch when the same voice from before spoke in her ear once more. She shook her head slightly and glared at David once more. He had made a remark about ghosts around here, and then the same voice suddenly decided to declare itself as that very ghost? She wasn't buying it. But she was rather curious as to what it was that was on her shoulder. Right now, her only option was to believe it to be a ghost or a spirit of some kind and leave it at that. David obviously did not want to reveal anything here in a public place, but he had already made himself quite known to her......she wasn't about to let him off so easily.
"If it was vandalism, there would be other broken or stolen items in the museum, don't you think?" her eyes never left David, but she spoke as if to everyone. "But what could possibly be imprisoned in a stone tablet, and why would anyone want to set whatever it is free?" Perhaps she was underestimating the ancient powers of ancient times, but she didn't really believe in hocus pocus stories, nor in mystical powers. "Maybe it was just some religious nut, retrieving a lost relic or something."

David couldn't help smiling a little as he turned back to the ruined glass casing. This girl certainly had moxie, whoever she was. Most people probably would've had a conniption after hearing a dark voice speak in their ears, but she hardly gave any notice to it. Either she had some experience with that sort of thing before or she just had nerves of steel. Either way, David was finding himself a bit intrigued with this girl. Whoever she was.
"You've got a point there. Religion tends to make people do some crazy things." he began with a slight nod. The white hood of his Obelisk jacket partially hid his face now. "But even so, I think you're missing one important detail about all this. I agree that petty vandalism is highly unlikely, but I also think this situation goes beyond just a religious nut carrying out an ancient prophecy or whatever the case may be."
He gave a small pause to let his words sink into the girl and boy before continuing. "Consider the security system, for example. This museum houses some of the most priceless and ancient artifacts in all the world, so I would think that the benefactors wouldn't mind spending a extra few bucks to get a very high-level security system and a competent staff to go with it. That would make sneaking in here just about impossible for a petty vandal or any other ordinary crook, let alone escaping without being caught by now."
His tone seemed to grow more serious as he spoke, almost as if he imagining the culprit right now before his eyes. "That would also mean that it would take nothing short of a phenomenally skilled jewel thief or a magician to get into this place while it was closed. But even then, the motive doesn't fit quite right. If it were a thief who did this, then why would they destroy the tablet instead of make off with it?" he said with another short pause trailing his words. "And... well... A magician might want to destroy it. But that would also mean admitting that there really was something strange about the tablet. Just the fact that they got in here without anyone seeing them coming or going in the first place adds some credibility to that. And if that's true.... Then that means something big is going to be happening real soon."
He then turned his attention back to the girl and boy beside him, a curious expression on his face. "As for what was contained in the tablet.... I think you said it best." he gestured to the dark-haired boy. "The embodiments of the Seven Attributes given corporeal form. Beings with the power to rival the Egyptian Gods. Or overwhelm them." he finished somewhat cryptically before turning back to thoughtfully gaze at the shattered glass of the casing. "Whether those beings turn out to be anything like the Monarchs, the Sacred Beasts, Diabound, or something else entirely remains to be seen yet."

"They may be like them, and even more," said Louis thoughtfully. He was impressed by David's thinking. ""It does seem odd that the person would destroy the tablet and make it obvious the motivation...unless he didn't care. I don't think it could make a difference." Louis took out his journal and paged through it looking for something that might help. ""Now if these spirits have been released there is only one question to ask, why the hell was there nothing guarding it. From every movie I've seen there should be some kind of mystical booby trap."

She felt as if she were being merged into a make-shift "Scooby Gang" to solve this mystery. Rolling her eyes at Louis' last statement she spoke again. "Movies are not reality...nothing ever happens like the movies." But she did realize that David was right in that the museum should have tight security and a top of the line system.....so how did someone come in and just destroy the tablet without a trace?
"This whole thing confuses me," she said after a moment. "But I am very curious about it......If you are right and this thing is linked to ancient duel spirits.....what if the reason nothing was guarding it is because the guardian was locked inside? Perhaps the tablet was only a piece of a bigger puzzle?" Part of her was serious, but another part was not believing. After all, she didn't believe in such mystical things.

David gave another nod of his head to the girl's line of reasoning. "I see... That is another good point. A guardian sealed within the tablet. Like the proverbial fire axe kept under glass in case of emergencies." he mused thoughtfully.
He had to admit that the notion intrigued him on some levels, but he wasn't yet totally convinced that was the case in here. For one thing, destroying the thing that the guardian was supposed to be protecting just seemed like an inefficient way to summon it. Unless, of course, the tablet that had been stored here was only a vessel to hold the guardian while the real Tablet of the Seven Attributes was still somewhere else in the world. But that just seemed too convoluted a theory even for this caper.
And secondly.... Some of the "auras" that David was sensing around the exhibit just seemed much too... malevolent to what he thought a guardian's aura ought to be. They had grown admittedly weak since the tablet had been broken, but he thought that he could detect a faint whiff of dark intentions and scheming plots somewhere in the midst of them. Maybe from the person who had broken it? Or was it from one of the things trapped inside of it? He almost gave a shudder when he thought about that.
But now David was thinking that it was time to make his exit. He had seen what he had needed to see, or as much as what was available, and needed to do some thinking about it back in the safety of his own dorm. Not only that, but he also feared that he had given too much of himself away to the other boy and girl. The sooner that he put himself out of their thoughts, then the better off he would be.
"Huh..." he chuckled lightly to the boy and girl before turning his gaze upon them. "Listen to us. We sound like a bunch of conspiracy nuts." Another light smile to came to his face as he spoke, if only to make him seem more normal to them before trying to depart. "Anyway, it was fun talking to you two, but I better get going. Maybe we'll see each other again back on campus." He turned as if to go, but then he suddenly stopped and fixed the other students with a curious look and then with a slightly bashful one. "Actually... Before I go, I don't think I actually got your names. I'm David. David Frost. Although, you two already knew that."
He said that more to the girl in the ponytail rather than to the boy beside her.

This boy seemed more than deserving of her name, and she decided that if she were to confront him, it might be easier if he could match her face with her name. "My name....." she hesitated for a moment before continuing. "....my name is Rebecca......Rebecca Lexington." She eyed him, knowing he was trying to get away. She knew she could probably match his running speed.....at least that was what she gathered, just by looking at his size and build. She had a few questions, and if nothing else, she would start a duel right here, or at least, right outside. Then he couldn't turn her down.......

"My name is Louis Kachala," he answered, then a thought came to him "you should be careful, if these spirits wage war then they might not fight as beasts, but as generals. The students at the school may become involved with the chaos, and maybe recruited." Louis serious face changed to a smile "if you see anything off and need help you can find me at the Ra dorm."

David couldn't help allowing a wry little smile come to his lips when he heard Louis' last comment. Somehow what he had just said seemed oddly appropriate for the mysterious and tense atmosphere surrounding the trio. And the more David thought about it, the more convinced he became that the forces contained in the tablet could never be anything less. "Thanks. I'll definitely keep that in mind." he replied to the other boy, his hand grasping the other boy's in a firm handshake. "In fact... Now I'm counting on it."
With that, David released Louis's hand and offered a polite nod to Rebecca before turning around and walking casually back to the museum's entrance. His hands had made their way back to his long Obelisk jacket's front pockets, and the only part of his head that could be seen was the white hood that covered it. "Nice meeting you two. Later days." he told them without looking back, his right hand lifting out of his pocket to offer a wave.
However, the duel spirit hovering by Rebecca's ear... the tiny black griffin with raven features instead of an eagle's... wasn't quite done with her yet. Because at that moment, just as David was about to duck under the police tape and vanish from sight, the curious little spirit floated over to Rebecca's other ear and once again stuck his beak into it as far as he dared. He was intrigued by the girl's earlier steely reaction to his voice, but how would she fare against this?
"I'vE GoT A LOveLY BUnCH oF COconUTS~! THERE ThEy aRE ALl STANdinG iN a ROw~!"
Poor Rebecca. Rather than try to assault her senses with more ominous and ghostly mutterings with long-forgotten spirits, what the tiny beast was doing now was belting out the most awful, grating, and ear-bleeding shriek that was sung to the tune of "I've Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" by Fred Heatherton in 1944. It was, after all, one of the duel spirit's favorite songs. A "marvelous work of this modern age", the raven griffin had called it. Even though it was written almost 50 years before David was born.
Was this an experiment for the tiny beast's curiosity? Oh yes. Was this merely a distraction to keep the girl from chasing David? Probably not. But would David take that as an opportunity?
You bet your life.
Because by that time, David had already finished ducking under the lines of police tape and was walking around a corner that would lead him to the museum's exit. After that... only a moment later... he was out of sight. Along with the awful voice singing in Rebecca's ear.
